Great to know oakdesign, cheers for the feedback. I just got things running smoothly on my computer after a fresh re-install of Win7 so will stick with it until I upgrade my hardware in the future.

RE: Wondering which is the latest version of BMS that can be played in 32bit mode
@BibleClinger - No, its installed in a standalone directory on one of my hard drive partitions.
@SemlerPDX - Cheers. I had been thinking about upgrading to Win10 but thought that may create more problems. Does BMS run well on this platform?

RE: Potential key mapping problem?
Hey Sungad
Sure enough that was the problem. I set the cursor slew deadzone to large and it completely fixed the problem. Your a life saver!!
Thanks mate

RE: Wondering which is the latest version of BMS that can be played in 32bit mode
Well I worked it out in the end. After doing a bit more research I found out how to launch the -mono command from the command prompt. This made a bunch of files under the log folder which I can make available if anyone is interested (I believe I have a few errors judging by the titles of the logs…).
However I think I found the problem by mistake. I was running through the -mono command for a second time and this time I ran the ‘cmd’ function in windows 7 by right clicking on the icon and selecting ‘run as administrator’ when I selected the launcher button on the home screen it immediately started the game! Upon exiting the game I tried to start the game again by clicking on the desktop Falcon icon. I got the same response as before ‘Falcon has stopped working’. So I then right clicked the icon and tried running it ‘as administrator’ and it worked again.
I have no idea on the science behind this, but I´m just glad it is playable once again, and in 64bit.
Thank you so much for your help guys I really am appreciative.

Yeah its not great, totally agree. Unfortunately I’m not that tech savy…
I’m unsure how I would run BMS with the -mono command line argument. Could you direct me how to do this?

RE: Wondering which is the latest version of BMS that can be played in 32bit mode
Hey SemlerPDX
I forgot to mention I had actually done a fresh factory reset of Windows 7 prior installing BMS. I had also installed SP1 and the windows updates recommended.
I gave the System File Checker a run this morning and it did infact find a couple of corrupted files which it repaired and eventually finished 100% complete.
I then tried BMS again but got the same error.
I guess its back to 4.33 unless you have any other suggestions?

RE: Wondering which is the latest version of BMS that can be played in 32bit mode
Checked for a crash log but there was nothing registered under that folder.
Looking like a roll back to 4.33

Wondering which is the latest version of BMS that can be played in 32bit mode
Hi guys,
Had a couple of bugs in my older version of BMS and so decided to do a fresh reinstall (after using the setup.exe to properly uninstall) to the latest version (4.34 U4). The installation went flawlessly but upon trying to launch BMS I see a quick flash of the black intro screen before I get the infamous ‘Falcon BMS has stopped working’ message. System specs are as follows:
i7 1.6ghz
8gb ram
Windows 7 64bit O/SI remember I used to run my previous version of BMS in 32bit mode because for some reason it would not work in 64bit. So i tried to find an option in the config to try and do the same however I cannot find one. I have since read somewhere online that this latest version does not support 64bit.
2 questions:
1st
I wonder if anyone has any ideas how I can get around this problem?. I find it strange that my operating system is 64bit yet previously I could only run in 32bit (I think it was ver 4.32). I would love to be up to date with the latest version but realise this might not be possible on this computer.2nd
Can anyone tell me which is the latest version I could run in 32bit mod, and where to find this installation file it if it is even still available?.Thanks for your time guys.

Potential key mapping problem?
Hi guys,
Been a long time since I dusted off my Flight Sim but had some time recently and decided to jump back in.
I started off with some instant action to try and get familiar again and tried some dog fighting using the HMCS. I have been trying to lock targets by using the TMS up command off boresight. I watched some tutorial videos on youtube and was directed to select TWS mode and then whilst looking out the cockpit hold TMS up to bring up a circle in my HMCS HUD and bring that over a target and release TMS up to soft lock the target. I found this to work once or twice but then it stopped working altogether. I did not change any controls before this happened. It just simply stopped working?
I did some more research and read somewhere online that you need to be in Radar mode ACM, and then select Bore. I have tried this and can select ACM mode no worries but as soon as I click on ‘Slew’ (the default mode) to try to change it to Bore, it simply flashes really quickly to Bore and then straight back to Slew. It simply will not let me change it. I try clicking the Slew button both with my mouse and with the key it the OSB 2 button is assigned too and the same thing happens. It almost feels as when I click it allows it, but some other key binding or something is over-riding it?
Any help with any of this would be extremely appreciated. To be honest I’m not even sure if I am doing things correctly?
Thanks in advance guys, can’t wait to get back into the sky
P.S.
I have a TM warthog flight stick and an older TM Cougar throttle running through a Realsimulator USB.

RE: Is there an updated Weapon Delivery Planner 3.7.3 manual?
First off, thank you Snowman and Darkman, appreciate your fast response.
I probably should have explained that I am aware of the method you describe in order to create a precision steer in BMS and have done this many times. However, I find that if I make a mistake on a campaign mission or am shot down etc, I like to discard the mission and replay it. Because I must then go and recon targets again, create new threat circle etc, I decided it was time to learn how to use WDP as I had heard that this program allows you to save this sort of information so you can replay a mission without having to do this over again?
Do you guys know if it is possible to assign individual targets in WDP as opposed to an entire SA2 site, for example? I can see there is a ‘Targets’ tab, but can’t work out how to use it?
Thanks again guys -
Is there an updated Weapon Delivery Planner 3.7.3 manual?
Hi all.
I have just downloaded WDP 3.7.3 and am trying to learn its workings. I have found a copy of the WDP ver 2.0 manual, however there has are obviously been some updates between ver 2.0 and the later 3.7.3 build that I don´t have information on. I wonder if there is a more up to date version of the manual available anywhere?
Specifically I am trying to work out how to create PPT´s for my data cartridge. I have worked out how to create a PPT for an SA2 site for example, however I am unsure how to assign specific targets within that site. More specifically, I am wondering how to create a PPT for the Fan Song or an individual SA2 within the site? I have noticed there is a ‘Targets’ Tab under the ‘Datacard’ tab and imagine this is the place to do it, but I cannot seem to find the targets I am looking for in the list, and also cannot seem to find an area to enter the specific coordinates (that I found from reconing a site in game).
Any help greatly appreciated!

RE: Need help assigning VAC voice activation key to Cougar TQS
Sorry Hoover, I was refering to VAC as ‘Voice Activated Commands’ software. Really appreciate your help anyway!
Zoomout, I´m still really confused as to how to go about doing this… I have tried searching online to download 'FOXY´but cannot find the program? I am often pointed towards Thrustmaster’s T.A.R.G.E.T software, however my Cougar Throttle is connected via Realsimulators TUSBA R2 adapter, which unfortunately is not supported by T.A.R.G.E.T software
You said ´’An other way of doing it is to assign the VAC (key callback) to the shifted layer of the same button’ - is this method using FOXY software also?
With regard to my key file, I did not assign two DX callbacks to the the same key (sorry I explained poorly…). What I meant to say was that my original UHF switch callback looked like this:
SimTransmitCom1 34 -1 -2 0 0x0 126
Here you can see that the UHF callback is assigned to DX button 35 (or Falcon BMS button 34).
I then determined that the F 8 key was represented by the code 0x42
So I then inserted 0x42 into the callback to look like this:
SimTransmitCom1 34 -1 0x42 0 0x0 126
Any thoughts on what I may have done wrong here?

Need help assigning VAC voice activation key to Cougar TQS
Hi guys,
I recently uploaded Darkman’s VAC profile and would like to map the default voice activation command key (F8 ) to my Cougar Hotas UHF switch and am having difficulty.
I found this post https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showth…2C+%27Armed%27
in which ddoc was trying to do the same thing.I mapped F8 to a random callback, then edited the key file to find the particular code that relates to the F8 key. I found this code to be 0x42, and then inserted it into the code associated with my TQS UHF radio switch as follows:
TQS UHF radio Callback with code - SimTransmitCom1 34 -1 -2 0 0x0 126
TQS UHF radio Callback with code adapted for F8 function - SimTransmitCom1 34 -1 0x42 0 0x0 126
However this does not work in game when I hit my UHF switch. If I press F8 in game and say one of the commands, I get the correct response from my wingman/tower etc so I know VAC is working in the background. I just can´t seem to get my DX HOTAS button to work.
Am I going about this the right way? Any help greatly appreciated.

Yup, learnt that the hard way…

RE: SAM Confusion
That’s interesting to hear. Sounds like like the developers are making things more and more realistic which is awesome. I have been flying the HARM training mission (ver 4.33 not 4.44u1) and although I get early spikes on the RWR from the SA3 and SA4, the SA6 really tries to lure me in before it switches on its Radar. I find I have to fly well within its engagement zone before I can detect it (even though I know its position from briefing), and so have been trialing different methods (mainly with the HAD) to disable it. If I select the SA6 TGT steer on my HSD and fire a HARM at it from outside its engagement zone, it doesn’t seem to work and I wondered whether it was because the SA6 was completely silent. Do you know if my HARM will fly directly to that steer and explode, regardless of whether or not the SA6 radar is emitting? I had been thinking that maybe it just ‘fizzled out’ because when it got close it had nothing to lock onto. Or is it more likely what you have just explained, i.e. that the improved modelling in 4.33 is probably allowing the missle to either miss the target completely or only damage it?
I haven’t learnt how to use the JSOW’s yet but just watched a video on them and am keen to try them out. Looks like you can loft them from a fair distance out.
