BMS status rant
-
This thread is just bovine excrement. If you don’t like BMS 4.35 then I would suggest you demand a refund (oh wait, BMS is free! Duh), go back to 4.34 until a perfect version exists of BMS, go to DCS (and pay through for really half baked releases like the F-16… oh sorry, it’s okay when we label it “early access”) or stop whining and start coding yourself.
I have nothing to do with BMS but software development is my career and has been for over 23 years - so I can somewhat comprehend the massive challenge behind changing the underlying graphics engine and overall architecture to DX11. This is a watershed release and I fully anticipated bugs and issues.
And I’m really appreciative of the BMS team being very open regarding the fixes, especially U2. BMS 4.35 is a major step forward in underlying architecture even when the sim looks exactly the same as 4.34. But 4.34 seemed as good as it was ever going to get on DX9 and we have a platform to move on with. And all thanks to a team of people around the globe who do this all in their spare time, after work and in between family commitments.
Some appreciation and thanks would be in order here and most of all - patience and understanding. Stop acting like some 13 year old Tik Tok “star” who wants everything NOW and can’t deal with the realities of life.

Well said.

“Praise in public, but criticize in private” has been one of my leading guidelines when working with the bachelor students and colleagues in our IT department, and it’s never failed me
All the best,

And he does. I have several dozens of firing PM from Hoover, I sometimes don’t free my inbox quickly enough for them.
I’m kidding of course.

now I’m missing Max Waldorf…
Don’t worry, I am never really far!
Enjoying some well deserved time off though@Polaris
To conclude on this rant and taking my moderator hat :
- Rants need to be constructive.
- Points raised should be facts and not feelings
- Never forget the team worked hard to bring those updates and new functionalities
- Don’t forget we are human beings. We laugh, we cry and we bleed… Criticism can take a toll on some and to their pride of the work they have done…
So…
There is nothing more to say especially when what we do is on our free time and for 0…BMS isn’t dead and far from it, It won’t be perfect (and will never be).
Now take a break, comeback later (or don’t)… We will be there anyway because we love what do and we try to share it.
Our recent “openness” to the community over U2 is because we also need positive and constructive feedback.
Now, summer is here, 24 /7 servers are open, enjoy flying and move along this thread.
Max out!
