2007 Jolly Rogers VFA-103 US Navy Skin

I think what you’re referring to is commonly called ‘license plates’, like an alpha channel that’s put on the relevant section of a jet (stab, front fuselage, wings) with multiple MODEX numbers on a texture which are assigned to that area according to user selection. So for a VF-/VFA- squad you might have sth like MODEX 100, 101, 103, 105 or for secondary squads 201, 203, 207 etc
I’m not sure whether that’s implemented or possible but there was a thread about that topic some time ago.
The alternative of having entire sets of different skins for different MODEX numbers is what I used for this pic:

As you see the foreground jet is 100 and background 110, 100 was in skin slot 1 and 110 in slot 2. Given that we have two slots per jet that solution is not optimal.
…yes, that’s it…only I’ve never heard them referred to as “license plates” at a USN Maintenance desk - only “modex” or “side number”. But that’s it…more language barriers…love the Pukin’ Dogs - nice work!
In actuality each hundred series modex aboard ship belongs to a specific tasking within the wing - so I’ve been told. There can be multiple A/C 100s just not from the same squadron; so VFA-13 100 and VFA-111 100 is ligit within the group.
…and I’ve been in situations where all the side numbers have been changed overnight…which was a real hassle…for me!

An example of late 2000’s CVW composition with side #'s:

I meant commonly called license plates HERE in the texture/3d model world. Of course, they’re called MODEX/side numbers in real life man.
I retract the ‘secondary’, aware of the tasking specific number scheme.
Pukin’ dogs FTW! But only on Tomcat, can’t stomach that look on the bug for some reason.

I like the Pukin’ Supers, myself…but in general I like the grey schemes, and am not really a fan of the bright colored ones in any case. I wouldn’t want to be flying one of those into a fight…I’d want to be as “invisible” as possible.

Excellent skin, is there one for the Rhino as yet (F/A-18 E)?
-
Guys Jolly Rogers has never used F-18Ds, they transitioned from F-14 to F/A-18F. Its better to adapt it to F super bug.
cheers… -

And? It´s a great job and it´s a fantastic skin. I don´t care if it´s a F-18D or F-18F
-
…jus’ keepin’ it real. A lot of us do care.
-
Recreating real squadron skins is and will always be a major improvement towards realism in BMS! Just my 5 cents…
-
And folks that are doing it for the real cases are doing a mighty fine job!
-
Legend! Thanks so much!

and yet where was the caring when the New Carrier model, an enterprise class, was applied to several Nimitz class carriers. How about when the M60 model is a t-34, or the fact that the sovementery and Perry class share the same model. You obviously don’t care enough to point out those glaring errors, but feel free to call out someone out because they applied their favorite squadron skin to the most complete version of the hornet.

I know about airplanes…I care about ships, but I don’t know a lot about them…anything else, I just shoot at.
