WDP and color MFD settings
-
Can WDP set what color we want elements of our MFDs to be? I did notice an Avionics Configurator section for changing MFD item colors, and an option to ‘copy callsign.ini section’ for setting those colors?
The defaults on the block 40 are not terrible, but also not quite what Im after

Oh excellent question. …
-
No
Only via the AV config.
Select the colours of your choice and press the option labeled " Copy callsisn.ini section".
This will generate a text line that you will need to copy paste in your INI file. Now, you can load your colour set through the DTE page (OSB 2) in any F-16 variant that supports coloured MFD’s. -
Is this a separate step to the normal DTC load? Ive just done a quick ramp check and it doesnt seem to have changed colors
Edit: just tried pressing OSB 2 instead of expecting OSB 3 to work - excellent!
Now Ill have to figure out exactly what colors I do want to use… cheers!

I think that will not take long.

See also Technical Manual: Avionics Configurator for more info.

MFD colours are separately loaded. System loading has also received some changes. Each system is loaded individually loaded compared to 4.33 where they are loaded all at once . Load sequence, and time duration have also been fixed.

I’m really curious why the default color was changed to yellow. The photos I’ve found online all show white or green.

The DEFAULT colour hasn’t changed; Block 50 & 52 MFD_DEFAULT and MFD_SOI_BOX were changed (by someone who works on the F-16) as that’s what all the latest US tapes have. Other blocks and country-specific models have been customised accordingly.
It’s a 30 second job to change it back though; check out Technical Manual pages 26 & 27 for details.

Latest USAF software tapes have the MFD mnemonics in yellow.

Is there any way I could add new color to the preset in Avionics Configurator?
I mean the color based on RGB format. -

I mean the color based on RGB format.No. The colours are straight out of the official MFD colour palette.

So >M6 tape.

What about our HAF jets?
In real, Peace Xenia 1 & 2 have green monochrome, 3 & 4 have colored white as in current BMS 4.34.
BMS 4.34 has only tiny error though: The “F-16C-52+” model represents the HAF PX3 model, the “F-16C-52+ CFT” represents the PX4 model, as one can see the cockpit differences, radios etc as with this release. The tiny error for both these models in their MFD color is the value “MFD_NOT_SOI”. By default it is yellow with this release, while it should be white/default. Until a future fix in an bms update the end-user can go on the avionics configurator and change this value for both HAF models to DEFAULT.
In EMF and the new upcoming JanHas models all these will be ready correctly.
