Just tried BMS in 32-bit mode and Windows 7 compatibility mode. It works! Yay! Although I didn’t try without compatibility mode. Might not need to enable it.

Sadly no change. Re-installed to a new directory and having the same issues.

RE: BMS 4.33 U1 - Cannot proceed past Mission Schedule screen to 3D world in Windows 10
Hmm…interesting thoughts. I’ll try uninstalling and re-installing into a new directory. My hard drive is partitioned into several smaller directories, so I’ll throw it onto something other than C:\ and report back when I’ve done that.

RE: BMS 4.33 U1 - Cannot proceed past Mission Schedule screen to 3D world in Windows 10
Currently loaded into C:\Program Files (x86)\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1
I ran BMS 4.33 out of the same C:\Program Files (x86)\ directory without issue - but again I can’t recall if that was running Windows 10 or 8.1
Thanks for the help everyone. I’m hoping a solution can be found.

RE: BMS 4.33 U1 - Cannot proceed past Mission Schedule screen to 3D world in Windows 10
BMS is running off the NVIDIA card; only option I have in game. And my settings are set for max performance. This laptop came with Windows 8.1 BMS ran fine on that OS. I’ve had Windows 10 for several months. Can’t remember if I ever ran BMS under Windows 10 or only before upgrading. It’s been a while since I’ve tried to fly.

BMS 4.33 U1 - Cannot proceed past Mission Schedule screen to 3D world in Windows 10
I’ve read the few other posts regarding BMS not running in Windows 10. However my issue seems similar but unique. I can launch BMS (both 4.33 and 4.33 U1 64 bits), and get as far as the Mission Schedule screen, right before hitting “Takeoff”. As soon as I hit the takeoff button, the cursor changes to the parachute man, then disappears, and then…nothing. It just hangs up at that screen. No further progress.
Here are my system specs:
HP Envy
Windows 10 Home 64 bit version 1511
OS Build 10586.545
Processor: Intel i7-5500U 2.40GHz
RAM: 16GB (x2 8GB Hynix/Hyundai 1600MHz)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M
Intel HD Graphics 5500I’ve tried running in windowed mode and I have the same problem. Also tried running as Windows 7 compatibility and no success.
I’m forced to enter Task Manager, at which point a message pops up saying, “BMS has stopped working” or something to that effect.
Any suggestions?

RE: 4.33 Issues (Known or not)
Problem: player aircraft (mine) crashes when in autopilot mode at multiplied game speed.
Example: I get my plane up in the air, set autopilot to steer and altitude hold, and set the game to x8, x16, or even x64 speed (sometimes if I’m late getting to bed and want to land the plane quickly
However when I do this the plane always ends up crashing somehow. I’ve tried this several times and the plane will fly mostly stable at x8 and above, but it also dives and climbs erratically at times, eventually something fails. The last encounter with this problem my plane somehow ended up losing power and pretty much all forward momentum, dropping like a rock out of the sky; I had zero ability to control the plane and get it out of the stall.
This only happens when the speed is multiplied.

RE: Clearance for 34L, but ILS only for 34R - what to do?
Thanks for the info everyone! I was running some bad weather with visibility so low I couldn’t see the runway signs while taxiing. ILS was necessary to land, as visual was completely out of the question.

Clearance for 34L, but ILS only for 34R - what to do?
As per the heading, I recently flew a mission out of Choongwon Airbase in inclement weather with terrible visibility. I contacted the ATC who cleared me to land R34L - but ILS is available only for 34R. So what is one to do in such a situation, where a visual approach is impossible? ILS guided me in perfectly to 34R, but that’s not what I had clearance for.
On a side note, when contacting the tower (UHF 230.15) the ATC identifies himself as Chongju, not Choongwon. What’s up with that? All of the vectors he gave guided me right in to the proper approach, but the name he gave conflicted with the data I have for Choongwon. My ILS was set to 111.30 and TACAN 005X, the data listed for Choongwon - but he kept identifying himself as Chongju airbase. It was rather confusing!

RE: Mouse Cursor sluggish in cockpit
I managed to force the GTX card to be used with BMS, and now I’m up to about 30-35 FPS with the graphic settings maxed out in-game, and about 40+ FPS with the graphics all the way down. I also looked through a few other posts and found that adjusting the g_fMouseSensitivity to about 2 or 2.5 was supposed to help - I just didn’t know where the BMS config file was, until you told me Agave_Blue. So, thanks! It’s not quite as crisp as it is normally, but it’s a lot better than it had been. Thanks for the help!

RE: Mouse Cursor sluggish in cockpit
My FPS is only about 11-13. And BMS does not seem to recognize the GTX card, only the Intel i7 5500. Is there a way to change that outside of BMS?

Mouse Cursor sluggish in cockpit
I had the same problem on a previous laptop and was never able to resolve the issue. I’ve recently purchased a new laptop (HP Envy, 16GB RAM, Intel i7 5500U 2.4 GHz, Windows 8.1 64 bit, Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M) and in cockpit the mouse cursor is aggravatingly slow. I’ve tried adjusting the mouse cursor sensitivity, both all the way left and all the way right, and it seems about the same. Is there any way I can fix this? I’ve tried moving the graphic settings all the way left, but that makes no difference. I imagine 16GB ram should be pretty decent for this game, no? How can I make the mouse cursor ‘normal’. Mouse sensitivity is maxed out in Windows, and it works just fine there. Only in BMS in cockpit is it slow - painfully slow.

RE: LGB Woes (NOT about TGP POINT mode)
@ simdudeBMS: yes, I slew the target cursors as I go. It’s only a slight adjustment. I’ll try again next week.
-
RE: LGB Woes (NOT about TGP POINT mode)
Yes, this is BMS 4.32. Target was Kotar range, stock LGB TE training mission. I tried several of the range targets: F4’s, bullseye rings, etc. It also happened in the same mission when I tried bombing some apartment buildings several miles away. I was having troubles at the range, so I thought I’d try on a ‘real’ target (i.e. building). I’ll have to try next weekend. I have NO time until then!

LGB Woes (NOT about TGP POINT mode)
So I’m having issues with LGBs. Laser armed, target designated, release, the bombs track the target until about the last two seconds. For some reason they flare away from the target and miss. I’m flying level, TGP tracking target, laser not masked. Yet almost always the LGB will turn away from the target within the last two seconds and miss. Any thoughts?

RE: Mouse Cursor Speed in 3D Cockpit
Yeah, my mouse speed is already at full speed in the control panel. I’m not sure how to display the frame rate. My keystroke says the input is Ctrl-Z : R, but I’m not sure what that means. I tried holding down all three buttons, but it does something with the radar instead.

HP Pavilion DV6 Notebook PC
AMD A6-3410MX APU With Radeon HD 1.6 GHz
4 GB Ram
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bitThe game itself runs smoothly. It’s just the mouse cursor within the cockpit that is sluggish.
