F-18 Hud Symbology
-
By my research I have found no good solution to the issue of the F-18 Hud symbology extending beyond the viewing glass. I found in the 3dckpit.dat files a parameter - hudview_fov=80.0f; Anyone know what this controls? I would experiment, but I have no idea how the many non F-16 cockpit folders correlate to the various aircraft.

IIRC the hudview_FOV simply controls the FOV of the HUD view displayed when you press 4 or 5 on your keyboard. AFAIK there isn’t anyway to completely fix the issue. The workaround is the use the middle mouse button or the TrackIR “lean back and re-center” trick to move your viewpoint farther forward in the cockpit.

^^ …. correct.
Maybe ( :wish: ) we’ll see a fix in a future update.

That would be really HUGE!!! With BMS amazing and gifted community everything is possible…

TY for clarification.

Haven’t flown the F-18 yet (yeah, I know…) but, perhaps a pic with the issue? If it’s what I have in mind, perhaps a suitable dds file with alpha filter could come in handy here. That’s @least how previous versions of the F16 Hud operate w.r.t. visibility on the hud-glass.
I’ll see anyway if that would be the case (and have to dig up the correct dds file as well of course )

you just have to move your head using the mouse middle button until its all fitting.
