Here is a desert version of the mod if you want it for a desert map or whatever. Simply replace 8018.dds in your terrdata/objects/koreaobj. If that is not the file name for your pilot body, simply find it and replace. Credits to Harpoon for textures. -

Hi there.
Well PM me your e-mail to send you clear and easy instructions of how to install correctly the F-16 pilot model.
Take into account that each type of F-16 needs a specific number at step where you are at the below action:
“Then in “Parents” section in the box right of “Normal”, enter “XXXX” (see the below list for the proper number) and click to “Normal”.”
At which exactly block/type of F-16 you can’t have a proper installation?
ONLY the MLU’s (F-16AM) can’t have a proper usage of the F-16 pilot model. DO NOT try to install it on them, you will mess things up!

Seems likeI’m also too stupid to get this running.
I have done everything as stated in the readme from the first download (full pilot body):
- created Backup
- copied 8018 and 8019.dds from the archive to the Data\Terrdata\objects\KoreaObj\ folder
- performed the steps in the Editor as described, except changed the full body for the legs only file from post #485
But there is no legs in my cockpit.
Tried it first for the default Korean theater and testet in the Navigation Training TE
Now I’m afraid I have somthing broken in the sim so I have replaced all files from Backup.
I would like to use the pilot legs with a kneeboard created from WDP for campaigns in other theaters. Is there a noob-guide somewhere to get this running?
Thanks

Hello Fire,
I think the f-16 in the navigation TE is a bit special (is it the white-blue-red livery one?)
You might have better luck using a standard F-16C52+ for a start.
All the best, Uwe

I think what’s needed here is an LOD that contains just the legs… because all of the downloads I can find contain the legs and other cockpit components (HUD glass, switches, etc.) If one could have just the legs, it could be appended to any cockpitmodel2 LOD and be completely version independent. Does this sound right?
EDIT:
No, that’s not right. I wasn’t clear on what the “append model” function in LE does. It adds a model to the CT registry, rather than appending vertices/polys to an existing model as I suspected. Either way, I figured out that all F-16s except the AMs use a “cockpitmodel2” LOD and can therefore use the original legs-only model. Unfortunately, the AMs use a different setup of LODs and I couldn’t get them working. For them, I tried editing and replacing cockpithudmodel with 4.LOD as shown elsewhere in this thread, but couldn’t get it working. Maybe if I wasn’t trying to remove the legs using Edit LOD in LE, it would work? Not interested in a full body nor flying AM models anyway. Sorry. It would be possible to get all of these working in Balkans (and probably other theaters the same way) as well, but it would require changing the LODs in the 3dckpit.dat files for each aircraft… For some reason the Balkans theater guys felt it necessary to do each aircraft’s cockpit model differently?
To Install Pilot Legs for KTO in 4.33:
You will need any or all of these cockpitmodel2 CT#s:
For the 25/30/32/40/42/50/52/KF series jets:
• 2
• 3005
• 3089
• 3094For the A-15/B-15:
• 3005
• 3154For the IAF jets:
• 3128 (C/D 30)
• 3161 (D 40)
• 3143 (52+)
• 3154 (B)
• 3005 (A)Replace those CTs with onlylegs.lod by following these instructions:
Open LE and select the KoreaOBJ.HDR file from Data/Terrdata/objects, then:
• Next to the “Normal” button put in the new cockpitmodel2 CT# as listed above. (You’ll do this whole process for each number.)
• (Optional) Click “3-D Viewer” to confirm the model does not have the pilot legs
• Click the “Normal”
• Click the “1” button under the “Edit” button
• Click the “Select LOD” button and then OK
• Click the “Action” menu
• Click “Replace Model”
• Then select your “onlylegs.LOD” file
• Click “Go To,” then select CT Record to return to the start
• (Optional) Click 3-D Viewer to check that they were installed correctly.I downloaded the pilot’s legs hudfix LOD and followed the above steps, but once in the cockpit the legs are visible but my hud and other panels are all messed up.
Is there something I missed or something I can do to fix this issue?
Here is a screenshot of what I am talking about
Thanks!

I found this on the 72th VFW that finally helped in fixing the legs problem I was having.
http://www.72ndvfw.org/forum/m/5688083/viewthread/25003821-does-pilot-mod-legs-work-433
I hope that this can help anyone else having trouble getting the mod to work in BSM 4.33.U5. Considering I’ve never used the LOD before, these steps were very helpful. I many have messed something up in the above post’s steps.
Thanks
-
don’t forget these settings.
-
Can I open the LOD and change this after I’ve added the pilot legs?
Thanks
-
Yes
