Just out of curiosity, what happened with F.L.A.R.E. and this pit:
-
the f14 pit was never a BMS project, i believe a fella by the name of mykinge (sp) was working on it.

And Polak’s tiles were better than FLARE, but maybe an option for the future if improved upon.
-
More complete certainly but they were so different in look and feel I don’t think it’s fair to say better or worse.
-
WOOOOO! This has made my weekend!!! Superb! 3-4 weeks video was awesome also, but dl now!!! Thanks BMS!!!

what the hell did I miss?
-
hi all I want to ask how realistic is the hornet? flight model, avionics and detail? thanks
also is there anybody here playing with 21:9 monitor? is it supported?
-
Its still a viper in Hornet clothes. Pit is fully ramp startable, rwr and some hud is based on hornet.
-
From what I saw in the trailer the Hornet isn’t very realistic at all as far as the cockpit goes…for one, Hornets have always had a color moving map of some variation. No telling about the FM…and if the indexer bracket in the HUD is the same as the Viper, it’s backwards from the real thing and you’ll be learning to do CV approaches and landings in a most “unrealistic” fashion - compare it to the old Janes sim…that is still the most accurate one on the table as far as systems go. But it is old…and it’s FM is based on the F-15 and not accurate.
Doing an “accurate” F/A-18 is not a trivial undertaking…

Im not sure exactly where it says the F/A-18 is completely accurate. This is still an F-16 study sim. Some devs have put time into coding specific avionics such as the ALR-64, but its still an F-18 model with f-16 avionics.
-
Its still fun to fly and carrier landings add extra stress to mission.
-
Many thanks for this awesome work!
