I second that OpenXR for this BMS build anyway. I recommend Virtual desktop and Godlike settings for 4080. It worked very nice with 4070 and now with 5080. This for Quest3.

@Kuhprah said in OPENXR: Can anyone tell me where I can get Open XR for my HP Reverb set with WMR setup. I always get download links just for the Toolbox or developer tools… but as far I know that toolsbox causes trouble and must not be installed… But I can´t find just the OpenXR… ? Although created for that other sim and was updated in 2023, works for BMS and Reverb G2. Follow the OpenXR Tools instructions. You will not need the toolkit. An OpenXR guide is in the video description. You may need to adjust some of the steps for your specific configuration. Worked fine for me. link text

@Dee-Jay said in Problem Vr HP G2: @Icer You can keep it alive as long as you don’t install H24 and keep your system as it is now (Disk Image in case of Windows reinstall). Personally I would do a nice fresh Win10 22H2 install (or dual boot) and not worry about it. The issue with Win11 is it’s a ticking WMR bomb, and MS may decide WMR is a security issue and slip it into a Security update, so need to be sure ALL updates are off.

@finsterdow WMR was a Microsoft foray into vr. There were a few headsets that used WMR, the best being the hp reverbs. MS have stopped supporting WMR and removed it from windows, therefore those headsets will no longer connect to Windows 11 24h2 or newer. They simply don’t appear. Monado is an open source project that has experimental support for WMR devices.

If you have win11 and updated to latest version, you are in bad shape this will help w11 users to try to bring that back to life https://www.reddit.com/r/HPReverb/comments/1b9v0y3/usability_of_reverb_g2_with_wmr_after_november/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button&sort=new

@Gizmo2024 If you are referring to Alternative Launcher, it’s in the x:\Falcon BMS 4.37\Launcher\ folder. Be sure to run the updater (in x:\Falcon BMS 4.37), 4.37.4 Hotfix 2 is out.

I’m currently using OpenXR as I know it performs better than SteamVR, but I don’t have Falcon BMS in the list of SteamVR settings. I know there is a resolution multiplier in the user.cfg, but I want to know and set the native resolution first. I’m quite new to the PCVR world, can you give me some suggestions?

@GageReynolds10 You’ll need to have steam VR installed with the mixed reality plugin. Enable VR in the config file I use Open XR for it to run. You will also need to run the following below in command prompt @echo off logman stop HolographicShell -ets Make sure command prompt is run as admin or it won’t work. On the launcher I have to select Open XR for the VR setting. My config for bms is below: ///////////////// // VR Settings // ///////////////// set g_nVRHMD 2 // Enables the OpenVR (default 0/false). set g_fVRZOOMFOV 65 // Field of view in degrees for VR ZOOM (default 60.0). set g_nVRHMCSEYE 1 // HMCS renders, 0 Right eye, 1 Left eye (default 0/false). set g_fVRResolution 1.2 // VR resolution multiplier. 1.0 by default. set g_bVRParallelRenderThread 1 // Enable Multi-Thread optimization for VR set g_bVRNoPresent 0 // This will not display the companion window in VR (only HMD will show image in 3d). set g_bMixedRealityCockpitCoverEnabled 0 // Setting this will default the Mixed Reality Cockpit Cover on (1) or off (0). Can still be toggled in game. If you can get the headset running in either windows mixed reality or steam you’re halfway there. It took some tweaking and alot of frustration to get it to work for me. Now my only issue is the resolution is a a little bit fuzzy and I get nauseated. You’ll also need Open XR toools for mixed reality as well.

@dawgboy Copy. It looks like you can change the “world scale” through OpenXR Toolkit. However, it appears that it relies on WMR which will be obsolete soon. Thanks for your assistance.

@dawgboy It’s a great bit of kit. Pity the company seems to want to compensate for it by being totally inept at customer service or being able to supply customers with what they ordered.

@lemonides i’m not on pc, but if memory serve is a setting of the windows mixed reality software. At first can be a bit nauseating, but after some time this effect disappear and the fps gain remain.

Not a Windows user here, but maybe MonadoXR would be a solution, at least as a OpenXR runtime provider. I’m not sure if OpenHMD drivers would work under windows, but at least it supports Reverb G2. BTW that’s why I stay away from closed ecosystem. Company may pull the plug on given tech and screw users just because thy (company) see no profits.

@Gunz_ProSkies said in BMS SteamVR supersampling (Reverb G2): @I-Hawk g_fVRResolution can also be set in the “falcon bms.cfg” from the “VR Settings” section at the bottom of the file. It is set to 1.0 by default. Sure, but the User file is better. This way each user can track easily the changes he is making to which config variables.

@airtex2019 said in Can’t disable VR: check your ‘falcon bms user.cfg’ file… that supercedes ‘falcon bms.cfg’ That was the solution! In the user.cfg it was still valued with “1”
