Frustrated with GBUs and JDAMs
I’ve been able to get both types on target just fine….until today. Not sure what’s going on, but a little help or guidance would be appreciated.
I flew several campaign missions today and, suddenly, can’t get the bombs to drop off the plane. I didn’t over-G the plane (I don’t think?). I simply took off and flew steerpoints to the target, never engaged and had to maneuver.
I think I’ve got it set-up right (I am new, but have been successfully implementing them till now), but double-check me:
- In A-G mode
- CCRP
- SMS bombs powered ON (for JDAM)
- Laser Armed
- Laser in Combat mode
- Laser code in DED matches code in Data Cartridge
- Master ON
- Target is locked with TGP, or am lasing it
- I have target steerpoint Lat/Longs entered and am flying right over top of it, on fall line, straight-and-level flight.
- Holding pickle down…the first line drops, circle flashes, countdown timer is counting down, second line drops…timer reaches zero aaaaaand starts counting back up with bombs on the wings. I’m about to pull my hair out, lol.
What gives? I read a thread a few minutes ago about lofting and, while a different procedure, it was mentioned to not pickle until the circle starts flashing. Could that be it?

RE: TGP slewing my steerpoints?
As above. If the CZ is lit up, there is a delta that is applied to all STPTs.
Thanks. Just got done flying a mission I made and I think I’m getting it figured out.

Okay. System deltas is a new term to me, but I’m a bit familiar with cursor zero. I’ll search around- thanks!

TGP slewing my steerpoints?
Noob here and tried to search “TGP” and read, but you can imagine the pile of random topics that popped up!
So I’m trying to get TGP and Mav usage down. I’ve watched tutorial videos several times and read through the docs. I feel like I’m doing things right, but am really getting confused.
When I fire up the TGP and try to slew it to a target, it’s slewing my HUD steerpoints and throwing my timing/target off. I cannot for the life of me figure out what setting(s) is/are causing this. I was going to go through the boresight/hand off process, but can’t get passed this issue. I was still able to take out a tank column with my Mavs with 100% hits, but I would really like to use the TGP for ID’ing targets. Any help would be really appreciated!

RE: Post your BMS 4.33 Screenshots here!
“…It’s an old machine though… it’s only got a GTX 560 SE. :embarassed: Ran Battlefield great though in its day!” As it was, it would be good to change the thermally conductive paste under the processor and in the GTX 560 SE:wfish::dhorse::rofl:
Good idea! I’ll see if I can grab my buddy from work to do that for me. He’s into building computers.

This shaky AAR behavior was exactly the same in old Falcon versions,
… until one of the talented BMS coders took care of it.For your glitchy, freezing system try cleaning all fans,
maybe even open the case if the freezes are result of
temperatur/ cooling problems.Cheers, :yo:
LSThose talented souls are amazing- the smoothness makes AAR sooo much better!
I popped the case on my computer. I’m not a computer-junky, so periodic cleaning is definitely not on my radar. There was a lot of dust and dust balls! (Kinda glad this thing didn’t catch on fire!) I blew it all out, so we’ll see how it does. It’s an old machine though… it’s only got a GTX 560 SE. :embarassed: Ran Battlefield great though in its day!

Hi everyone! Been a lurker for quite a while. Watching, reading, drooling over BMS. I’ve been playing Allied Force for a while, but never tried BMS as my machine is older. I looked over the specs recently and saw my machine IS capable-ish, so I installed it. It’s awesome!
I was so frustrated with AAR in Allied Force…it’s so shaky and nearly impossible to accomplish it, so my first flight with BMS was the AAR training mission (or an AAR mission I built, can’t remember which, but my first flight). Got hooked up, and wanted to share my joy!!!
I have a basic joystick - Logitec Extreme 3D Pro, and it’s REALLY touchy. Someday I’ll buy a new system and HOTAS setup. For now, I’ll spend my time with my glitchy, freezing system learning BMS so I’ll, hopefully, be plug-n-play with you all some day.
