RE: BMSNav - Kneeboards and Briefings for iOS and Android
@terminus
Hi, I tested it yesterday on my android tablet and the first approach is promising. Thanks for that.
What I think could be improved is the presentation of the briefing. What BMS “spits out” is not really helpful during the flight. I would like to see a representation like the one used in Falcas’ WDP. Properly structured and modelled on the real “lineup and coordination cards”.
Thanks in advance, Prot -
RE: some observed mistakes in the redesigned F-15C
@tiag said in some observed mistakes in the redesigned F-15C:
Two possibilities here:
- Something is broken on your install again. Very unlikely since you reinstalled.
I think so too. - Your keybind is not only for the gear but also to the declutter HUD?
It happens only if I use “takeoff runway”. When I use “takeoff ramp” F-15C works as it should do.
Did you check in AL for the F-15 if the keybind for your gear retract only does that?
Yes I did. No failures observed.

some glitches in Balkans Theater..
Our squadron tested the Balkan Theatre yesterday. We wanted to prepare for an event.
Mission: Refuelling at night from Gioia del Colle airfield.
In the process, we noticed the following:- There are lit areas on the pre-launch line, the cockpit is lit but there are no light sources visible. (no screenshot available)
- There is no taxiway or runway lighting but there is an approach strobe and the PAPI lights.
- The visibility of the aircraft lights is poor. Anyone who has flown at night knows that even on dark nights the aircraft lights can be seen for many miles.
Edit: wrong theater specified

Landing on an airfield without radio at night
I recently had the problem of having to land on an airfield with radio failure. My aircraft was hit by a missile in a fight over the Adriatic Sea, so I noticed failures of various systems, such as both MFDs, gyro, radio, heading indication in the HUD, RADAR altimeter… The engine was working and I also had a speed and barometric altitude indication.
It was night and although I could see the ground and the clouds well (as on a moonlit night) but there was no moon to orientate myself by. I had the feeling I was flying west (towards Italy), reaching the coast and looking for an airfield. I tried to recognise an airfield from 15000 ft, but this was not possible due to the cloud cover of about 4/8. I then descended below the cloud base and after about 10 minutes of intensive searching I recognised a very faintly visible approach strobe, which I used for orientation. Apart from that, there was nothing to be seen from about 1500 ft, no Papi, no threshold fire, nothing. I then flew a circuit and estimated the height above ground. Only at an altitude of about 300 ft could I guess the runway and on touchdown I also saw the side lights, these were heavily dimmed.My question to the community: Is there a way to animate the tower to turn on the lights?
My question to the developers: could something like this be implemented?
BTW: I did not land in Italy, but in Albania, which is neutral in this TE.

some observed mistakes in the redesigned F-15C
I know that the F-15C is far from being at the stage of development where it is almost perfect.
I have noticed several things recently after the release of 4.37.3 that I think need to be improved.- If you perform a ramp start, the automatic retraction of the flaps does not work. However, it does work if you use “take-off runway”.
- No pitch ladder appears after a start via “take-off runway”.
- If you switch to the AA mode (ADI, which is automatically switched on after the ramp start, switched off), you will not get a display of g-force and Mach number.
- There are shadow numbers behind the fuel flow digits. It is sometime difficult to read the numbers.
I’m not sure if anybody found same problems which are not reported yet.

Sorry for many edits. I had to found out how to link pictures to the forum.

RE: Start sequence order by tower
@jayb
Sorry, it was not the take off time, it was the taxy time given by ground. -

Without a working radio? No.
Thats bad.
In real life there are procedures established to bring down an a/c without radio.
