How to make AI wingmen keep attacking ground targets?
-
In Falcon BMS 4.33 all I needed to do is simply select some ground target, order them to “attack my target” - and then they would offload all their Mavericks for multiple kills.
But in BMS 4.34 an AI wingman will attack only a single ground target I’ve pointed at and thus I have to babysit/handhold each one of them, wasting much time.
So, topic title.

Don’t confuse:
“attack my target”
&
“attack target”

If you have targets in your view through sensors just “w” and then select “8”. In doing so you tell him to attack lateral targets, after that he will drop his available payload until he runs out of weapons.

yeah, thanks - I’ve remembered the difference, all is well

Kool beans, just be careful on the SEAD missions if using HTS. If you use attack targets, and he has HARM’s he’ll probably shoot both at the same target.

Seriously? That’s awful! Great tip!

And not to forget if you have a SEAD/DEAD four ship and you order your element to attack, you will soon afterwards hear 2 “Magnum”. But as long it is so highly effective to take out the FCRs, who cares

Please remind me of the difference between “attack targets” and “attack my target”.

Instead of rewriting it, I’ll direct you to BMS Comms Nav pdf manual p34.
-
Thanks Lorik. And to Red Dog. I really need to read that manual again.

Hence the reason I take a 3 ship when radar busting. It’s like that if you tell element to attack a single target, as the weapons don’t really make a difference. They’ll attack it it twice regardless.
