F-18 C/D, USS Vinson, Yellow Sea

Its a 2D pit, which means it has no way to work with BMS.
I know but maybe the textures could be used?
If I had any skills to do so I would volunteer to help but I do not.

Nice Stingers paint! I don’t recall seeing that in BMS…did you make it yourself? If you’re a fan of VFA-113, here is their latest cruise video…it’s fantastic!
-
?!
What’s wrong with the current Bug cockpit?!
For one thing, the Super Hornet cockpit is the same as the A-D cockpit…it is the A-D cockpit…and that ain’t right…
Other than that, it’s not too bad…much…well, it doesn’t suck…but it’s nowhere near as good as Janes or even VRS.

Yes, I made it. But it not completed. (sorry my english is not enough  )

Since when Jane’s series have a 3D clickable cockpit ?
SO you are a little bit extreme in your statements.
one real annoying thing in the current F18 cockpit is the DED that is barely readable
As far as Super hornet is concerned, you are all right, it should be completely removed from BMS since we dont have any clue about FM nor cockpit

Jane’s F-18 has a 3D clickable cockpit. If I remember correct it’s one of the first released sims that featured a clickable 3D pit.
The F-18 cockpit in BMS looks fine for me. I would only like the hud to be the same size as the F-16 pit. Seems that rescaling the hud to smaller sizes creates issues with readability etc. F-16 and F-18 have a fairly similar cockpit layout, so I wonder why the hud was downsized compared to the F-16.

Your English is just fine Would you be willing to share the paint either publicly or privately?

I know its not a fair comparison being different sims but if you check my youtube link and go into the F18 from FSX videos you will see what I mean.

I haven’t flown the F-18 a lot in BMS. Only took it out for a few quick test runs and some quick carrier launches and traps. So I didn’t pay much attention to the cockpit. So the cockpit mostly didn’t bother me. The only thing that did is the smaller hud compared to the F-16…oh and the ejection seat looking to the rear, which seems to be way too big and block too much from you rearward visibility. But that’s something that bothers me with the F-16 too. Although in the F-16 it’s not the seat itself but the black area behind the seat… I never sat in a real F-16 cockpit, but sometimes it seems to me that the eye level in the F-16 to the rear is a bit too low.
-
It’s not the eye-level that is low, but rather that the cockpit model is slightly rotated with the front lower than the rear. This may be corrected in future versions.
-
ah, that explains it, thanks!

This is realistic.

TBH it sucks too… very cartoonish

Perhaps, but that’s FSuX…however, still better than what BMS has…nobody’s fault as I say.
BTW the 16 pit in 4.33 frickin rox!

Not really:
This is the view I have looking back in the F-18 compared to some youtube video’s of a real F-18. To be fair, I don’t have trackIR and I understand that with trackIR you can look around the seat better. But it still looks too big.

That real life picture is not a good assessment tool. The lens taking the picture is a very short “fisheye” lens that distorts much of the view. If the picture were taken with a lens length comparable to the human eye, you would not get the view you see.

Yeah, I know. It’s not a very fair comparison, but it’s still clear enough that you should be able to see more to the rear. Compare this to the size of the seat in the F-16 cockpit in the sim. The size of the F-16 seat seems fine, this one does not. This is blocking too much of your view. Look at the image below looking at the F-18 pilot. The seat is not wider than the pilot’s head/helmet. In the bms pit it looks like it is. And like I said, I understand that with trackIR it’s easier to look around the seat and it’s better. But I don’t have trackIR and am limited to the views posted in the image above.

Again, that is an illusion created by the head/helmet some distance in front of the seat and the fisheye lens. If the pilot had his head all the way back into the seat headrest, you would see that it is a bit wider than head/helmet.
As you stated, trackIR is a solution, however, you can do something similar holding the mouse-wheel button and panning with the mouse to look around the seat. Yes, it is awkward, but it works.
