How to hit GMT with LGB?
-
It should lase automaticly or just keep pressing the first trigger detent button
Ah yes, sounds good… I’m still flying with my 4.3.2 key settings (wasn’t able to change because my BlackScreens have priority) and there is no first trigger detent for laser. I will keep ot my mind, Thank you!

Please be CAREFUL with what you say!!
All IAM weapons (JDAMs, JSOWs, WCMDs, and any missile with GPS guidance INCLUDING GBU-39 SDB) are for stationary targets only!
For moving targets you need laser guided bombs or GBU-54 LJDAM which has dual guidance.
Of course there are also Maverick and also there are other options (Like LGM and MITL) but they aren’t for default USAF/Korean F-16s.
I-HAWK, you’re right….
It was a typo when I mentioned GBU-39… I meant GBU-54 LJDAM (thats why I mentioned the dual guidance capability) -
Can you quick announce how to set this or do I have to RTFM
Just stay on the first trigger after the release.

Noticed and kept.

clustered CCIP or … maverick

clustered CCIP or … maverick
It really depends on the threat in the area. Both are good…but depends on the threat.
-
depending of the “tonnage” you can cargo … you can densify the impact.
anyway small ammount of of cluster isnt enough . mav’ , give you a waranty of touch and blast.cluster , are drop and hope. the old way if you ask me : you can’t honnestly laser targert a group of armored . they are maybe dumb, but they usualy start to move as soon as they see you.
you can not use an area effect weapon anymore.
-
If the environment permits, I prefer CBUs over Mavericks due to more kills.
-
I tend to consult the “Tactical Reference” section of the sim almost before every flight, which usually has most of this info.

Is there a key callout for that continuous laze (first trigger det)
I have been looking for it but haven’t found yet. Thanks
-
For moving target, use continous lasing.
Agreed
A good habbit would be to combine the continous lasing with lead aiming at time of release. -

Set your automatic lasing to start earlier and you wont have to hold the trigger in to do it. You can set that on the LASER DED page.

Only in PTR mode is there a latch option (2nd detent). Otherwise no there is no function to latch the designator ever. It makes a lot of heat and is a huge safety problem. Hold-to-lase and automatic only for good reasons.

Actually, in AG CCIP mode, pulling the trigger past the second detent should latch the laser for 30 seconds, or until the weapon is released. The same is true for CCIP Rockets. Not sure if it works like that in BMS though. One way to find out!
EDIT: While we are on the topic of things that might not work in BMS, how cool would it be if the VDL menu and functionality worked? Im just envisioning being able to upload a video stream from your BMS TGP display in real time to a server that could display that to a human AWACS… not the worlds most useful thing but pretty damn cool!

The CCIP Laser 30 seconds latch is implemented.

Could you point me to instructions on how to do it? Im not having much luck demonstrating the latched mode right now.

Sure I would if I remembered it myself
I’ll try to check, it was long time ago… Leech if you remember (I’m sure you do :)), please direct.

Oh yeah I had completely forgotten about that. No worries though.
The second gun detent will initiate the latched laser function while in CCIP When the latched laser is activated, the laser will fire for 30 seconds. continuously.Shit… Reddog and Darkman are gonna kill me… sorry guys!!!

Yeah, thats what I was trying before. Following those instructions, I am unable to get latched laser fire.

I’m having this issue, and seem to be (think I am) doing everything correctly, but the GBU goes ballistic after leaving the rails. I’m running a TE against moving T62s using GBU-12s.
CMBT Laser is selected
TGP is designating a PT target
Manual lasing all the way from release (I’ve also tried auto with varying auto-times)
“L” is flashing in the TGP all the way downI’ve tried from various altitudes, (12000, 15000, 22000, etc) Racking my brain to figure out what I’m missing. I’ve RTFM (or at least I’ve read hundreds of pages from various manuals, always possible I’ve missed something), and followed the weapons checklist for LGB (level).
What could I be missing??? Thanks in advance!
