U have a point dear friend. Still though i havent started to work the model to reduce whatever i can. Ill try to do my best. I have some ideas i have to put to test some time and i think this model will be the labrat. Lol. So a little patience and we will see
-
Here is reduced to ~35k tris… Not bad i think… I might manage to reduce it more without major losses…
EDIT : And here how the LodEditor shows the model…. Not bad i think… What do u think ppl? Ok i cant reduce it more its starting to have losses and produce holes in the mesh… probably it will take some more tris as i have to add the aim-9 racks that they dont exist other than that personally i dont believe its that bad…

Nice model. With a pretty skin, it should be far above the one we have now in the DB…

Sure thing! And theOriginal 42k tris model even better as it is smoother… Anyway i will make ofcourse for Ikaros team the 42K and i keep this modification to lower poly for the BMS team if they want it

So im Back… No screenies yet. I had no connection in my vacations that i could easy use with my laptop so i couldnt do my research for the A-7 but now im back home and i will do. Also do some research to fix some minor issues on the mesh. Will be continue to inform ya guys

Welcome back, dear Manos.
I had no connection in my vacations that i could easy use with my laptop
Well, good for you! This is the sense of what ‘some well deserved rest’ really means, don’t you agree?
And thanks in advance for the news to come about the development of this project.
Can’t await to test this beauty too, if you will agree of course. With best regards,

Exactly. Just as per DeeJay proposal to another thread, there should be lod1/2/3 etc within bms poly limits in order to maybe be added to the official db, then we can have another high poly detail model lod1 as an alternative, stand alone download for anyone interested on this and his machine can afford it.

Slats seperated from the wing now (they where one piece with the wing for some reason). I have to “fix” also the refueling probe as it is one piece also (no seperation from the base ) and the base from the rear horizontal stabilators. Also i will need some help with the ejection seat if im not wrong later -E where wearing the MB Mk10 (i dont know if im saying the correct version) ? and not the escapac as the model has now, for example Greece had 2 versions -H (no refuel probe some avionics stripped and old ej. seat) and -E with full capabilities of the navy ones and MB seat. Again i will say i dont know if im saying the correct types as i really dont remember. I do remember though that my 1/48 Hasegawa one had both versions inside but it was squadron depended. All the help you can give me i will accept it!

I was looking to add some details… The Basic model is fine but lacks some parts/details and stuff so im in a delema right now. Keep it as is and just add the basics or go a bit further and rise a bit the tris count? Of course as i said the basic is kept in a safe for posible intergration in BMS if the devs want it but for Ikaros as always it will be a better one. Also i found pictures of the Later versions of E ejection seat witch is not a MB but an Stencel SJU-8 Witch is not to difficult to make at least a basic one. And also i can keep the original ejection seat for erlier versions.

Are you sure the model will be better if exceeds BMS requirements?

Are you sure the model will be better if exceeds BMS requirements?
It depends… Not always but the Phantom for example many people are satisfied and its over 80k In ikaros. I know what you mean but i have to add at least details that the model doesnt have. For example you see the Shape of the refueling probe but it dooesnt actually exist! The pylons for the aim-9s are missing. Main pylons are wrong and need some detail also. If i wanna make a later version the seat must be changed. The airbrake is missing the parts that turn on the sides etc etc… those are essential to me as details for an accurate A-7. If the team doesnt want it this way thats why i said i will keep the basic. But for me detail is everything to tell u the truth. Even when i was making scale models i was spending days just for the cockpit so i can make it as accurate as possible and always scratch building something from spares or sprues so i can finish it… to our subject. All those details will add tris to the model of course. Even now it is over BMS requirements as its over 30k, i can downgrade it in 30 but not for Ikaros sorry. As i said in other threads for the models im porting/converting to bms and as Raptor also said when everything is gonna be 100% completed there will be lower lods or alternatives for those that doesnt have powerfull PC’s/Laptops. Even though i believe there is not so many anymore, but who knows right? Anyway i dont wanna start an arguement (i might sound like i do so i wanna clarify that), your opinion and other people’s here is/are respectful and i will say again a BIG thank you to all the people that helped me till now including you of course to understand and work on theese models…

you are right they had two but the latest wasn’t a MB, the vietnam era A-7 had the escapac and later the escapac seat were replaced by stencels SJU-8 seats. don’t remember the exact date but I’d guess somewhere in the 80s
the one on the right is the one used in the A-7Ein pit on a 1/32 model i am currently working on:
Let me know if you need more info.
For greek A-7, i use this reference:

I will see what i can find, I probably have a modellers book for A-7 somewhere (thats where i got my info for my 1/48 one) but i chosed the escapac cause i mad the H version not E. If i remember well the left is the one for the Harrier? Thnks Red dog i will let you know if i need anything…

And MAnos, forgive me to point it out without hard facts but I “feel” something is off with your nose
many scale models have it wrong and i made a lot of research about it - but i’m away from home so i don’t have the measurement here. But it looks off from the real thing
this has been corrected with a heavily researched resin nose and intake (zacto) -

Unfortunatelly this model is gonna make my life difficult unless i ring it or quadify it in some parts as NOTHING is a straight line… Whoever made it it made it using Nurms probably and it doesnt have a single straight line in it But i know that for sure if i do something like that it will double maybe more the tris count… Another delema… damn…
