SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS support thread

Andre,
I just tried my JetSeat with BMS 4.33. I get pretty much all the effects as listed, however, I get a noticeable noise from either one or more of the motors in the seat. It’s a constant “beeping” sound. I know I’ve read of others with the noise issue, but it is more prevalent for me in BMS as opposed to other sims. If you’re looking for feedback, there you go. I appreciate it may be a hardware problem as opposed to anything in the software you provide, but I thought I’d throw it out there for you. Any ideas?

Hi Ron,
thanks for your feedback
Tell me please at wich particular effect(s) you can hear that constant “beeping” sound? -
Andre,
I notice it when the effects kick in for the afterburner, as well as deploying the speed breaks. Once I drop the speed below any stage of afterburner, of course the effects diminish as well as the beeping noise. At first I thought it was a sensor in the A/C such as RWR, as BMS has done some amazing work providing us with as realistic a sim as possible, so initially I thought the sound was from the plane itself. But turning off the SimShaker via the control switch makes it stop so I know it’s in that aspect of the JetSeat. Not a deal breaker, but I haven’t noticed such a noise when using the JetSeat with other flight sims ie. DCSW. -
Thank you for the details Ron,
I will take care about it. -
I am interested…

Me too, i need to find the time to reconnect an old buttkicker and see what gives. Anyone got days of 35 hours?

Hi Andre
Something to test on this side of the fence. So nice to see -

welcome in -
I got it working with the Buttkicker. I like it a lot better than using the bass sound. No more rumble seat for the voices of my squad members (that was creepy:shock:).
I had to really search though to find the sound module software download to make it work. -

good news,
but I don’t quite understand why did you have to search for Sound Module download? It’s already included in SimShaker distributive package. End user just need to switch Sound Mode On as shown below. -
Ok, but how do you choose the soundcard? I see no options for that unless I install sound module separately.

Sound Module should be statrted automatically by SimShaker. I do not provide separate Sound Module distributive. Where did you get it? I suppose it may be wrong one.

Ok, I hope that obsolete alfa-version will never bother us.

Thanks, my issues were PICNIC.

So this is not brand specific if you are using a headphone jack right? I have some ooooollllllddddd Aura Interactor vests and maybe a cushion if I can find it.
-
I’m sorry, I do not understand your question Snake122.
-
The Aura Interactor was an old bass shaker system that had multiple connections for PC and console use. http://www.avsim.com/pages/0604/aura/aura_interactor.htm
If I understand your work is that it is basically adding lower sound outputs that are played during those specific circumstances selected in the menu right? -
Yes. I suppose you can try out your Aura system compatibility, using SimShaker Sound Module in demo mode.
-
I got out my one normal vest left (my other vests are built int the old cockpit frame and would need to be pulled and tested). I hooked it up and it works! The cushion was always the best option for these (similar to simple Gameseat), I really hope I can find it!
Although, I am confused about the current state of the software, when I click the “Get Authorization key” it says during the beta stage you have full access, but I’m only getting the ground shake of the demo mode. The sound module parts has “Demo Mode, Get Authrization Key.” When I click that it says to activate the full set to pay. Not opposed to paying, but just checking what the actual status is.
I also have a sound event request but would like to hear what everybody else thinks, especially if the BMS events won’t be selected individually. I am always wanted some kind of heptic feedback for G’s, back in the day I tried to add a G Suit to my home cockpit and lately I have wanted to build a G seat but it is really out the range of my time and somewhat money these days. BMS does a better job of G cues between the pilot grunt sound, the pilot breathing and the JHMCS G meter. What do you guys think about there being some kind of feedback event at the pilot’s grunt noise?
