Just a heads up that the TM MFD Cougar Pack is on sale on the TM shop: Ā£64.99 (Ā£81.99 with shipping to UK).
A very easy way to add a lot of assignable backlit DirectX buttons for BMS.

when you say āNeeded to run as Adminā, what did you need to run as Admin - BMS Launcher or the Stream Deck app?

That was from 2002. Frugal looking both cheeky and cool ā¦ and I look like Iām wearing my Dadās clothes. WTF was I thinking?!! :uham:
Yes, you had to work pretty hard to get banned at Frugās board.
Frugal was always a lot of fun. Great memories!
At 54 I been told to foxtrot oscar more times than I can remember, by him included. But I aint no suck hole, I mostly deserved it.
LOL!
Ran into the same problem myself with Kaspersky Total Security. Paused Kaspersky, then re-unzipped the files using Winzip. Now the directx_Jun2010_redist.bsf is visible and the install went ahead without any issues.
I didnāt get any warning from Kaspersky that it was quarantining or doing something with the files I was unzipping.
Thanks for the solution everyone!
Hey Kolbe
Many thanks for getting back to me. Using OTWRadioMenuStep and OTWRadioMenuStepBack work well to step through the menu pages - thanks.
Ideally Iād prefer not to tie up another 2 physical buttons for this, but instead have RadioTowerCommand DX assignment behave exactly as the keyboard assignment. If you can mention it (I understand it woudnāt be a priority) on the Dev forums that would be cool. They may not realise they behave differently.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Hey all
Has anyone come across this issue and has a solution for it?
I want to assign (for example) the equivalent of the Tower callback to a DirectX button. But it behaves differently to a keyboard key.
If I press āTā on my keyboard, the Tower menu comes up, and stays up, and as I press and release the āTā key the different sub pages appear.
If I try to replicate this with DirectX programming, it doesnāt work. Pressing the DirectX button displays the Tower menu and it stays up. Pressing it again, the Tower menu disappears. I canāt cycle through the sub pages.
The programming Iām using is:
RadioTowerCommand 192 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
Iāve tried the various options for the 3rd and 5th section of the statement with no success. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Does using the grip ( or indeed a different grip such as the RS F-16 make any difference to any of the procedures?
Nope. :thumb:
Get the FSSB, without a shadow of a doubt. Thatās your best investment, your flying will improve dramatically in BMS and theyāre built to last. Itās also very easy to install.
Buying the Warthog is a more expensive option, because youāre then into additional costs (Iād still replace itās stickās gimbal system with a force sensor mod and youāll want a TUSBA.) However if youāve got the finances, thatās an interesting option, and you can always use the Warthog throttle as an extra source of switches for BMS ā¦ always handy.
personal experience sez problems are gonna arise, this should be released as an additional theater, not a direct modification of the core bms files, the te_new.tac namely.
The reason Moort speaks from experience with this, is that in all the years when we were testing the numerous internal releases of BMS, we saw several issues that arose from newer installs with pilots backing up and then reverting back to older SAVE folder contents, which resulted in different pilots having different versions of that file. Caused some interesting issues. So just be careful and ensure you backup the files as installed, and revert back to them when flying online with others who arenāt flying this mod.

Donāt use Jagstangās files ā¦ theyāre no longer suitable for BMS.
One of them is a terrible pilot and I kick his behind regularily in DF. He fights like a little kitty.
This is sweet. If he denies my comment he exposes himselfā¦hahaha
Priceless!!
Awesome offer to the BMS community Bad Boy. Kudos!

Yes, yes, yes ā¦ but why canāt it make me a coffee?
This is as important to my preflight planning as all the clever stuff your software can do!!
