Flounder's X52 Pro Keyfile/DX Profile for BMS 4.33
-
Hello could you make for X-52 non pro
Not really. Any attempt is just a guess. The button numbering and the SST programming is different between the X52 and X52 Pro. That means without having an X52 I can’t create a Saitek *.pr0 file and can’t test the keyfile. I’ve tried it in the past, but it’s basically incomplete and untestable.
I think someone did take this profile and re-create it on an X52, but I don’t recall who that was.

2. There are limited ‘weapon selection’ buttons on the real F-16 stick and are most often available via other means, most notably the MFD buttons (OSBs). However, the Missile Step/NWS button does select (step through) missile stations on short press and missile types on long press. Missile Step also changes bombing modes in the AG master mode.
Fire Guns is mode dependent. In AA mode, you need to be in dogfight override, which is available in this profile via the ‘mode knob’. In AG mode, the gun is available via SMS Page OSB #1. Once in a ‘guns mode’ the ‘fire gun’ command is second trigger detent. Be sure Master Arm is on.
3. You should have current Saitek and SST drivers. I can’t say if a particular driver release is better than others. But you don’t need a registry hack. That’s only if you want to make the rudder an axis and remove some SST programming. It’s not necessary, but can be advantageous in some circumstances or setups.
4. DX is basically direct button-to-game command. DX allows a button to trigger an in-game action directly. Non-DX …. like Saitek SST programming … introduces ‘middle ware’ to interpret a button press as a keyboard command, which in turn triggers a game command. Bottom line: DX is simpler, more direct and imho better.
Też miałem takie zaćmienie z DX: Uham:

I also had such eclipse with DX: Uham:: Bowd: -

That was cv02011 back in December 2015. You offered to host it somewhere for shared download. Did that ever happen ?
I’m new here - just catching up on all the posts. I also have a non-pro X52.

Many thanks Agave. As always your help is appreciated

Hi Agave
Do you recommend moving to a Warthog stick also

Hi Agave

AmpAmp, about 18 months ago I bought a Warthog Stick and paired it with my X52 Pro throttle. I definitely recommend the Warthog stick. I am very happy with the Warthog and with the combination of the Warthog stick and X52 Pro throttle.

Agave-Does this mean I have to give up Flounders of which I am very happy. Is there a new profile for Warthog using DX like Flounders?
FYI out of interest I have as my desktop two South Carolina F16’. Knowing you are from SC thought it might interest you.
regards

AmpI adapted my ‘Founder’s’ profile to the Warthog. The throttle is very much the same. The stick is simpler, in my opinion …. pretty much the same functionality, but with some functions (CMS & Trim in particular) moved out of the shift layer to the main layer. The Warthog is pretty much identical to the real F-16 stick which is very functional and takes advantage of all the BMS short press/long press and mode dependent functionality.
Only loss is the twist rudder, which can be replaced for ground steering with ‘roll linked steering’ … basically using the y-axis movement on the ground to steer. Rudder is not much use in F-16 flight in the sim.
The ‘loss’ of the twist rudder also allows you to replace that axis with the mini-stick radar slew axis so you don’t have to rely on any Saitek SST programming at all.

Thanks Agave I will start saving my pennies as Warthog costs $600 in New Zealand.
Kind Regards

Need some help with this. Just getting back into BMS, and I am trying to use this profile. So I watched the youtube video, and followed the steps. I load up the profile in my saitek menu. Went into the game, loaded up the key file. But after I load, when I press any button on my stick it says “no function” for that button. And then when i load into a flight, also, no functionality. Any help?

Do you have any devices besides the X52 Pro …. MFDS, rudder pedals, etc.?
-
I have the saitek rudder pedals
-
Put X52 Pro at the top in the file devicesorting.txt.
-
Awesome! Thanks!

Does this work with the X52 (non-Pro)? I’ve tried installing this as it states in the video, and it won’t load the profile.
-
Nope. HOTAS buttons are numbered differently and there are different button ‘designs’ between X52 and X52 Pro. That means the DX commands won’t be where your expect them and that the Saitek SST *.pr0 file won’t work.
I believe someone (cv02011) made a very similar profile for the non-Pro X-52, but I don’t know if it was ever posted.

Firstly, apologies - I know this thread is old, but my X52 pro only arrived yesterday, and it’s partially working. I can load the profile in BMS, but the path to the saitek part does not exist. I am using win 10 home 64 and the latest saitek drivers as at yesterday. When I right click the icon in the system tray, the only option there is “clear”. Also, with this profile, (non TIR version), how do I move the radar cursor? Does this function rely on having the profile loaded via the saitek software?
Thanks - AC

Yes, slewing the cursor relies on loading the *.pr0 file. Once it’s loaded the mouse nub on the throttle should slew the cursor.
I don’t know where Saitek/Logitech are saving those files now. It used to be “….\Users\Public\Documents\SmartTechnology Profiles”. Maybe there’s a new Logitech equivalent?

Loading the *.pr0 file did the trick. The new file location is: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Logitech\X52 Professional
