Israel 1980s - UOAF edition

I’m also having a play with the 1988 Egypt campaign and I suddenly noticed Egyptian M1A1 units. 1988 struck me as a bit early for them?
According to “The M1A1 Abrams Tank in Egypt” by Lieutenant Colonel Thomas O. Begasse (US Army Chief of the M1A1 Technical Assistance Field Team (TAFT), Cairo, Egypt) and Major David E. Sparrow (US Army Materiel Management Officer for the M1A1 Technical Assistance Field Team (TAFT), Cairo, Egypt):
The United States supports the Arab Republic of Egypt with financial aid and security
assistance. One of the largest efforts in the U.S. security assistance arena is the co-production and
fielding of the M1A1 Abrams, the U.S. Army’s main battle tank, by the Egyptian Land Forces
(ELF).
Along with the co-production of 524 MlAl’s, is the fielding, New Equipment Training
(NET), and follow-on support for the Egyptian Army. This is the mission of the U.S. Army
M1A1 Technical Assistance Field Team (TAFT). The M1A1 TAFT was originally set up in 1989
to assist the Egyptian Land Forces in preparing for the introduction of the tank into their combat
units. Once fielding began in June 1993, the team was expanded to eleven members to provide
hands-on technical assistance. So, according to this document, the Egyptian front line units did not started to field the M1A1 until 1993?

hahaha what the hell…. I’ll look into the Su-22
It has a default ITO skinand yes, we need to remove all the egyptian abrams! Ground forces are nowhere near complete.
“Even though the Egyptian military became oriented toward the West after the October 1973 War, it still had large amounts of Soviet equipment in its arms inventory. As of 1989, an estimated five of the twelve divisions and portions of other units had made the transition to American equipment and order of battle. The stock of main battle tanks consisted of 785 M60A3s from the United States, together with more than 1,600 Soviet-made T-54, T-55, and T-62 models. Some of these older Soviet tanks were being refitted in the West with 105mm guns, diesel engines, fire-control systems, and external armor. Armored personnel carriers (APCs) consisted of 1,000 M-113A2s from the United States, more than 1,000 BTR-50s and OT-62s from the Soviet Union, and about 200 Fahds, which were manufactured in Egypt based on a design from the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany). The army also had more than 700 infantry combat vehicles that were manufactured by the Soviet Union and Spain. Egypt also launched a program to increase the mobility of artillery and rockets by mounting them on the chassis of tanks and APCs.”

It was actually the Su-20. Fixed. Thanks Tazz. Keep ‘em coming.

A few hours later I tried again, and this time a Google Drive window appeared, asking me the email/account to access to that drive.
Anybody has had the same problem, any suggestion how to bypass this gate?
Or is it enough to download it from https://gitlab.com/tyrspawn/1980sIsrael?
Thank youDavide

Sorry about that, I don’t know why the link isn’t working smh, I will talk to nhawk and krause
In the meantime, if you can use gitlab, that’s a great way to get the releases, we push updates several times per day. -
New texture, Old school all green mk84’s

Thank you gza036!
In the meantime I downloaded it from the https://gitlab.com/tyrspawn/1980sIsrael? link. And it works!
Is it any different from the one version on google drive (which works as well now)?
Thank you very much, to you and to all the guys who now allow me to fly in a Kfir C7!Davide

Yes, you can see each change by hitting “history”,
then clicking each gitlab commit since a916c8c3 and reading the descriptions -
gza….i started the campaign over 3 times yesterday, flew the same mission OCA Strike. And 3 times and was able to fly home with no issue’s with SA-9 on final, So i’m wondering if you were correct in saying i was hit by a heater and it registered as an SA-9? Do you think that is possible? Because that’s all i can come up with. Just wanna say…thank you guys for all the hard work on this theater…even with that little mishap i’m absolutely loving this theater…the action all around is awesome.
Last night on two of the missions i was flying home and there were furballs going on what seemed like everywhere!!! :headb: -
thankyou for methodically testing out the mission again 3 times… Weird bug, I’ll pay attention to what the debriefs are saying and we can see about that heater theory

Here to Report deselecting “Enable Pilot Model” in the Theater config still gives me Legs and torso in 3d. I may have in the Wrong place.
the Path To it Currently is: Falcon BMS 4.33->Data->Add-On Israel1980s->Israeli Theater Settings.exe
Should it be the Falcon BMS 4.33 Folder with the Standard Config?
I have the Excecutible Selected to the Default Launcher.exe as well. Should I switch it to Falcon BMS.exe? That issue aside, Love the complete different dynamic this Theater is! it’s nothing like Stock ITO, and it can’t even compare to the experinces I’ve had in KTO 1980s. I feel like Every Sortie is going to end with me in a gunfight with MiGs, for better or for worse!
-
Yes! The paths inside the exe were simply not changed, I’ve got the theater config exe fixed in the gitlab build, it will be released shortly

Beta : Israel1980s_v2.0-a52c0a18 released

Edited: see previous Krause post
-
Haven’t tried that theater yet (I still have to try Israel…) but you seem to be doing a very fine job there, guys, thank you
-
Awesome!!! I’ll download and try again tonight. The other night I ended up in an epic dogfight with Egyptian F-16s over the Sinai. There were like 8 of them and at least 6 Israeli F-16s. While those day glow panels helped, both F-16s look pretty much the same on the bottom.
Thankfully AIM-9Gs aren’t the most reliable missiles or I would have been off to jail I think
-
Haha that’s great. Yes I love the giant dogfights over the desert, because the visibility over that terrain is very good
