Thanks for your reply! I have another button (big red one) on my stick (VKB gunfighter MCG) mapped as weapon release. This will usually fire a sidewinder in dogfight mode. However, it doesn’t neccesarily mean that the gun will fire in this mode. Is it possible that I am messing something up during the ramp start?

Just revisting this, I am fooling around a bit and trying to figure out how to shoot guns but it’s kind of hit or miss. If i go to DF override it switched to aim9’s but I can’t shoot my gun. Then there seems to be some sort of way where i can actually change to guns once all aim9’s are depleted and then it’ll fire. Another time it switched to guns and there was no way to fire the AIM9’s. Can anyone offer any insight here? I have my first and second detent correctly mapped, I thought in df it was always supposed to have guns hot.

X52 ministick movement stuck
When I use the mini stick which is mapped to the radar cursor to the right, the radar cursor will keep moving to the right infinitely. It’ll stop if I press the stick in the other direction but the cursor will keep moving if I let the stick go, which makes bms virtually unplayable. Now I’ve read about this problem elsewhere but I haven’t seen any constructive solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I sent you a PM. Furthermore, I just noticed that if I press the mousewheel button on the controller it activates the RF cycle, which is mapped to ctrl+r in the keyfile. However, according to the profile it should press the home button (radar stdby), so there seems to be some discrepancy between the button the SST is supposed to activate and the one it actually activates?

I got my X52 yesterday and downloaded the updated version of Viking’s mapping. I added all files like KesMonkey described and changed them with the Viking version. However, my ministick is has no effect whatsoever in the game. When I go to the control panel for Saitek I can see the input for the ministick so it’s obviously not broken, but I can’t get it to have any effect in the game, making me unable to use my radar. Does anyone have any tips? Thanks in advance!

I had no addon or anything, but there’s 3 default theaters and it freezes after that
However!, I managed to by pressing alt-tab during the countdown. If i go to a different program through that function it will in fact launch the session. I tested this a few times and it works flawlessly for some reason. It still makes theater changes or instant action/dogfighting/anything without a count-down unplayable. I really have no idea how this is possible, or what I can do to fix it. As i said earlier, it worked fine in the beginning, and I reset my entire pc to factory after it stopped functioning and reinstalled BMS. As of now, I am able to use the BMS in any mode that has a countdown…

Anyone have any clue? Right now it even crashes if I switch theater. Basically it just freezes, so I don’t think there’s a crash log (what I typed above is all I could find in logs),
I’m running an intel I7 6500u with an nvidia geforce gtx 950m and 8gb of RAM. Before 2 days ago BMS would run perfectly fine, and now I can’t get it to do anything.

The same crash/shutdown happens if i try to switch theater. It’s like my computer doesn’t try to process it, it just shuts down. If I don’t ctrl+alt+dlt, my screen will just stay frozen in the current state

Won't go past countdown
So I have a new PC, had it for about 3 days now and my it was running Falcon BMS just fine, until today. Now, whenever I try to enter a session it will count down to whatever option i pick (so 20min for ramp) and then just stop. It won’t continue to the loading screen after that, it just stops. When I go to task manager it already shows the text that BMS has stopped working. Does anyone know of this issue? My PC is brand new and it worked just fine before, on the same device. As far as I know, nothing has changed. I’ve reinstalled BMS but it didn’t fix the problem.

Thanks guys! I figured the chocks through the tower freq and indeed, the issue with the FPI(meatball) was fixed as well. (In the simpler F4AF the meatball is in your HUD by default, independent of alignment, I just installed BMS so I was trying to set up my controls without properly alligning first).
I have a few more issues, like the data cartridge indeed which is something new for me but I’ve found some useful tutorials/manuals for this so I’ll figure it out and the avionics fault/IFF staying on as warnings, but I heard that’s because IFF is not implemented yet, and the cannon not firing in any mode with master arm on, despite setting my trigger to second trigger detent. (I have a very limited flight stick atm, t.flight hotas-x, due to limited funds I upgraded my PC first so I could play BMS and warthog/x55 is on the shopping list for the near future)
Definitely happy with BMS so far though, despite the difficulties I’m having, it adds a layer of realism that AF, although great, was lacking (and visuals ofcourse).
Cheers! Btw if anyone has any tips on the trigger detent setup to fire the cannon with only 1 trigger step on my hardware, that’d be great.

Issue with setting up HUD

I just downloaded BMS after playing falcon AF for quite a while but I’m having some issues setting up for flight. First of all, I can’t get the tower to remove the chocks. This feature was not included in AF, however, when I select the remove chocks command from the tower comms, nothing happens. Second of all, my HUD has a weird setup which i am unable to change. Most importantly, I can not get a meatball in my HUD. Mind you, there is no issue when I enter a TE enroute. However, from ramp start I can’t get the jet set up properly, even when following some ramp start tutorials I’ve encountered. I know these must be some incredibly nooby questions but I’m quite stuck, especially with the HUD situation which makes the game unplayable.
