Be sure to let us all know how this turns out! Not sure if it’s the quarantine talking, but this is riveting!

RE: Throttle axis reverse?
I have a setup with a modified CH Throttle Pro and i’d like to reverse the throttle axis but there is no Reverse option in the Advanced control settings for throttle. Is there a way to reverse it modifying some file?
Thanks!
Pretty sure you can make this change in the CH Control Manager software.

RE: Having some "minor" control issues.
Welcome!
First off, no need to combine the devices. Each will be recognized separately in BMS, but they need to be in MAPPED MODE (it’s the button immediately to the left of the HELP icon). I recommend assigning commands by clicking the command in the UI and then pushing the corresponding button on your HOTAS (referred to as “DX Mapping”) rather than mapping commands to simulate button presses in CHCM. It’s possible to initiate some unintended commands with multiple button presses when using CHCM profiles rather than a DX map.
Check out the document “DX CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle.pdf” in C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs\Key Files & Input\Device Setup Guides & Profiles\CH Fighterstick & Pro Throttle. It will help.
No need to “go back to DCS”… you can do this.

RE: Hotas x no gun :(
ive been using my Saitek st 200…maybe 20 years…first venture into half decent joystick…digital intergration f16 first sim with dynamic campaign no bindings then.
Not sure what you mean.
Go into the controller setup, scroll through the commands until you find SECOND TRIGGER DETENT. Click it with the mouse, then push the button you want to assign it to on the stick. The commands are organized by location in the pit. Also try and refer to the documentation in the user/document directory.
Good luck!

RE: Hotas x no gun :(
Try binding the button to the SECOND TRIGGER DETENT command in the controller setup.

RE: CH file set availability
Just double-checked – i had to switch the POV hat on the fighterstick to DX MODE and give button numbers to each direction i want to use (i ignore the buttons on the diagonals). One of the axes on the throttle joystick is backwards when mapped in BMS for some reason… i think it’s the y-axis. If i wasn’t so used to it by now (you can check the “reverse” box in the controller setup in BMS), i would simply invert it in CHCM.
Good luck!!

RE: CH file set availability
Hey Ken!
I recommend limiting the programming in CHCM. The only thing my CH profile does is ensure that i’m in “mapped mode” and sets one of the hats (can’t remember which one at the moment) to accept DX inputs. The rest of it is programmed using DX commands from within the sim (clicking the command and then clicking the corresponding button on the HOTAS). It can be a little tedious the first time, but you’ll be much happier with the result. Take advantage of the “pinky shift” button feature to add a second command layer to your setup. I prefer this to using the different modes available in the CH software and there’s ample room for everything you’ll need.
As for which buttons to map, map the same ones that are on the real HOTAS (the fighterstick matches up well with the real thing). The layout is in the manual.
Welcome back!

RE: Multiplayer and Skype.
Another option to consider is Discord. It’s very similar to teamspeak but allows users to create free servers rather than paying for hosting services. I’m in no way affiliated with Discord… just started using it myself.

RE: Troll on!
I found my own answer, it wasn’t in Goggle or the documents! It had to do with “freezing” and running out of time. The Auto timer also restarted because I flew too far West.
You find this anywhere in the manual? Only obtusely. Also NOT in the Manual: Ask a question, get ABUSED in the Forums!
I’m a pretty resourceful, and intelligent guy. Normally only 0.4% of you are smarter than me, only 3% are richer, and few are tougher. I am a dentist, multi-millionaire, a 3rd degree black belt, and taught martial arts for 22 years.
NOW is not a normal time! I am here for the same reason I played Falcon 4 nearly 20 years ago. I have had a major relapse of Hashimoto’s Encephalopathy. I AM having trouble with my eyesight, fine motor skills, and (YES) short term memory. Can’t drive, can’t walk a straight line.
I was trying to have a little fun! I am still a rich ****, and employ 85 people.
I thought I could get some help for a mission. Instead I keep getting answered with “RTFM”. No page numbers, no reference, just give the noob so much shit he will never return! For those of you who really tried to help, I am very grateful. This might be the game for me, but this is sure not the place to ask questions.
Lesson learned!
Go ahead jump on, easy target! Hit the noob when he is down. Now you’re smarter than me, richer than me and you can beat me up! LOL!!!

RE: Troll on!
I’m SMRT and this is hard… etc., etc.
You need to take a step back. All of us have been in your position at one time and have spent hundreds of hours learning the sim – usually starting with reading the manuals. Everyone responds with a reference to the manuals because 95% of this shit is in there. Don’t understand something? Try googling it (here’s the first hit i got when i googled OSB F-16 falcon) or coming back to it later. You can’t expect to take it all in at once, even with a superior intellect like yours.
No one can hand-feed you through this and the manuals cannot be written to accommodate the lowest common denominator. Getting snarky and saying “who can possibly read/understand/remember all this shit” in a group with hundreds of guys who have and do, is obviously going to put people off and get you some short responses.
Try and go easy on all us imbeciles.

RE: IVC client doesn't automatically run up in MP
I need to run my IVC client separately as well, but it works 100% fine in 2D and 3D. Only started happening on my new computer using windows 10. I chalked it up to an AV issue (bitdefender) as well, but it persists after “white-listing” the Falcon BMS folder.

RE: Crazy number of ground kills
395. The old “octa-battalion stack bug” in an early version of the Battle for Sinai. Never mind the erratic line up… it was late + wine.

RE: CH Control Manager Driving me Crazy…
Finally got round to installing U1 and getting everything set back up…
But having problems with my CH Products Stick/Throttle/Pedals…
It seems to lose the axis bindings every time I exit the game…
AND it refuses to recognise the X/Y axis on the Throttle Mini-stick…they show as axis in Control Manager - but when I go to assign them to the cursor in Controllers>advanced>avionics it doesn’t list Controller 2 X axis or Y axis only z axis (which is obviously throttle)
Any clues?
Cheers!Greets!
A few things to check:
- is CHCM in mapped mode?
- not sure about 4.33, but if you started the sim in 4.32 without being in mapped mode, or without the controllers being plugged in, it would reset the assignments. I believe i got around this by making my keyfile read-only and trying my best to remember to have my shit lined up before starting the program!
BTW, you can simplify CHCM somewhat by setting your controllers in mapped mode on boot-up… see here: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?10154-Starting-CH-Control-Manager-in-Mapped-Mode
Let us know how it goes!

RE: Programming MFDs
The TFTs are cheaper and pretty easy to set up. I bought some on eBay for $60 each and built a little plywood base for them. Could never fly without it now.
-
RE: Programming MFDs
I thought that function had been built in to the 4.33.1 keyfiles?
Busted. I don’t use the pre-made keyfiles… make my own by selecting and clicking.
I will be making changes to implement this for sure. Thanks! -
RE: Programming MFDs
Another nice little tip: Use a program like autohotkey to play the MFD click audio file on each button press. Hate it when I push a button without the audio feedback.

RE: Looking for some good coop missions torun
There are a number of TE’s available in the “Base Operations” section of the forum. HOWEVER, you’re missing out on one of Falcon’s greatest assets if you don’t play the dynamic campaign with friends.

RE: Well, Here We Go Then.
How do you define DX shift states then?
See page 7-32 in the BMS Key File Manual located at C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs\Key Files & Input.
