@Xeno I am waiting for 4.38 to arrive, to see what will actually be improved by the devs. And if that leaves anything good to mod, I’ll do it, but as of now there is too much mess with the shared dds files amongst cockpit variants. This is why I stopped working on it. UVs are incomplete in several places. I hope they will create a brand new model for the viper with more 3D detail and PBX support and cleaned UV maps.

RE: 8K texture enhancement for F-16 block 50 (BMS 4.35 U3)
@CloudWallace1981 I am not aware. Maybe Maxwaldorf can confirm. But if so, then I’m sure they will come up with a modern high quality multilayer shader by default.

RE: 8K texture enhancement for F-16 block 50 (BMS 4.35 U3)
@sheref Hey there. Basically I am not againts cooperation, however I am currently getting my own PSDs together to restart the work where I left
As for the future, my main problem is that the 3D models and their associated .dds files are a mess. They use common .dds files for differend 3D models which can easily lead to do unwanted work on block 40 while updating the .50 files.
Until this is not sorted out, meaning the 3D models have their very own dds files and not shared ones, I will not work on skins. Also the UV maps on the f16 models are quite “unhandled” in some places. The 3D models would need an update as well. The engine does not support PBR textures for the aircraft models neither, therefore doing nice reflection/emitter effects are very limited.
Together with these limitations I don’t think that much can be done. Just like in your cockpit skins, I have to burn in static effects, which are really not up to todays standards. I would be very happy If these would have been addressed already. -

@Jackal Yes. I will pick up working on it again to fix for 4.37+

RE: CTD to desktop on ITO 80's 1.06.2
@Seifer Yeah, I flew a few missions also now and no CTD at all, since I added that line manually into the f4 dat file!

RE: CTD to desktop on ITO 80's 1.06.2
Hello,
It seems I have downloaded it via torrent Israel Theater 1.06.2v.zip.torrent
But now I went back and do not see the link in the 1st comment of the ito topic for this file. But I’m sure it was there at Nov 7 as I wouldn’t have the file here.

RE: CTD to desktop on ITO 80's 1.06.2
@Seifer
I followed the conversation here, and have added this line to f-4E IAF.dat file:+24.000000 # AOA Max AI
And now it does not crash. I could fly the mission without crashing. Seem like this solves the issue.

RE: CTD to desktop on ITO 80's 1.06.2
Hey there.
I did install Isreal theatre to a clean U3 bms… downloaded the full installer and followed instructions. However when I start the campaign, I can be in the cockpit for like a minute and then crash to desktop without any kind of error message. The game just disappears.
I checked, its not my antivirus. I am launching the game via the alternate launcher.================================== CRASHLOG =====================================

RE: 8K texture enhancement for F-16 block 50 (BMS 4.35 U3)
Just FYI - This skin is compliant with 4.36
An update is coming soon for the already reported issues.

RE: 8K texture enhancement for F-16 block 50 (BMS 4.35 U3)

@Tiger-0 Thanks for reporting. Something must have gotten wrong, as it was the very first things I did (see changelog 1.1). I’ll definitely have a look.
There’s gonna be one more update which will close the development for this skin.

RE: 8K texture enhancement for F-16 block 50 (BMS 4.35 U3)
Dear All,
Version 1.6 is now out. Link is updated in the first comment.
Please check the changelog for details. Thanks for all your feedback so far!

RE: Quick update from the BMS Frontlines - November 2021
@vfp There are lot of things during development that are changing in the final version. If they screenshot something that will be taken out or completely redesign, it might be not good for some, and good for others… Its risky to show shots at early stages. Lets wait until they have really something to show.

@maxwaldorf Thanks for all the joy you guys bring with Falcon BMS! It’s an awesome sim!

RE: HD runway/ramp textures
@dee-jay Not too much issue here with resources:
I have also my 8k cockpit installed and together the game uses 1gig of RAM and 4gig of VRAM. The picture shows 6.6 but 2.5 is used by default by windows.

RE: 8K texture enhancement for F-16 block 50 (BMS 4.35 U3)
@justonce01 Yes, I’ll experiment with other darker and blurry shades for sure.

RE: 8K texture enhancement for F-16 block 50 (BMS 4.35 U3)
@justonce01 yes, those screws were meant to be placeholders only, however they are already black and will be included in the next release.
Regarding the backlit effect my hands are little tied. I spent quite a few hours with several hiqh quality effects I designed which look great really, however all of them requires 16bit color depth textures instead of 8. Basically simulating light spread requires gradients (all sort of) to use and mix, but those do not look realistic with 8bit. I don’t know if the engine supports it at all also. Therefore I have taken back the light spread and instead put readable-from-far versions.
This applies to anything like the master caution button, aoa indexer etc…
Without realtime emitter shaders, there are simply limits. -
RE: 8K texture enhancement for F-16 block 50 (BMS 4.35 U3)
@suhkoi69 This mod generally improves the readability of the text and the base textures in higher zoom levels. Some example of the untouched area and the reworked:

RE: 8K texture enhancement for F-16 block 50 (BMS 4.35 U3)
@rzax Thanks for the feedback!
When it gets completed, I am planning to release a clean and a worn version to fit everyone’s taste. Right now its not possible to have both as it would make double efforts of work on the files.
