SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS support thread
-
Flew 4 missions as of now. Oh yes, i’d say the simshaker simulation is near-perfect. Especially for the price.
Glad to hear you like it so much! I really like mine too. Fun to see someone’s experience that hasn’t played with bass transducers love it. Sorry if I sound a little more low key, since I had bass transducers first so it is an evolutionary for me instead of revolutionary that you guys getting the JetSeat are having. But it is a big evolution step for me too!
It isn’t just a fun thing for you guys on the fence, it definitely helps your flying. It gives you more of that seat of your pants feeling you get flying. So not only is it less “sterile” of an experience, you are also getting more feedback of what your plane is doing without looking at your instruments as much, which is how you should fly VFR.
I really do love mine and won’t go back to just bass tranducers! I think I may build my smaller tranducers into a different place to give more shake to my arms or feet and the cool thing is that SimShaker will allow the dual output!

Low key? Don’t have to worry bro It’s your and others’ contribution to this thread that made me get this thing.
And yes, definitely very informative feedback seat provides. I can feel AOA, pitch etc without even looking at the hud/instruments now. -
Question to Andre: i see simshaker app always connects somewhere at startup. Will it work offline?
-
Yes, SimShaker will work offline.
Just checks for updates. -
Hi,
I have bought the KW-908 Jetseat with 8 shaker.
But the Software shows me the picture of the KW-905 with only 6 shakers. In test mode only 6 shakers are available to test. How do I change the software to operate for 8 shakers like it should? The other 2 shakers never worked in USB or soundmode ???
Thx for help…
Solved - 2 motors are paired…only 6 Zones…

Got my jetseat today. Thanks, Andre

You are welcome

Great Andre!
BTW I 'm working on a project today to use my old transducers with the Jetseat, still loving the seat!

So it was more than just a “few” hours, went on an unexpected fishing trip with the kids.
Basically wanted to add more vibration points now that I have the JetSeat and still have the bass transducers hanging out. Since SimShaker will do dual output, I decided to add an arm rest on the stick side and a floor board in front of the rudder pedals. It might have been a little more effective to add the transducers directly to the stick and rudder pedals, but decided not to modify them directly. I used my Dayton puck transducers with a simple amp.
My phone died as I was getting pictures but here are a couple, I’ll get a more whole cockpit shot tomorrow.
Arm rest, bass puck and stick in the distance, (this angle makes the gap from the stick to the rest look smaller):

My SimShaker arrived last weel and I was finally able to test it over the week end
André. You just filled a gap in my cockpit. Tactile feedback was missing but not anymore with the Jetseat.
I’m hooked.Replacing the real cushion on the jetseat don’t impact the vibration.
Great new addition to the cockpit.
and I LOVE the GGreat stuff André. And your service and dedication to this community is extraordinary
Many thanks -

Many thanksHi RD,
Could you explain more what exactly the type of sense is? Like small vibes, or continues vibes.

Hi RD,
Could you explain more what exactly the type of sense is? Like small vibes, or continues vibes.
The vibrations last as long as whatever caused it in the sim is happening. In the instance of Gs, the bottom of seat vibration stronger as more Gs are pulled and more toward the side you are banking. Negative Gs make the same thing happen in the chair back. If you have ever used on of those massage chair add-ons, this is pretty much what the Jetseat is, just made to vibrate at specific times and places to give you feedback.
There is also effects for gun, weapons release, high AOA shudders, air brake, afterburner, taxi bumps, landing gear and flap deployment. You can tweak the levels of all of these if you want them to be more or less noticable.

Always welcome to come test if you’re in the vicinity.

Tnanks for the pictures
I hope your preciseness will not be affected a lot by shaking applied to the controls. -

Having the butt vibrations increase as I pull the stick is really helping me get a feedback about G forces. I can now “feel” that my energy is degrading while before I had to look at the airspeed or felt it because of the sluggishness of the controls, but then it was too late as I let my airspeed drop too low. (yeah, I suck at Em )
This G feedback is exactly what I was after. So much that at this time I didn’t even notice the other effects I’m so busy pulling Gs that I haven’t had time yet to test the gun the taxi, etc etc.I had one small thing I didn’t like: it was the fact that the jetseat was vibrating at 1G level flight. That negated a little bit the effect of starting to pull G. But I noticed that André just released an update which specifically address this.
So off to enjoy the jetseat again.
