New Pylons plus the aim-9 racks, next update will be probably the refuelling probe
-
So here it is Next on the que the spoilers…
-
here is a shot of the usual issues with the intakes in the scale modelling world.
Most of them have it wrong (blueprints can be VERY wrong too) seems a lot of manufacturers built models based on wrong blueprints. Nowadays the best repro technique is 3Dlaser scanning a real jet
left wrong, too flat - right correct, more round -
Yes, that one on the left looks way off!

That is a usefull shot Thanks Tazz… yeah the 3d model is more close to that maybe some moving here and there or just let it as is… ill see how easy it can be and i will decide what i ll do!
-
So spoiler are done…. Im up a bit in tris but i think thos details i added as i said before is essential!
-
if you want some details:
they are not only on the top wing. but the same ones are also on the bottom wings but opening is inversed
a nice detail you could plan if you want is the gun vent. left side forward fuselage, just back of the canopy, alongside the left nose gear door
always open on the ground and opens in flight when the gun fire

Ok thanks its the one i thought it is

edited my post with a picture Manos
As for the spoilers i hardly have seen them deployed so i wouldn’t know - even pictures of corsair engaging a turn don’t have one the top spoilers open.
to be honest i’m not even sure they are spoilers, they “may” be something related to give more airflow to the wing at low speed to lower the approach speed but i don’t think so either
Maybe it was a feature developed on earlier corsairs and abandoned later on, like the kruger flaps of the tornado, dunno?
they are not part of the airbrake system eitherthey are a mystery to me as well
-
As far as i know Razbam model in P3d-FSX witch it considered one of the best payware out there for the corsair it haves the upper spoiler normally deployed whent entering turn. to tell u the truth i have to research it a bit more. Probably in Early corsairs might be working as it should but for the -E im not sure either. I will do my research and i will see if i keep them or not. As for the gun vent i definatelly gonna make it…. I wish there was a switch to deploy it also when firing a gun Thing is that with all the missing details i add ( i realise that this 3d model is more close to an -A than a -E) im almost doubled the tri count… But again for me it worth it And also i have the Original backed up so i can make a low poly for BMS team or whatever…

U will need many tris for the engine out… Don’t just close it. Take it about 1m deep inside with the rings.

Np Arty… Still trying to figure out if those surfaces are spoilers or something else. I studied right now about a dozen of videos but in no one of them it shows that the working as spoilers during turning. Maybe they are dive brakes or something? i dont know. It sure are working surfaces. I saw in the link in th tiger one is semi dployed in one of the pics. Anyway it will remain a mistery as Red Dog said. To tell u the truth i don know if i wanna add more tris I see what i can do if it doesnt add up too many i will make it if not i will leave it as is! As for the detailed photo of the gun vent If i make the inside as well it will add up a lot of tris… i dont know i will see… maybe just add some basic detail or some skin there and nothing more i guess…
EDIT: According this photo of a cutout it is a spoiler… why in no video of turning A-7s they don work??? hm… strange
https://sobchak.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/a7cut.gif -
Maybe a manual will answer your quest for the surfaces.
No need to do the inside of the gun door.sent from my mi5 using Tapatalk

Yeah found it in google docs. As Red Dog mentioned ther also in the down side of the wing. I will read it tomorrow to see if i can figure out how they work.

One I found pilots manual had nothing about them.

Yup i did read it… it seems that it needs a fair amount of banking either left or right so the spoiler will activate even though it says that if Aileron exceeds 2 degrees and 30" spoiler moves a proportional amount. Therefore on the general stick position it says that Spoiler are open ,probably 100% ,when the stick is either left or right at 36 degrees… Hmmm… its a bit difficult to “translate” this in the game i guess so im thinking maybe to dont use them at all. I know it took me couple of hours to make them but in every video i saw about A-7 They dont really seem to move, so i cant really tell if they actually are needed… and if i dont use them i know i will save some tris also… another delema…Also another cool thing i read its that when you hit wheels down the airbrake retracts automatically. I gues this is easy to “translate” in game right?
Edit: In this video shows how they work but only in ground and testing control surfaces in the rest of the video again they dont move!..
-
So any help on that? Everyone? As i saod i can just delet them and leave it as is cause either the movement is so small during normal flight or dont move at all but (as i understand at least) in hard manuevering (i hope i wrote it right) they move. Reference of the RAZBAM model in FSX/P3D also in very soft banking they hardly move meaning if i lean the stick 2-3 dgrees left or right u dont even see them but when i move the stick completely left or righ then u see them open. I will need some help on what ill do on them… Thanks in Advance.
-
Ok due to non existence of references (good ones i mean) and the mystery around the Spoilers i will not use them and i will continue the model without them. So wait for more news soon
