WIP: F-35A

Actually because of this lots of old AC are over modeled and some very advanced is under modeled.
Sounds like separate avionics modeling is really difficult in BMS. We have seen different FM, cockpits and skins, but avionics system is always f16’s.
-
absolutely amazing work, very nice Hayab!
-
OK good work! Congratulations

Really beautiful! Looking forward to see how it fares against serious thread SAMS.
I bet it’s good in such task too - even if it’s not a Tornado.
Oh well, no (other one) birdie is perfect @ Hayab: please excuse me, but are you planning to release this beauty soon?
This mine only because I just can’t await to have some serious flying with this one too, and so…Best regards,
-
I love this Hayab. If your in need of any help please let me know. I mod for Arma 3 and have a F35 A, B and C in game.

You can’t do F-35 avionics because the documentation for it doesn’t exist for public use like the older Viper, Hornet, A-10, etc… It would be purely eye-candy which is fine and good but the priority has always been simulation here.
-
Even hornet avionics is harder to find compared to F-16… F-35 and F-22 avionics are virtually impossible.
-
At least there is video of F-35 cockpit trainers in action, but this alone is not sufficient - and given how it works as a touchscreen for the F-35, that would be quite difficult to implement correctly in BMS I suspect.

Try and contact Dino Cataneo, he did a huge F-35 pack for FSX and i guess he has some of the more sensitive stuff regarding the F-35 and it’s systems.
(so much so he wouldn’t let me convert it into another sim lol)

Yeah, second that. You should absolutely check out his work. Dino Cattaneo’s projects (pay and freeware) and especially the documentation that goes along are awesome and characterized by a complete and highly sophisticated technical approach as he’s an engineer and passionate aviator.
The reason he doesn’t let freeware be converted into other sims though is probably as he stated himself that often times he uses third party work under license himself and therefore further distribution without consent of the third party even for freeware is not possible. That being said he does believe in ‘sharing is caring’.
I know Dino from researching for the Tomcat, I personally think the F-35 is a ridiculous ugly lemon BUT he makes even that look desirable :)…somewhat. To this day I can’t figure out how he was able to model the F-14 stall (or rather absence of) behavior so accurately. Then I checked the documentation and couldn’t believe it…

Stingray,
first of all, my best wishes in advance for this brand new project of yours.
I’m afraid, however, and my apologies in advance for telling this, that finding a reliable (= realistic) FM for this beauty will be a real hard hunting, due also to the reasonable lack of informations about, most of them still classified.
If I’m recalling right, this topic has been discussed in this Forum, and maybe in this same section. Could be wrong, though. Please don’t be angry with me: anywyay it goes, all yours are always awesome jobs.
With best regards,

I just commented on Swift’s reply regarding Dino Cattaneo, I have nothing to do with the F-35, this is Hayab’s WIP thread…
If you’re referring to the F-14 flight model that is probably a conversation for another thread (and it can be modelled reasonably well even with the limitations and far better than the status quo ;))
-
Stingray,
I have understood now. My apologies and best regards,

Great work there “Hayab”, BRAVO!!!
Only one remark: I see that the main gears retracted after some time of the nose gear.
Check the below real video to see that they retracted just after the nose gear (check at 4:28
Can you please correct it?
Thanks for your hard efforts.

Nikos. This is not possible to correct, only increase time for main LG or decrease nose gear reaction time can slightly decrease this delay, but this will look too fast.
F35 nose gear has one dof for gear and one for door.
Main gear need 3 DOFs, because 2 of 3 doors on each site are closed after gear is full down. -
it’s a great idea because I love doing aerial battle with vectored thrust airplanes as a dogfight F16 vs SU 30 MK I think the next generation simulator will turn to this type of device as GUSTS , the F22, the F50 the F35 but the problem remains the cockpits and flight models to imitate in real big

a snip of f16bk52.dat (Gear and NWS section) for example:

Excellent Hayab. Love where this is going.
