How to….multiplay!? Heeeeelp

From post #12 "Theatre is Korea KTO, Game mode 32 bit When you launch game at top right you can select 32 or 64. Default is 64 when 1st installed. "
I thought you since confirmed 32bit set ? If setting wrong you will get a message saying so. Totally clear info. Probably same with theatre but do not remember.

Ok and what ports do I have to set there in the router menu? I tried to select my router in the portforward programm but my FritzBox isn’t listed there.
So…step by step…
First I habe to set my IP to static. Check
Then I go into the router menu in the browser, looking for ports to forward…and then?
Sorry for my stupid questionsYou do not need a static ip at all. Having one is useful when you regularly host a game as it avoids need for other players to type your new ip each time. Many people these days have a static ip as standard or at least one that doesn’t change often. Its not needed except for reason I said.
Port forwarding as far as I know is still required even as client or you will connect CS not P2P, but quite willing to accept I might be wrong about that. CS connection limits flow of data to and from you to be handled just by the server. Not what is intended, though there is a topic somewhere that suggests CS MIGHT be needed or preferable for massive multiplayer events such as at the Falcon online server.
I`m not aware you can properly use IVC in all circumstances without port forwarded. Once again I could be wrong. “been a while” as they say.
You cant have installed anything except bms 4.33.1 unless downloaded a long time ago. Maybe it was way back april 2015. If so get latest. The one that MUST HAVE original falcon 4.0 installed (not Allied force) to allow bms to work.
Hosting a public campaign needs a very good connection. Especially upload speed. TE
s and df
s are much less demanding. If you unfamiliar with bms (maybe not) then get some multiplayer time in so you can get active real-time help. A VFS (virtual fighter squadron) is ideal but meeting people on a public server can work. Just say Hi and ask your question. Knowledge level will vary of course. Not everyone will reply. Language barriers etc. Speak in chat window or use IVC (a subject all of its own)
Anything else ive missed ? Thought there was a sticky somewhere on this topic.

And the Base operations section https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?31-Base-Operations has various links and info related to multiplayer, finding servers and specific server info.
Artys list is recommended reading but I do not know how well indexed it is for specifics. -
Thx for the reply. Well there is no message that I use the wrong version or OS. But…ehm… another stupid question because you said it: do I need 4.33? I use 4.32.

Now it works… :wfish:
oh damn… I’m soooooooo *ÄÖ:§"=)²93###
Step 1 for Multiplayer: Install 4.33 -
i told you to check the version number
-
yeeees… I know… I thought about the 32bit and 64bit stuff
-
Another problem:
I changed some avionic settings in the avionic editor. Now I can’t join a mp anymore. Message: wrong acdata!
How can I get the original .acfg file? The button ‘set default’ doesn’t change anything -
get a clean copy from someone you know, or reinstall the game
-
Reinstall?
Does anyone here have a clean file?? I can’ t understand why I can make changes on this file, save it as what I want and where I want… but I can’t get the original stat anymore… -
if you want help dude you need to tell everyone here
what file you actually need
until you do that nobody can even help you except yourself
-
Well…as I said before… I changed some avionic settings in rhe abionic configurator on the launch menu. Then I saved this file and apply the changes to the game. The saved file is called .acfg
No the game only use my saved file…and not the original settings. But I can’t find a similar file in the bms 4.33 path. So…someone maybe have to start the avionic configurator and save the settings under the name Original.acfg
Then I could try to load this file in order to get the default settings again -
Just saying, backups, they are your friend.
-
No chance… I reinstall the game. I changed the settings in order to get the airspeed and heading always visivle in every HUD. No matter which block I fly. But that these datas have to be the same when playing MP…I did not know

One (of many) thing I have an MP question about is comms. I have a mic/speaker set up. How do I set up comms? Is there a button to push? I think you have to set up the VHF channel too?

You must set up the channels (VHF and UHF) you wish to use. Easiest to preset them in the data cartridge. Most pilots just use the presets. Then ensure that they are selected in the DED. Alternatively, you can manually set channels in the DED via the ICP. After the channel is set you just use the VHF or UHF talk switches.
