About Update 2
-
Hello, first thanks to bms team to release update 2
I liked too much the update 1 because it was very very good optimized, i ran falcon on my pc at 35~40 fps, now with update 2 run at 23~25 fps, but thid occurs just inside the cockpit, outside cockpit runs very well… Anyone else?
Pd: i applied the same settings than update 1 -
video card drivers up to date?
-
I will update now!
-
Nothing… Still the same fps
-
Strange… I recall someone else also complained about the FPS drop with the latest update… I have a pretty weak vid card, a Radeon HD series 65xx, and I’m lucky if I get 35 fps in the cockpit, but, oddly enough, nothing has changed since I installed U2. What gives?
-
I have a weak graphics card too, i have a GT630 NVIDIA, but before U2 falcon runs at more fps…
-
Is your vsync off?

Take a look here, may be your solution: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?28577-4-33-2-with-decreased-FPS-in-cockpit

I agree,
with my gtx 970, it seems u1 has better fps compared to u2 too. -
Should Update 2 delete my running campaign, and my actual setup configuration ?
Thanks -
Yes, it’s off
-
Same here. VSync always off, HDR too. AA and AF set on the BMS graphics configuration page, in the vid card software left ‘application dependent’.
-
Definitely u2 lost optimization
-
If I might suggest something, try Tom’s cockpit textures (backup the stock set first). I may be totally wrong, but I have an impression that they are somewhat lighter in terms of gfx load…

This may be a shot in the dark, but apparently U2 resets F4Patch settings to default. For this reason, one should go into the Config applet and set everything back the way it was before Falcon is started. Good luck :).

That’s odd, Tancred– I just checked, and U2 didn’t reset my F4Patch settings to default. In fact, it didn’t make any kind of changes at all to my config file.

Guys, if you’re using a 60Hz screen, why do you want more than 60FPS? I loathe screen tearing. Also, if your FPS is constantly rocketing up to 100FPS and plummeting down later you’re going to get stuttering. I’d much rather cap the FPS at 60 and have less extreme differences in FPS and with zero tearing.

Whoops, I thought that what was written in relation to the settings accessible through Falcon’s UI. The change was perceived on my Linux install, it could easily be that I’m wrong with regard to Windows.

Tancred…. Did you read my post? I APPLIED ALL MY SETTINGS AGAIN… AGAIN… Do you understand the point?
