Lightning's MFDE and 4.33
-
Hi,
Norton security blocks c:\program files (x86)\falcon mfd extractor\common.inputsupport.dll
The mfd extractor will not work… who has a clue how to fix this (un-install, install, new download does not do the job)?Kind regards,
Eagleeyes

Did you ever try to run as admin + combatible mode to win7 ??? That did the job on my side. Good luck!!!
@AMVI_Muplex:Hello,
I have a similar problem as some of you guys.
When I run MFDE in window mode, it works great, but when I launch the game in full screen MFDE doesn’t work (BLANK on default image).I try to use
Version 0.6.1.1
Version 0.6.1.0I set
falcon bms.cfg file in \Falcon BMS 4.33\User\Config:
g_bExportRTTTextures set to 1?
g_nRTTExportBatchSize set to 1? (or change ‘Export a new set of images to shared memory’ to ‘every 1 video frame’ in MFDE Options).I try to run MFDE as admin and witout windows theme composition.
But every time same issue.
Windowed mode OK - Full screen Not Working….I have GTX 660 Nvidia
Samsung U70 with displaylink drivers 7.7.60366.0 versionCan some one help me or suggest something to try ?

Hi CAG,
yes, as I wrote I try, but in fullscreen MFDE doesn’t run.
I’m Using Windos 7 pro, maybe I will try XP compatibility, but I don’t think will work. The main question I have is:
What is the diffence between run FALCON BMS 4.33 in windowed mode (I use the string inside icon property \Falcon BMS 4.33\Launcher.exe" -window) or run it in full screen from MFDE point of view???
Why software are able to extract informations to make mfd work in windowed but not in fullscreen ???Maybe is some driver issue ?
I dont understand -
This I would also like to know.
To restate: Why does BMS extraction need to be “windowed” while MFDE can extract with out “window mode” established.
Thanks

Is there any way that the DED output would use green text color instead of the yellow?
I’m happy that the MFDE MFDs match the in-pit MFD colors (white or green) so having the DED as yellow text just stands out! … and not in a good way…

Yes, just change this file with this one: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/276658/F4BMS/normal.bmp
Note, it’s still the old font, not the more realistic new bold font that comes with 4.33 -
Sweet, thanks!

Hmmm… new issue… why does the MFDE MFDs sometimes display the in-pit MFDs but sometimes it doesn’t? The gauges are working fine, it’s just the MFDs that are temperamental.
I’ve tried running the program normally and as Admin, no go.

A lot of people have similar issues. Several threads on BMS about it if I remember correctly.

Updated MFDE version will propably fix our issues in 3-4 Werks. meanwhile BMS internal (windowed) extraction is the way to go - at least for me…

Just can’t get this working with .33, tried multiple versions, and a few tips from this thread, no luck.

Also having problems with 0.6.1.1.1 - Worked great for about a week then took up to 5 minutes to load. It seemed to become more and more useless in the past week. I’ve reverted to CDE in BMS. Here’s my rig specs. Hope it helps. Meanwhile, I’ll just wait on the update.

I to have had some problems but so far have been able to solve them all. Working great for me on a common GPU (7950) with 32’’ 2560x1440 main, 18.5" secondary.
A few points.
- Alt tab or making the Falcon window inactive stops the MFD from updating.
- Reinstalling BMS cause MFDE a problem. Uninstal MFDE and delete User/AppData/Local/MFDExtractor/MFDE*****************/0.6.1.1/user.config.
- Changing GPU Driver caused a need to “Recover” all outputs again.
- I don’t remember finding any persistent registry entries.
- 30millisecond polling worked best for me, I tried to match average FPS.
- Thread priority to “AboveNormal” Fixed the jitter in the MFD.
- I set 16-bit color, but have no evidence that helps.
- And Export new image every 1 video frame.
Again a big thanks to Lightning

Ok I got a stupid question. How do I get the lightenings panels to show ontop of Falcon while I’m in flight without going into windowed mode? Everytime I start Falcon It takes up the full screen and then I can’t see my gauges.

It is meant to be used on a second monitor
Or was this a trick question ? :munch:

OK, I’ve got a new one. I’ve been using this for some time and suddenly this evening, Kaspersky is telling me that it has Malware and won’t open it up.
“…Falcon MFD Extractor\Common.InputSupport.dll
Object Name Trojan.MSIL.Agent.abirt
Object type: Trojan”Any thoughts?
Just noticed eagleeyes has the same problem on page 10 of this thread.
Has no one got any ideas about this? Or are Norton and Kaspersky both wrong?

I’ m not using MFD ext. currently, my touchscreen broke , but it is 99% false postive by antivirus, depends …
Where did you download it ? Always download from the main site then you can be sure it is the real one soft you’re using.
You see by the module where it was intercepted by antivirus "Common.InputSupport.dll " , that is where antivirus heuristics “believes” it is a trojan keylogger or something , malware.
Because we are using very “fancy” (not so standard) ways of input/output controls for windows. But in our case … , who would do that and why?
Cheers

Zonelabs reports a virus too. I downloaded the source from assembla/lightningviper and recompiled it. Still a virus, obviously false positive. I set an exception in Zonelabs antivirus.

Have also a virus warning message from G-Data antivirus !
