RE: Falcon BMS Alternative Launcher (Easy Setup, Keep Joystick Assignments)
Thank you Fluke. I have the x56, only use it for the sim Orbiter. Its bulky to be honest. When I first purchased it, (it was a new release then) it was produced by Saitek. Out of box it had some issues. I contacted Saitek. They were slow on the response. Found out why they were slow and not cooperative (when they did reply) , because Logitech was in process of acquiring them to some extent. Well when Logitech officially acquired Saitek, Logitech honored the warranty and sent me a replacement. I trashed the original one. They had me cut the wires and send pictures of it prior to Logitech shipping their replacement x56 to me. I happily did as they instructed, I had nothing to lose even if they didn’t. Saiteks X56 had some major issues. The new replacement works well, that is , when I use it. Regardless , of being very functional, it feels bulky to me (((bulky meaning, I need quick access to certain controls on the throttle, but the throttle handles are big and controls are far apart –- when simming in BMS, one needs to have quick access and the x56 controls are spaced too far apart )))))))), and I feel I need to have the hands of a 7-6" person that plays basketball to handle the throttles. But anyway, I may give the x56 a try again. I repacked it, since I run with BMS more so than Orbiter. Also, I got a complaint from the wifey, she said that there were, Too, many HOTAS on my 50" desk. Plus, honey you don’t use the other, so why not just pack it up until you have a need for it. So I packed it up and stored it and only reconnect it until the x56 is needed for like Orbiter or FSX (can’t wait for 2020 to come out). I have the x52 pro in use 98 percent of the time for BMS and other stuff. But anyway, thank you Fluke for your response. Appreciated. By the way, I’m using the KeyFile Editor, ((currently experimenting with the Alternative Launcher, has nice features. Thank you to the developer chihirobelmo), for most of the keymapping
and using Logitechs’ programming software to control the mini/micro stick. I just thought there was a tool that had everything built-into it so I didnt have to use multiple tools . Your the best thanks Fluke. -
RE: Falcon BMS Alternative Launcher (Easy Setup, Keep Joystick Assignments)
Yep Mar and thanks for the reply.
In the past most x52 and x52 pro end users had to create a profile (((*.pro type file)))) using the X52 Pro HOTAS’ programming software specifically to use the Ministick to control the Radar cursor. Otherwise all the other controls were programmed outside of the Manufacturer"s software by using DX created profiles . We were stuck with this method and unfortunately had to use the HOTAS software only for the mini stick because of the analog inputs the mini sticked used to communicate. Also We needed to load this profile ( *.pro file) prior to opening BMS and to make the mini stick control the Radar cursor and also the DX profile is loaded within BMS for the remaining controls.
SIDE. NOTE:
I have heard of people altering their Windows ’ OS" Registry to overcome this, but that is out of the question and a no no for most END Users .
I’m not certain if the ALTERNATIVE LAUNCHER made thE more cumbersome method mentioned above a little less cumbersome by including a feature that a user can select the mini stick for such controllers like the X52, X52 PRO and more …. as an input to control the Radar cursor.

RE: Falcon BMS Alternative Launcher (Easy Setup, Keep Joystick Assignments)
From javelin10–—With an x56 you would definitely want to assign the left ministick to Radar Cursor (Cursor X/Cursor Y) and probably use the right ministick as a 4-way hat for CMS up/down/left/right, as in the real HOTAS.
Hello Javelin and all knowledgeable about this: Thanks in advanced.
So, How do users like myself and others that have X52 PRO program the mini - stick that is on the right side of the throttle to control the Radar cursor. (((( ( specifically for for the X52 Pro))) using the Alternative Launcher??? You / javelin have it working on the X56 . We need your insite for the X52 Pro. We need to use the the X52 PRO’s ministick to control the Radar cursor and are thinking that we are missing something in Alternative Launcher to do this. Or do we need to continue to use the Logitech HOTAS software to do this by setting the X and Y bands as in the past.???
Thank goodness Logitech acquired Saitek.
Coincidently I have a X56 but only use it for a space flight simulation and not BMS. I got a replacement X56 after Logitech acquired Saitek. I had issues with the X56 that Saitek manufactured and after Logitech took over , Logitech sent me an replacement made by them. It was better built , especially the throttle. The throttle responded better ( but the throttle is still huge to operate , that’s another story. But no more jitters at least)) The original Saitek produced X56 units had many flaws and jitters. I was the lucky one that had issues with Saitek’s version of the X56. Thank goodness Logitech saved the day. -
RE: How many of us MP BMS guys (and gals?) are there anyways?
Time is short more so here for me. I make the attempt almost every evening but something aways interfers. Like some unnatural unseen force doesn’t want to allow me some enjoyment Simming in BMS. But yeas ago I had much time and more kids around but much time to sim. Now no kids to interfere. And no time. WHY WHY. Only this moment to read this thread at early am is the moment I have. Trying my best to catch up to BMS news

RE: Begging for help, ready to give up.
if you read the first page the KeyFile Editor was the subject matter of the posts way back when . Not Hijacked. Sorry for you being in the wrong thread yourself.

RE: Begging for help, ready to give up.
Continued on Keyfile Editor and VBA . It says it has lost its VBA project when its opened in Excel. “This workbook has lost its VBA project, ActiveX controls and any other programmability-related features.” This is what happens when I opened the file for the first time of Falcon 4.33. I been away for some time. I’m definitely interested in using the keyfile editor using Excel 2007. Strange seems like no information is available regarding this VBA project stuff. This will be my first time opening the keyfile editor to enhance my gaming experience.
UPDATE CORRECTED THE ISSUE. –- If someone runs into this problem like me, you will Need to activate the Visual Basic Add-in within Excel, which will be found under Excel Options . Select Add-In to Activate the Ad-in Analysis Toolkit -VBA by hi-liting it then chose GO at the bottom of the box. Also make sure Excel Ad-ins is selected , found in a list box at the bottom of dialog box. You will find this list box next to the label Manage: . Chose Excel Ad-ins for this is where the toolkit resides. click Go to activate the Analysis Toolkit -VBA after you hi-lite it.
When I first discovered the missing Ad-in I was on the KEYSTROKES EDITOR worksheet. This Ad-in will allow the use of the ADVANCE button, for example, found on the KEYSTROKES EDITOR worksheet and logically this Ad-In most likely affects most of the commands written in Visual Basic throughout the KeyFile Editor. Keep that in mind.
This and a few other things were missing in the KeyFile editor. Some columns were hidden that display a particular button called “MARK” within the KEYSTROKES worksheet. My BMS 4.33 download was recently installed, and I just learned of the editor’s existence and said wow this will help me with setting up my flight equipment. I opened the Microsoft Excel application and opened the Keyfile Editor , then began reading the author’s instructions, including watching a video spoken in Greek regarding the editor and noticed a few other things missing in my copy of the KeyFile Editor, this was inclusion of the Visual Basic tool Ad-in missing. Well, I’m relieved now that I can move forward with the editor. I corrected all the issues I think? I can study now.

Keyfile Editor when opened in Excel . Excel says VBA is basically had been disabled. Although the settings under options in Excel have been checked or unchecked to allow the workbook to have free reign.

RE: 4.33.1 will release shortly: what you need to know and how to be prepared
When my PC is up to date , to a more modern stack that I deem up to par (with out the need to overclock), thereafter that ultimate upgrade, I can easily SIM on one of the most taxing, non-tactical flight sims out there. I will than know I will be certainly ready for the next BMS update. For I will know without doubt BMS 4.3.3.1 will run without a hitch on my updated system, if the other runs smoothly. At that point without question if BMS was to be placed on a shelve in a store, like when I acquired other sims of the past, I will certainly invest in the product , just to sim single player. I would think if it is placed on a shelve, or even would need to be purchased, there would be a validated reason. Also, for those developers out there who have put much time into BMS for several years , at their own expense would be compensated for their time. Which I am sure most of us are very grateful and should feel blessed to have them here, with such smarts, talent, honor and a big heart. That heart, is that they did all of this for us and our entertainment, our pleasures of simming and making our make believe worlds sort of real. Making us feel like kids again. The kid who had an imagination, before it was extinguished by something. I do feel like a kid again, just by touring around not shooting a thing. Just landing that rig, was fun. Just looking at that F-16 outside of the pit, with the sun glare reflecting off of that skin was great. Only if the pilot could walk to that jet. Only if I could go into a building and sim a discussion with my wingman after a battle or a mission. Well that would be almost too much to ask. Well that’s the kid in me. But this kid is glad to be made to feel like one again. We are fortunate I say, just to have programmers out there, regardless if they make a buck or not. I remember wanting many years ago to have sneakers, that some of my friends had. A pair of Converses back then, even Pro Keds were top of the line, along with Adidias. I wanted them bad. My father who was well rounded , toughened up by Vnam, told me , I would deserve those sneakers if I bought them myself. Too, around the same time I wanted walkie talkies. So, I want around the neighbor hood, asking people/neighbors if they needed me to cut their grass , rake their leaves, wash their windows, and more. During that winter, I shoveled snow. By the following year, I not only saved enough to buy, those sneakers for 12 bucks, and buy those walkie talkies, I was also able to buy school clothes at JCPenny’s. Wow. Funny thing was that I forgot why I wanted those sneakers so bad. They got dirty easily, because Converses mainly were sold in stores in white. But I did enjoy sharing that other walkie talkie with either my sister or my friend down the road. That was fun, especially when we went to bad at night by 7pm, before sundown in the summer, I was able to speak to my sister down the hall, instead of using tin cans and string. we had soo, much fun back then , big dreams and imaginations. I remember the fort we built on the ground than thereafter, a tree house, which our parents saw us doing, so my father and our neighbor’s father came out with the real tools, and actually built us a very nice tree house, or I would say our place to plan I strategies against opposing teams in a game of war. Our machine guns were sticks we found in the woods. Occassionally, when they build another home in that neighbor hood we would go on different sides of the lot where that new home was being built and call out our dirt hills where we would lodge dirt bombs at each other, thinking we were in a real war using hand grenades. I lost that imagination, somewhere many years ago. But I never forgot what my father said about being deserving and thankful. I still remember that. I am thankful for the Team BMS and volunteering their time to make my and of course our world a little less stressful, by bringing the kid out of me. I would pay for BMS if it ever was to be a sold product. Because I know if Bms was paid they would have more time to develop a even more emersive, more realistic sim that has ever been developed. Hey look what they can do on their own time. Just look. Its great. Thanks so much for working out the legal stuff, and putting your heart out there for people like us. THANK YOU. ENJOY. SORRY FOR THE LONG WINDED WORDS. For I know some of you are now playing the violin and fell asleep on this story already. But anyway…… thanks again and thanks to this community that is soo, into being there to make this a good place to forum in. Good night.

RE: TomsKorea2015-Reloaded
What version is that in the Pictures on this page , 4.32 or 4.33? However, regardless , I need 4.32 Tom Catz’s Korea. Where do I go for that. Is it the “Reloaded”“” version. Thanks for your efforts and response.

RE: TomsKorea2015-Reloaded
It has been so long , I forgot my way around town and some of the developers of Theatres. But I remember your work TK. However, Tom need your input. Im still using 4.32, regardless, so I need to know, what flavor of your work must I use, and even more the instructions. Im sure, objects like structures, vehicles, AI planes and more need to be revived as well. Korea is my world, so Im sticking with it for a while. I love toy stores , where most will get lost in, but the objective is Korea.
I need your help bringing my old system back to life with BMS. This computer has not been powered up for years. I think its been over a year since I have simmed on anything BMS, Janes, MS flight sims and more . Too many other things going on with the growing kids , now adults and more. I am a fan of the past, and simmed with my elders at work after hours, but those days are unfortunatley over. Too many other tasks, killed the end of the day hobbies for our little team of guys. Most of which were IT guys who built a internal network just for us to sim on. Now Im bringing the fun back home here, on my system after a long time away from BMS. I cant believe I am soo far behind, wow 4.33. I visited the page did a little reading, but the last I heard there is some legal things going on with it. But, regardless this is a 4.32 RIG, not a 4.33 RIG so, too Im simming alone, no MP for me. I just want to add your theatre to this fresh new install of BMS 4.32. Brand new fresh install, U1-U7. But I want all of your work to compliment it. Afterwards it will be all business for me flying in BMS. I like to keep it simple, re-learn skills that I have forgotten to an some extent. Boy I wear glasses now. I did not a year + ago. Hits like a brick it does, plus two surgerys months apart. Knock on wood. But BMS makes my day end smoothly. Like Brandy and even a Lager. Let me know, Im still updating my OS, Windows 7 on this one has not been touched. My windows 10 rig, cant be touched, regardless of its MB and Processing power, my wife uses that system too. It used for home business, lots of business media stuff she does at home. 4.33 will go well there, I think, I need to check the GPU, not sure regardless of what it does in rendering in 3D??? But I want my own system anyway, no sharing required on my limited time. Dont have to hear , honey I need to be on that tonight. Well anyway, Tom, I remembered your work back 2 years ago. I just want to start over fresh again. I just cant believe I have forgotten my way around , I’m uncertain on how to update those Korea folders, install properly when adding better tiles and more. Your info. and efforts will be appreciated. Besides I think you made changes to the whole process anyway. Take care. I did visit your Website.
