RE: BMS Key File Help
awesome initiative!! Looking forward to the kolbe/danny combo keyfile! Are the differences between your approaches worthwhile to wait for?
If you are a new player, my file is better.
If you are already familiar with the cockpit layout, finding a specific key is better with Kolbe’s file.
My file is designed for an easy learning curve, so it gives you the controls in the same order a new real life pilot learns.
Read the key file with a text editor (like Notepad), it has a lot of documentation of what each callback is actually doing.
My work is still a WIP because some of the callbacks are buggy/needs coder attention. -
RE: BMS Key File Help
Very impressive work Kolbe !
You are welcomed to check my own work and copy what ever you feel needed.
I took a similar but somewhat different approach to give the new user a very relaxed and easy to understand key file.
Please check the comments in the key file, you will find them very interesting.
It is still a WIP but can be used already.

RE: Modelling Organisation
Dave you wrote “Where possible place multiple features on one 2038x2048 texture”.
Did you mean 2048x2048 ? -
RE: Mouse too slow
Try this from my key file:
ctrl 3
#Activate/deactivate the clickable 3D pit.
#If deactivated, mouse mode changes to mouselook without right click.
ToggleClickablePitMode -1 0 0X04 2 0 0 1 “SIM:Clickable Pit-Active/Inactive” -
RE: Pilot model fo F-16
Ohh,
And perhaps you or/and Nanard should start working to implement different 3D pits like standard USAF, MLU, HAF??!!
/hiding!
I vote for that !
AFAIK, Nanard is no longer involved with BMS.
The legs in the pit adds a lot of realism !!! -
RE: WARNING: AFM : GC adjustments
Really? But there are SO many FSX F-16 mods that can have you climb vertical to 80,000 feet at mach 2? You mean they are not accurate?
With your speedbrakes fully open.
With your canopy open.
With your A/P engaged.
LOL! -
RE: OF mods: JanHas, realism patch?
Please include all the external details in 3D (not just as texture) for:
1. All external lights.
2. Hook with DOF.
3. JFS doors with DOF.
4. All antennas.
5. Chocks not as part of the model.
6. Gun doors.
7. Air inlet that the engine fan can be seen rotating through.
8. All air data probes (static pitot, air data probe, AOA transmitters and total temperature probe).
9. Whatever is necessary for an effect of EPU gas vented from EPU exhaust pipe. Maybe by PS effect.
10. Anything else some of us see everyday on the RL jets and find missing when looking at the model…I’m sure code for that can be developed later.
If some measurements need to be researched, please let me know. -
RE: Any REAL F-16 pilots in there?
Well I could show you at least two or three active F-16 drivers who are in the team, but it’s not my place to do that. If they want to present themselves they’ll do it themselves. You’ll just have to take my word for it until then.
Mind you, we’re not talking about pilots who just provide input once in a while. We’re talking about pilots who fly BMS regularly, maybe not as much as you and I obviously, but still. This sim didn’t get to where it is just by studying the manuals.
The BMS team has 2 F-16 pilots for a long time.
The third one joined not long ago.
All share their expirience and answer questions no manual or T.O. can answer and thus making BMS the best F-16 sim ever.
If they want to post here, they will. -
RE: A quick explanation of CatI/Cat III (Stores Config)
had an interesting read on this yesterday…
salute gums…!
Interesting reading…
I work/worked on blocks 10,15,30,40,52+ so I know for sure DFLCS started with block 40. -
RE: A quick explanation of CatI/Cat III (Stores Config)
In the first models A&B was analog in the new one C&D is digital (rapide and accurate)
If Iam wrong please tell me so to del this post so wee dont confuse the rest
You are a bit wrong here:
F-16A/B/C/D/AM/BM/K=blocks 1 to 32=analog FLCS.
F-16CG/DG/CJ/DJ/I/S/U=blocks 40 to 60=digital FLCS. -
RE: Korea Interactive navigation map released
Great job !!!
In Israel:
Some air bases are listed with AB suffix and some not.
TEL NOV should be TEL NOF. -
RE: OF mods: JanHas, realism patch?
What is F-16 Block 52M ?
What M stands for ? -
RE: Rampstart in the dark ?
there always will be…. it’s seems quite complex
Read -1.
All relevant info is there.
It is not as complex as it seems.
It is basically a tree with branches that acts as a fallback in case of failure. -
RE: Rampstart in the dark ?
Guys:
IRL the pilot is surronded by ground crew before engine start.
That means that no matter where the aircraft is parked, there will be some ambient light from a light poll or the dome shelter lights, for the ground crew to perform their PF checks.
Pilots do not start their engines in complete darkness. SAFETY FIRST !!!
Pilot do not start their EPU just for lights… especially not on the ground !!!
I will be upgrading the electrical system sometimes in the future, to be as close to real as possible without getting too technical. Now it is pending Boxer’s approval.
The aircraft battery can last 50 minutes in BATT during flight, according to -1 emergency procedures section regarding all generators offline.
The spot light is used during an emergency or during a night flight to read mission docs.
It is N/I in BMS AFAIK.
Any more electrical system questions ? -
RE: The tutorial scripts are…
My training script does point the camera to the correct place and the text do mention the panel name and the control name.
If however, you still can’t locate the control, just hit “shift k” and it will be moved for you automatically in most cases.
If you think some part or parts of the script can be written better, let me know. -
RE: The tutorial scripts are…
Start with the first mission, the -00- RAMP START.
It will take you step-by-step into starting your engine with all the checklists already built in.
It explains each and every acronym, button, switch and system for a newbie.
I created it exactly for your kind of people, those who see Falcon sim for the very first time.
The other training scripts are not that detailed.
Maybe I will raise them to the same level as the ramp start script (given time…)
