Is this server currently up? I can’t seem to connect. Do you have to do the port forwarding thing if you just want to connect? I assumed it is just to host. Thanks. I tried hopping on the TS3 but no one was in the bms channel.

It was down for several hours but has been back on for at least 12hrs. The best place to ask is their veterans-gaming.com site Correct me if I`m wrong but for successful multiplay port forwarding should be done. Lack of it probably doesn’t stop a test connection though ?

It crashes often when players attempt to run their own campaigns along with the VG Korean War Campaign we host 24/7. Running a Tactical Engagement with friends on our server is fine, but running an alternate campaign is not okay. As I am getting back into flying regularly now that I have a computer again, I will be monitoring the server more closely than I have been over the past 2 years. I want to encourage players to join our server and play the Korea War Campaign that we run, or play a TE with a few friends, but I will be ending the server when I see players running a campaign, and those players may find 45 minutes from taxi to target wasted when the server restarts to wipe their campaign from the RAM, preventing the inevitable system crash. For the record, this is not run on the same modern server we use at VG to run the rest of our games.
For those (like me) who are committed to the progression of the simulated war over the course of each week, I will be saving and loading from saves upon server crash or server reset, as opposed to a simple and quick restart from the Day 1 save file.
Please feel free to fly with us, but respect our wishes regarding concurrent campaigns.

Server is Updated to 4.33 and is back up and running.
The 120th out of Seosan has no AI flight generation at the moment, nor do Kunsan or Osan for the time being as we try to get the campaign to last longer than a day or two.
Report any issues to BLuDKLoT, he can get a hold of me if needed, and the original post will be updated to reflect the new version required for this server.

Hi i joined today for some testing and had some mysterious AWACS radar calls which only my AI wingman could see and attack? No Migs anywhere close to me after checking ACMI…
Also some strange F-16’s models with chocks floating underneath while flying.
I have checked my ports are forwarded correctly but after checking the manual i think it may have something to do with the bandwidth number selection? I had it at 300 as suggested by the server but the new manual is suggesting minimum 500?
Any thoughts? -
Now that players connection speed is shown for some reason, I notice plenty connecting at 200. Wrongly of course but seem to get away with it. II,m guessing it’s shown as part of new code to allow servers to reject low bw users ?
Just noticed a post by Mav-jp under the documents topic that refers to this but has not made it clearer to me.

You can force the client to not able to connect the online session by using a lower bandwidth than the one you set in the config file (check into the “Multilayer Settings” section)

@TCknight - server will not be using 64bit as it would exclude players with 32bit systems. 64bit users can use the 32bit version with little average difference, but 32bit users cannot use the 64bit version. It’s a matter of common ground for this public server.
@huge - not sure about those issues. If you have only experienced them on our server, it may be part of some host of issues we have been having. Due to such issues, the VG Falcon BMS Server is down today (November 18th) for maintenance. May be down for a few hours depending on updates and download times.

I get the : wrong acdata files message. I have some different models (the Phantom package i edited) and .dat files installed but i never had in 4.32 this error. I only can join if i have Vanilla install?

At this time, we’re enforcing a minimum bandwidth of 500 from all players, but we may go as high as 1000 depending on how this next week goes, and the reports from pilots. Server has it’s bandwidth set around 25000 and this is a fraction of its actual upload speeds with packets from 6-9MB. Here’s hoping this fixes the dropped textures and missing airbases. Please feel free to report issues at our website (or here) and we will try to address them as quickly as possible.

Any thoughts?We’ve changed the default bandwidth requirement to 500 and we may go as high as 1000 - for now, players will need to set at least 500 to join the server. The AWACS problem is a big one, and we are trying to get to the bottom of it this week. Thank you for being patient, everyone! We want this server to run as best as it can, and we will figure it out.
