F-14D Cockpit
-
Hello everyone!
Some of you might already know this thread and project but for the ones that don’t, welcome!
Three years ago I decided to start modelling an F-14D cockpit with the idea of integrating it into BMS. It was a very ambitious project since I didn’t have any skills in modelling or texture creation, but sometimes the best way to learn is to get your hands dirty! My dad was a naval pilot so for me this project also was somehow special since all my passion for naval ops comes from him.
It’s been a blast to go so deep into one area of research, I think I now know more than I would like about the F-14D:). I’ve met some really interesting people on the way, in the BMS community but also outside, and it has been a pleasure not only to work with you but also to share our passion in aviation and flight sims.
Due to real life issues/events (motorbike accident, moving countries, going back to study, getting married…) I haven’t been able to work on the project for 2 years (yikes!) and after the new BMS release and the new life infused into the community I’ve decided to donate my work to BMS in the hope that someone, somehow, will be able to continue it.
You can see the last version of my project here:
I hope the ones interested in this mod will be able to enjoy it soon, but you know, the long wait it’s what makes this kind of projects even more enjoyable at the end!
All the best,
Pepe

Hey Pepe,
good to see ya around. I got tangled up in lots of RL stuff too so I never got around to getting back to you or checking up on how or who could carry on development of your explicitly most awesomest pit base for the D cat. When things fell apart over the Nizmo model episode everything just kinda faded :).
I truly hope someone here who is as dedicated and talented as you will take you up on your offer and see this through to its ultimate conclusion. If no one gets back to you I’d be more than happy to oversee the transition of your material to whoever will offer a hand - no matter how long that will take.
Wish you all the best and take care!
Pete
PS: If said capable hands also happen to have a new model ready to go, I do have the entire bird textured to every last detail. Sure that can be applied to most any model with reasonable realism (actually already confirmed that with some modellers).

MyKinge:
I completely stumbled across this pit in the Korea 1980’s theater. I did a little research and found that you are no longer working on it. Either way thanks a great deal!! What a beautiful pit!!
