Programming MFDs
-
I do not have Foxy or TARGET installed on my computer. My personal preference is to program the MFD’s and everything else as DX commands in my keyfile.

HEY Planehazza Several mini monitors available, I use Lilliput USB monitors plus lightening program, it works great but others use other type displays. Checkout these sites

Stay with the 7" or 8" monitors I use Lilliput because they are plug and play add software, and then download lightening software along with Target Software, you never have to program a single key. Two monitors cost me 100.00 on Amazon, I was up and running in a half of day.
Good luck in your hunt.

A swift search for ‘obnoxious’ gave this result:
At that time I was mad with boxer and maxpower = fenrir for the treatment, but today I understand the viewpoint.
Maybe It inspires you to add extra functions to your new toys…

That’s what I did too. I’ve only got target installed so lower the LED intensity

No need to have any software installed for that, just hold down OSB 14 + 15 and press BRT up/down for brightness adjustment

They look good but they’re 250 euros each! I’d want both for 100 euros or less
None of the links work mate. Do you have the ebay item numbers?

Another nice little tip: Use a program like autohotkey to play the MFD click audio file on each button press. Hate it when I push a button without the audio feedback.

Hey Planehazza sorry did not see your quetion/request the best I can do is tell you on this site go to advance search upper right corner of site advance search, type in USB monitors. Get the list, go down to (Souring 8" USB Lcds), click on that. Once on page one, item # 10 by Stevie or page 2 item # 13 by Lynzoid it gives E Bay reference, it works for me, should work for you.

I thought that function had been built in to the 4.33.1 keyfiles?
@Keyfile:
…. In the key files, for DX button callbacks, the former “mod1” field (last entry in a DX row, always 0 in the past) will now serve as sound ID to determine the KEY_DOWN sound to be played when activating the callback. The sound IDs can be found in the f4sndtbl.txt. …

Another good reason to do DX programming.
Button click sounds are in the keyfile for example:
SimICPALOW 1016 0 0X50 2 0 0 1 “ICP-2-ALOW”
The number 1016 is for a certain button sound.
The first number 1 means play this sound and a negative number -1 means no sound will play. -

Busted. I don’t use the pre-made keyfiles… make my own by selecting and clicking.
I will be making changes to implement this for sure. Thanks! -

Oooops sorry, I forgot that. I snagged my example from an old post not my keyfile.

Thanks. I think I’ll have to just give the LCDs a miss. They would cost far more than I can justify, and the PCBs don’t look too elegant if I’m honest.

Hey Planehazza the Lillput usb’s would be a bit cheaper and work fine. Installation is quick, one disc and one download, give a search for Lilliput monitors, 7 or 8 inch screens, you can probably beat my price. Got mine on Amazon.com on sale 100.00 for the both of them, take a look. For the use of the TFT Lcds there is plenty of help on this site, step by step if you need it to install them. Again good luck, I enjoy my MFDs gives a real nice feel to the realism to the Sim.

£100 GBP each on Amazon UK

The TFTs are cheaper and pretty easy to set up. I bought some on eBay for $60 each and built a little plywood base for them. Could never fly without it now.
