Crash in DigitalBrain::GetMaxAAMissileRange()
-
Was flying a BARCAP campaign mission in the block 40 -CM, wasn’t doing anything in particular, but got this crash:

xxx-crash.dmp file is missing, please provide it
-
Here it is, all 130 MB of it: https://drive.google.com/open?id=15R2xPsKQibA4hGqK8UdvuSwubwdNomNq
-
You can zip it, it is pretty efficient (end size around 5 Mo).

Yep, you’re right. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1eRmg3J0X248fhIX6iVTPSz94HmHjQT7i (2 MB)

OK, this crash is totally reproducible.
1. Download the campaign: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1MKt9sb2-HPLJiSeMoa6Ol3Zwj35l02Ir
2. Take the dash-1 seat in Jackal1 (package 3167)
3. Take off, and get established in the CAP
4. Wait. About 10-20 minutes in, the crash will happen.
Unfortunately this means my campaign is unplayable
-
You are talking about an unplayable Campaign … but since you didn’t made any bug report, … and no mono log available … no way to know what campaign.
EDIT: Guys … it is really starting to be painful and tiring to always write/say the same about bug reports. Could you please make an effort.

Well Dee-Jay, as you can see, I attached the campaign and the logs in this thread. Everything you need is here. I certainly did make an effort to provide everything you need to reproduce and debug the issue. If you want it in the specific format you linked, I will rehash the thread in that format:

Thank you for your report
we are investigating the bug
-
ok
good news and bad news
the good news is that we think we found the root of the problem , most likely this is when AI aircrafts are engaging Helicopters in BVR.
the bad news is that this requires an exe change, so expect 3 to 4 weeks
You can try to edit your campaign file and remove all helicopters squadrons and flights with Mission commander, that would likely solve the issue

Glad I could help track down the bug. My spidey-sense told me it would be pretty obvious once you guys got a look at the stack trace.

we we had ONE occurence of that CTD during months of B testing, but the crashlog was not pointing exactly where yours is poiting ,
it is also true that looking at a part of the code again with a fresh mind without pressure makes things more obvious
