DED Cruise page.

Hello Forum
I’m going through the DED page description in Red Dog’s manual and am somewhat confused by the data being shown in my cockpit.
Having taken off on a simple circuit heading for steer point 2, with TOS selected, the Rqd GS spools up to 1700 kts (!).
The other data shown is as follows: System 10:13:17
Des TOS 10:12:13
ETA. 10:14:50.How can the TOS be earlier than the system time and what about the 1700kts speed?
Also, if I may……when the home page is selected with only 6 miles from home plate, the recommended altitude is an amazing 43,578 ft.
Obviously, I’m missing something, please enlighten.
Thanks.

Means you’re already late. TOS was when you were SUPPOSED to be there. ETA is prediction of when you will be there.
You need to get up earlier instead of sleeping in.

If the explanation of the manual are not enough … maybe take a look to those videos which are showing the TOS page:

Very helpfull videos Dee-Jay, thank you

Bear in mind also that once you’ve viewed the des TOS and you come out of it on the DED, you can still see your ETA to currently selected steerpoint on your HUD in bottom right, where it also has the range and steerpoint number selected.

.But then again the Crs computer is wrong. Even flying at unlimited GS there is no way to reach Des TOS considering you’re already a minute late. Or do I get the laws pf physics wrong. Maybe the speed of 1700 kts does turn back time? :blowpar:

I think it depends on the HUD master mode. NAV has ETA while AG (and most/all of the other shooty modes) is ETE if I remember right. The schedule caret is available in all modes but the RND/ENDR/HOME only in NAV.
-
you mean in real or in BMS Frederf?
ETA is displayed when TOS is mode selected
ETE is displayed when TOS is not mode selectedin all BMS master mode

What is ETE?

ETE : Estimated Time Enroute
ETA is Estimated Time or Arrival -

You’re totally right. I was thinking it switched but it only changes to TTRelease in AG/CCRP. ETA/ETE is whether CRUS-TOS is selected or not.
