I installed your excellent LV3_F-16CM-50_v1. But the Lod editor does not show some skins. Where am I making mistakes?

Don’t know if related, but installed the CM50 yesterday. All works ok except the lights. The flashing lights (anti coll & fuselage) show wrong textures. I’ve checked all LOD edits, replaced the dat files and removed all the dds files from the high res folder and overridden them the normal objects folder; all twice to make sure

White means texture is missing. Not all skins are in the folder LE is looking for it’s textures. Also try this keys: hit caps-lock, then y, then you can turn caps-lock off again. Another thing you can change is open a model menu in the 3D viewer by hitting space-bar. A new menu will open. Open the display menu and change the texture set to 5 and cycle “Use set” from 0 till 4.
If you have the 20 textures in the correct folder there is no issue. -

Wingtip lights dds is 2933. You have to figure out what it’s using if it does not show the correct one.

The next big step is ready in the form of the F-16CM block 50. This model is by far the most refined and comes with a fully modeled HUD, 3d ejection seat sensors and a smooth edge wide mouth intake. Also a lot of small issues have been fixed and will be retrofitted to previous models where needed. The model comes with 5 skin sets. Each set has its own body skin because I wanted to save poly’s I would have needed for the license plates for other details so the falcons found near the rear canopy glass are now painted on the skins. The following squadrons are present and in this order: 13th, 14th, 55th, 179th (only HG5 skin set for now) and 480th. I have added the tail skins for the 77th and 79th FS too. You can swap it with the 55th tail if you like.
There is another issue I think you need to know about and it is a general Falcon issue. More and more people run into the issue of the KoreaObj.LOD database file getting too large. At the moment the maximum size it 2Gb. Go past it and the sim will crash. You might want to try the LE’s “Compact KoreaObj.LOD” command found in the Utilities dropdown menu. I wish there were no limits but for now you might want to think what you really want to install.

No, I have done some research and I have not seen any block 40 in the PACAF/USAF/USAFE/ANG with the AIFF. So for now I will build them without them. The block 40 will get the HTS.

Going from the HUD (doesn’t necessarily mean it’s 40/42) and they’re USAF based in Korea, doesn’t look like the 40/42s have the AIFF fins as you say.

Did my research and looked at some recent pics (May) from the Jets in Aviano and no IFF slicers.

AFAIK Block 40s aren’t slated for AIFF integration until Q4 this year. My bet is that it’ll get pushed farther out. Furthermore, I don’t think all 40s are getting them. IIRC current block 40/42 aircraft have APX-124 (no antennas) and a selection of those jets are getting upgraded to APX-126 (with antennas).

It is fine either way. I know Block 40s dont have them and some Block 42s have them.

ETA for the block 40: a few days. I just finished upgrading the PX3/4’s for the next Ikaros update. I’m now optimizing the model so I can keep the 3d stuff in front of the hud and still have poly room to add the block 42 model HUD parts. Only 218 poly’s to find… easy.

Ok thanks……can you add the ALE-50 Towed Decoy to the Block 40 as well, like you did on the block 50? The Block 42 and Block 52 need them too
