Anyone got a Maverick TE training worth the name?

For me the TFR is ruining this mission. I can’t make it work. Every time I turn it on it starts saying pull up, showing limits thing in the mfd and giving me a bunch of faults. The only way I can use the mavericks is to just skip the TFR and fly high.
It would be nice to have a separate training mission just for TFR and other avionics stuff. Maybe have more training missions, some to learn the systems in a simple and safe situation then bring it all together in a scenario type mission like this one is.

Not wishing to state the obvious but - don’t bother with the MAV part of the mission, just train on TFR until you can do that - there cant be a training mission for every single aspect of an F16 flight, there would be hundreds of them !!!

Hello,
the included maverick training mission is frankly disappointingly frustrating.
It isn’t a training at all.
It’s a scenario mission.
Anyone got a simple AGM-65D training mission, with say some undefended fixed and some moving targets?
Initial position not too far away, say 20nm or so.
Just to train the basic mechanics of firing them.
Thanks!Create a TE with the TGP and AGM 65D’s loaded.
Place some Friendly Tanks so they don’t shoot at you.
Make sure your flight plan overflies a city for bore sighting.
Now in the TE Designer, move the TE time forward so the aircraft is in flight maybe 20 NM from your bore sight targets.
Now re-save the TE.Now when you jump in you will be airborn and ready to go.
When you get in the Jet you have to power the Mavs and wait for the gyro’s to spool up so as soon as you get in the jet start orbiting, power the mavs and set everything up.
Once the MAVS are ready, approach the bore sight location and place the sim in Freeze mode Shift + PNow you are paused but the systems still work. use this time to practice with the Weapons checklist right by your side. It tells you exactly how to bore sight the Mavs. Also use the -34 manual at the same time to learn.
Once bore sighted Unfreeze the sim and head for your targets. You can use the Freeze mode again to lock up the targets. You may need to briefly unpause for bore sighting and locking but I think after that you can go to freeze mode and it will work.
Anyway this is how I used to train guys. We would sit in the sim and go over the systems when in the Freeze mode and then go fly a TE to practice. If you want to do this with another player ie MP you (and your wing man) have to go into the Falcon config file and set this setting: set g_bAllowMP_Freeze 1
Anyway this is another option to help slow things down when you are self learning.
Just another idea for you.

Thanks. That’s basically what i have done.
And still the results are rather unpredictable. Mavericks are a mess. -
Mavericks are a mess - no they just need to be mastered - the unpredictability is in the operator ;0)

Lol did you at least look at the available training missions? TFR is right there and previous to the maverick one ….
That’s mission 8Geez you guys criticise but you can’t even open your eyes ?..
I guess asking to open the training manual meant to go along the training mission will be even harder
Still, all you need to learn it is in there. Explaining every detail of each mission in detail -
You got me there. I am new to BMS just this week and I was skipping around the missions seeing what’s what. I didn’t realize they where supposed to be done in order. There is just so much to BMS it was overwhelming and I was in a hurry to make something go boom. I guess I should go back to the beginning of the training manual and do them right. BTW I figured out my problem by checking my faults with the -1 manual, the radar altimeter wasn’t on. So I learned several lessons from this, I guess you did put together a good training program!

I know this thread is getting on a bit age wise, but in case contributors are still monitoring, I had the current version of training manual professionally printed. It only about £5 and it’s A4 with plastic ‘dustcovers’. Looks real nice, and you can read through each TE before hand to give a good understanding, then if necessary ‘freeze’ TE during mission and have manual open at correct page (spiral bound). Maybe other newbies like me could really use a printed version of RedDogs manual to aid learning the systems? No offence meant to anyone, just my 2 pence worth.

They’re available through Lulu books, but a bit more than £5.

Planehazza, you’re of course correct. I’ve not been BMSing or any flying (virtual) for a while due to being in hospital. Wasn’t until I read another post just now (not a nice one about manuals and critizing RD) that I remembered I got it from Lulu! It’s was a ‘little’ more expensive @ around £22.
I have -1 & -34 & navigation books printed also. Sorry for inaccurate post truly memory issue. Also use original Falcon 4.0 printed manuals that came with boxed version of the sim.Regards,
