Who else immediately planned a low level route at the beautiful valley down at the bottom right corner ? Just amazing

RE: Eurofighter Typhoon canopy glass missing
@Manos1981 You are right, this is in my user config, so no stock install. Those lines are probably a leftover from my trials with the 4.37.0 initial release. IIRC from the VR-post, the logic was to disable some graphics to boost up the frames a bit (I was struggling with performance at the ground during ramp start). Still they seem to only affect very few (I could find only the EF) planes so far.
Anyway, will take out this bird now into the Nordic fiords Cheers

RE: Eurofighter Typhoon canopy glass missing
@Manos1981 Thanks a lot for the reply and quick check. Your question whether the grasphics is modified triggered me to check out my falcon bms user config. I played in VR before and put there some lines, which were recommended to increase performance and visibility. I commented them out and the glass of the canopy was back.
Here the pictures and the details (from a lot of plains I checked only the Typhoon was affected):
Red marks the original problem with the BMS config lines to the right. Green marks expected behavior of canopy glass. Picture below shows the glass coming back when deactivating the config lines. Nvidia details are in the middle. Thanks again for the quick help, best community ever! Greetings

Eurofighter Typhoon canopy glass missing
First of all thanks for all the nice work and also the nice planes. Apologies in advance, if the problem is known or reported already.
The Eurofighter Typhoon seems on my PC the only plane where the canopy glass is missing (NVIDIA graphics card).BMS 4.37u2
Theaters I checked: Korea KTO, Baltic, Nordic
The fastest way to reproduce this, is to look at it in the tactical reference viewer. I tried also a recommended shift+w press, but it didnāt change it.Not a big deal, just one of my favorite planes Thanks in advance.
Greetings

RE: Nordic Theater 4.37
@b0bl00i I think the map, unfortunately, isnāt stretching that much to the south, itās the upper Scandinavian parts. You will find your town in the Baltic theater though. Check it out, it has really a challenging campaign.

RE: Nordic Theater 4.37
@b0bl00i Hi, here a picture from a nicely modeled city.
In the mountains itās a bit more repetitive, but coastlines look often really good.

RE: Tgp
@CaptainFap Hi Captain, I Have this on my t16000 throttle as well. In my case itās just the mechanical dead zone of the āfinger-joystickā on the back.
I fix this by setting saturation and dead zone to large in the alternative launcher (press on assign for x/y cursor). If you are not using joystick axes for the tgp, check this place anyway, maybe there is an unwanted axis assigned from another device.
Greetings -
RE: Nordic Theater 4.37
First, thanks for the work and this wonderful theater!
Any advices to download? I just stops after a few seconds. Deactivated already MS defender. Maybe service (mediafire) itself is the problem? Anyone else experiencing this? -
RE: No Amraams after some hours in Rolling Fire Camp. Gunsan
@Ironman53rd
Thanks, that works. Rockets are back. However, it still feels for me a bit like cheating Shouldnāt there be a mechanism by the campaign engine itself to resupply arms from time to time?
Maybe I was a bit too inpatient. I will monitor my campaign state further to see what happens, also now with your info using the MC tooling. If it comes out that it never resupplies, is this a bug or do real squadrons have like 200 bvr missiles and thatās it?
I donāt remember this from previous version, like 4.33, but I might have used a different airbase at that time.
Thanks again, greetings. -
RE: No Amraams after some hours in Rolling Fire Camp. Gunsan
@Ironman53rd
Thanks for the advice. Here is the situation in MC:
However, Iām not sure how to interprete the numbers correctly. Does it look normal?
Thanks again -
No Amraams after some hours in Rolling Fire Camp. Gunsan
Was flying the Block52 (Korean loadout, Gunsan AB) in the Rolling Fire campaign. After a few hours there were no Amraams left, only sidewinders. I waited till the official resupply time of the squadron (1800z), but the rockets were not delivered. Squadron shows full supply. Anyone else experiencing this? Still wondering, whether this is a feature or not, maybe a supply line was hit, since BMS models to some degree logistics, ā¦
Btw the headquarter AI recognizes this and is not planning Deads or Barcaps, when only sidewinders left; I got an empty mission list.
Any advice appreciated, thanks in advance. -
RE: F-18 Hornet FLSC/DBU FAULT
@Vespa
A few month ago I tried a bit the F-18, and I know I had the same problem. I have in faint memory that I did not have it in the end anymore, or it is a natural behavior of the F-18 (something like that). I think I also checked against a āon runwayā start to distinguish whether itās a normal behavior or something wrong with my startup procedure.
Have a look at the startup here, maybe the problem gets solved:

RE: 4.36 Screenshots
@NIL Nice work mate, good to see that the Baltic theater is worked on, since itās one of the nicest out there. Are you in contact with Max to integrate the airport improvements, just wondering how this will be integrated further on, ā¦ Keep up the good work!

RE: Getting familiar with the F18
Brief report from my journey with the F18C:
First, I slightly modified the flow with the ramp start (v2), see below. The IFF is also available, see blue mark āEā (left click, actually moves the switch below).
Now, letās use this plane in a full scale conflict, itās BMSā after all.
The plot Iāve chosen as a newbie F18C pilot is: Iām in my first land training missions to practice take-offs and landings, as a conflict breaks out.The idea is to add this F18C squadron to the Osan AB with 12 aircraft, and reduce the aircraft of the 36th (block 40) by 12 to have a balanced rolling fire campaign. We need the great Mission Commander (MC) tooling for this, see also āMission Commander beta releaseā under https://forum.falcon-bms.com/category/67/tools-apps .
First, start Falcon BMS and chose an arbitrary squadron in a new rolling fire campaign. Save it even before pressing start, as shown below (1.).
Start MC and load your saved campaign file. Go to the campaign tab, sort the table by airbase and right-click the row of the Osans block 40s (2.). Select āview squadronā. In the upcoming window click on the "2"s in the table on the active aircraft to set a few of them to 0 until 12 aircrafts remain (3.) and press apply. Now itās time to add our new F18C squadron, go to the units tab and press āadd squadronā (4.).
Next, select aircraft type F/a 18C, select Osan airbase, click in the name, and give the name you like [donāt move the mouse much this triggered in my case a refresh of the map, and I could not enter text] (5.) and press ok. Go back into the campaign tab, find your new squadron at Osan AB and view the squadron (as done with the F16s before). Set the squadrons name, select its speciality and remove a few aircraft to reach 12 aircraft in total (6.). Click apply and save the whole campaign (File->save).Back into BMS, load your campaign and select your new squadron (7.). You can now decide to switch off squadron management, 12 aircraft are easily managed (8.).
Prepare the campaigns weather, config PAKs and your first mission. Be impressed by the loadout , ramp up, greetings to our friends from the 36th, takeoff and enjoy (9.). -
RE: Getting familiar with the F18
Here, is my current version (v1) to get this bird in the air. I tried to keep the original provided by CheckPoint as good as possible, because it feels good to me (like a natural flow). The order to work through is reading order top left to bottom right, I needed to switch a few of the lines at the right. The goal would be to bring the jet in the state, such that the official carrier ops manuals can take over from that point, like wing folding, flap position, ā¦
There are still a few open issues:-
I try with F18C, and donāt see any IFF corresponding buttons (off, stby, ā¦) as in the F16.
-
Still canāt find the Lights steady/flash button
-
Still canāt find the wind correction switch for the hud
Feedback is welcome, hope this helps out other F18C beginners.
Feels just great to be in the air with this nice jet[picture and description all from the original source (pdf, see post above), added only the blue stuff and resorted a bit, so, credits to the original source!]

RE: Getting familiar with the F18
@drtbkj @icer @CheckPoint Big thank you to all of you, ramp start works perfectly now. If you combine the checklist from drtbkj (OFM) especially the part āAPU off at 45%!ā with the pdf from checkpoint where almost all spots are nicely labeled, I could figure out where I was missing something.
Really nice, this might be a worthy addition to the offical āother aircraft docsā. Thanks again, will also check out the mentioned journal over the next days. -
RE: Getting familiar with the F18
@CheckPoint Thanks mate, will check it out!

Getting familiar with the F18
I really want to try out the F18, however I struggle with the ramp start. Although it should be quite similar to the f16 due to shared avionics, I probably miss some points there. Is there a manual available how to do this from 4.36 on (incl. update 1).
I would really appreciate a pseudo-newbie guide, in the sense, F16 plays really nice, but what are the small details to pay attention to, when swithcing to the F18 (and later maybe the Tornado :)). I also try to follow a bit the OFM work, but itās not clear to me how this all connects. A helping word from someone who tried this would be appreciated as well.
Apologies already, if Iām just blind and miss the right spots in the manuals or forums. Thanks in advance! -
RE: Trees in the way on the runway
@UglyGrendel They are in the theater as well, quite beautiful. Donāt tell me that the square ones actually exist .
