As far as the Intel screen shows, for air, our Defensive Priorities are None, and our Offensive Operations are geared toward Podgorica. For Ground, we’re set for a major offensive. My base hasn’t been hit at all, although my alternate base (Palese) has been, though only the radar was destroyed. Nothing else was damaged.

HQ No Longer Fragging My Squadron's Packages
Hey guys. I’m flying the Balance of Power campaign in Balkans 3.5, BMS 4.33.3. I’m on Day 2, ~22:00, and for about twelve game hours, HQ has not fragged any packages or flights for my squadron. Other packages across the board are still doing fine.
I understand that I can get much better results by fragging my own, but I’m much too lazy to frag every flight of every package in my squadron.
Any idea what’s going on here? Thanks!!

RE: Real World Fighter Pilots on Here?
Thanks, guys. I meant formation signals. Most of the ones I see are on A-10 cockpit cams on YouTube. I’ve been wondering what some if them mean, and was looking for one in particular, the Pitchout or Kiss Off. That seems to be in one of the links from Dee-Jay.

Real World Fighter Pilots on Here?
I’m asking because I have a few questions regarding hand signals in Youtube videos, among other things that I’m not sure the general community would know. Nothing really important, or classified, just out of curiosity.

RE: Balkans Training Range Location
I assume that you have installed the latest version 3.4 of Balkans theater, right?
So then go and check this folder: …\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Data*Add-On Balkans*\Docs.
There, you can find the previous mentioned map file, as also the rest valuable navigation stuff like “Balkans Navaids list.pdf” and “Balkans MAIP.pdf” ;).
Nikos.D’oh!! I was looking in the wrong Docs folder. Thanks for the clarification. I found the map. Cheers!!

RE: Balkans Training Range Location
You are welcome.
By the way, a Balkans theater map is into the “Docs” folder. File “Balkan Map.jpg”. Training range isn’t marked there.
Nikos. Thanks, but I don’t seem to have that map. All I have for charts is China, Japan, North Korea, Russia, South Korea, the chart tutorial, and the AIP. Any chance you could point me to a download? Google hasn’t yielded any results for a Balkans map.

Nikos. Thanks, I found it!! Much appreciated!!

RE: BMS 4.33U3 Crash on End Mission in Campaign
Just a heads up, the issue is now fixed, although I’m not sure exactly what fixed it and still don’t know what went wrong. Thanks for all the help guys!!

RE: BMS 4.33U3 Crash on End Mission in Campaign
Thanks, guys. I just tried windowed mode, but the 2d screen only took up the left half of my default resolution (my default resolution is 1360x768). Every time after the first time launching it, it crashes before getting to the 2d screen.

RE: BMS 4.33U3 Crash on End Mission in Campaign
My apologies, I’m not sure if it matters, but I’m flying the Powder Keg campaign, not the Balance of Rower, with the 22nd FS from Gioa del Colle.

RE: BMS 4.33U3 Crash on End Mission in Campaign
Restart the game after 2nd flight or so, should keep exiting fine. It almost always crashes for me after I do 3 missions in a row, but restarting despite being not a comfortable solution just makes sure it won’t ctd.
Smells like a memory leak
I almost always only fly one mission per BMS startup. Even if I start BMS and only fly the BAI mission, i.e. no other TE’s, furballs, or campaign missions, it still always CTD’s in the same place.

BMS 4.33U3 Crash on End Mission in Campaign
Hey guys. I’ve been flying the Balance of Power campaign in the Balkans for a while now with no problems. No, out of nowhere, I do a BAI flight, all goes well, I return and land then shut down, and end the mission, and BMS CTD’s before it can get to the 2d map with the debriefing screen. I’m attaching my crash log with this post. All help is greatly appreciated!!

RE: TGP Point Track Headaches
It could be the drift with the cursor is playing a factor. I’ll try using my Warthog throttle in the same TE and see how that works. I’ll try Ground Stabilization as well.

RE: TGP Point Track Headaches
Here’s the video, guys. I just got done recording and uploading it. I hope this clears up any confusion as to my methodology. Thanks for the help!!

RE: TGP Point Track Headaches
Thanks for the replies, guys. I’m about to record a short video demonstrating exactly what my process is and the results. I should be done with it some time tonight, probably late. I’ll upload the video to YouTube and post the url here.

RE: TGP Point Track Headaches
Hey Redshift! I am using AG mode.
I get into the air, get the Mav’s powered up and timed out, then I select AG mode on the TGP. I then use GM mode on the FCR to find a building (I use large and small buildings), then slew the TGP crosshairs over it and press TMS Up. This is where my headaches come in.
I also know I can use the Weapons page, but the TGP makes it so much easier to find and identify targets.

TGP Point Track Headaches
Hey guys!! I’m having a strange problem with the TGP. I’m trying to boresight my Mavs, but when I slew the TGP over a building and press TMS Up, the TGP starts tracking across the ground instead of locking the building in IR Point Track. Range and angle off boresight don’t matter. In the extremely rare event that it does actually lock something, it takes many many MANY tries before it does. Any ideas? This is killing me, since I can’t boresight my Mavs and train with them.
As a side note, the TGP does the same thing if i try to lock a tank or similar target.
Thanks guys!!

RE: TGP With CCIP?
Thanks for all the responses guys!! First of all, let me explain my personal reasoning for using CCIP instead of CCRP…
As I said in my OP, I’m attacking the remnants of SAM sites, most of which have ZPU AAA guns still in the immediate area. Plus, using Rockeyes, which are unguided, the higher the altitude of release, even in CCRP, the lower the accuracy because even the slightest abnormality in attitude, i.e. being banked one degree one way or another, could make the bomb miss, and this event only increases with altitude. Therefore, I want to do a low-altitude release. With ZPUs in the area, I do not want to fly straight and level for a CCRP release that may miss. With CCIP, I can roll in in a dive, giving the guns a much harder target to hit, and put the pipper right on the target to release. BOOM! Perfect hit.
Second, I’ve figured out how to combine the TGP with CCIP in a way that has given me an almost-100% hit rate!! I find a target with the TGP, slew it to the base of the launcher/vehicle/gun, and instead of going for a point-track lock, I press the Nose Wheel Steering button to switch to CCIP. Since the TGP makes whatever point it was last looking at the SPI, the SPI diamond on my HUD is still on the target even in CCIP. Now I just roll in, walk the pipper to the center of the SPI diamond, release, and BOOM!! Shack on the target!! It’s working great, and it’s made these mop-up missions some of my favorites thus far!
I hope I may have shed some light not only on an alternate way to attack targets, but also given everyone a glimpse into my thinking and reasoning for this method of attack.

TGP With CCIP?
Hey guys! I’m flying a DEAD mission to mop up a disabled Sa-2 site near the FLOT, with the intent of continuing to destroy further sites using Mk. 20 Rockeyes. The problem is that I can slew the FCR with the TGP onto the target area and designate targets in CCRP mode, but I’d like to roll in in CCIP mode for better accuracy. When i switch to CCIP in the SMS, however, the FCR seems to turn off, the TGP can’t be slewed, and I can’t make the FCR or TGP SOI. I’m having alot of trouble acquiring targets with my Mk.1 eyeballs due to the launchers and supply trucks being mostly in the trees. The TGP can pick them up fine, obviously, but I can’t seem to use the TGP or FCR once I switch to CCIP. Am i doing something wrong? Can someone give me the process to do this? Thanks!!
