General RTT Client Questions-4.35 U2
-
- I think that I have read that RTT is bugged for 4.35. Is this true?
- I have looked through the Tech Manual (and any other place that I could think of) to find out how to physically move the location of the extractions when RTT Client is started. One extraction (the larger one) is square in the middle of my main screen. The smaller one is above and to the left of the larger one. I need to resize and relocate these displays. Can someone direct me to where I can learn how to do this?
- Lastly are the extractions able to be displayed on remote display screens? I have two screens upon which I place TM Cougars. Best of all solutions for me.
Thanks!

1. Not to my knowledge, works fine
2. The location of the (MFD) extraction is located the last 10 lines in in the RTTClient.ini. X\Y value is where you want it, W\H is width and height MFD size) you want displayed. My layout for two Lilliput MFD screens located “below” my main triple monitor(s) (7680x1440) is this:
MFDLEFT_X = 2370 (position of top left of MFD)
MFDLEFT_Y = 1440 (where the MFD is placed, in my case just below the bottom of my main monitor)
MFDLEFT_W = 540 (540x520 is the size of MFD, fill up the screen under your TM MFD panels)
MFDLEFT_H = 520
MFDLEFT_ONTOP = 1
MFDRIGHT_X = 4830
MFDRIGHT_Y = 1440
MFDRIGHT_W = 540
MFDRIGHT_H = 530
MFDRIGHT_ONTOP = 13. Yes, as shown above. Once you have the box in the general vicinity of where you want it just keep the ini open in Notepad++, make adjustments and Save, then Shut down\restart RTTClient64.exe, rinse and repeat until exactly right. Not hard to do at all…
To better show my configuration, this is how my screens look in Win10 Display Properties -

The RTT freeze bug was only for 4.35 and has been fixed with U1

Thanks Icer. this really helps. It seems as though decreasing the value x will move the display more to the left. I used your values for x and y and the left MFD displays on my right external display.

X0 and Y0 are the upper left corner of your primary screen. So therefore decreasing X to a negative value will move the extraction to the left

Yes, just think in terms of the top left of your (single?) monitor is 0,0, bottom left (on a 2560x1440) 0,1440. If you were to locate the MFD aligned with\under that bottom left corner it would be MFDLEFT_X = 0 (position of top left corner of MFD), MFDLEFT_Y = 1440. Seems like you have it now, good…

I really don’t understand why the previous system of dragging and resizing with your mouse was abandoned. This is so 1980’s software….
My setup involves 6 screens and going back to the nerd version of the software is a pain. Great that you can edit a file if you really want. Less great that the new version simply overwrites the config file without warning, so you have to do all the work once again!
Maybe the next version of BMS should not be about new features but give the entire GUI an overhaul and finally take it to this side of the year 2000.

This tool made RTT setup for me very easy as it made dragging and resizing possible.
