BMS 000- Benchmark Test Results.
-
As I’m always interested in Falcons Performance & getting the most FPS while maintaining all the eye-candy possible please post your results here.
As usual I run with a default settings with a moderate amount of AA. With MFDs active, RWR, fuel + a few more on second Display
My Current FPS in cold jet are around 32FPS @ 1440p, using the BMS provided TE for the purpose.
Hot Jet on taxyway/ramp. 27-30fps, 30 for the most part. As I have just installed Win 10 so I hope to improve on that.
PS: The TE is in the first in the Saved section BMS 000- Benchmark. Also just use your native or usual screen resolution.
FocalDesign did a well formatted Post, Excellent for others to compare with. But all reports are useful.Cheers

Same Here:
defaultF4 GFX settings for quality etc. 32 to 34fps on the Runway, going up to about 55 as I get airborne & fly circuits. GFX at default, NVidia settings moderate AA (4x) In windowed mode - with display extraction, this drops to about 23 on the runway, and about 44fps in the air. In an empty world, with clear blue skies I get about 55fps.GTX 1070, i7 3770k @ 3.5/4.0Ghz 16Ghz Kingston KHX1866 DDR3 RAM, Win 10 Pro 64bit. 2560x1440 monitor used for main 3d display (Windows Desktop is running 4 in total).
Can’t say that I have optimized it at all, it runs fine normally, apart from an occasional stutter when something explodes nearby!

@Focal D
Doing well to hold those numbers on a 4k.Thanks for the nicely formated & detailed report. Informative.
So you get the onboard to support two devices, nice. I only ever had one on the Mobo.

There is a benchmark mission in The T.E Saved section, think this is there to see what fps your getting,
If people are going to post we should use this so were all singing off the same song sheet? and can compare Drivers, settings, config settings? -

I though it was oblivious, sorry obvious but I should have mentioned it in the body of the post. -

Performance:
-At Ramp, cold jet, Inclement: 16 to 18FPS while zoomed out looking 20° up, 40 to 50 while looking down, 6 to 8 while zoomed in looking towards the horizon (1 to 2 FPS increase when changing cumulus coverage from 5/8 to 2/8!)

Since my FPS is pretty much the same both in this TE and for the ILS weather training TE, I decided to fire up Falcon 4.33 for comparison in the ILS weather TE.
With identical settings I get solid 40 FPS though the clouds (as opposed to 13 to 14 in 4.34), going up to 50FPS after descending to 5000ft and going up to 58 to 60 FPS on final transition to the visual after the inner ILS beacon (as opposed to 12 FPS).
There’s clearly something seriously wrong with 4.34 regardless of my hardware! It just might not be so noticeable in high end PCs compared to mine.
It’s like if the “low resolution for clouds” option is not working, even though I appear to also have .5 to 1.5x more FPS even on sunny days in 4.33 if compared to 4.34 for some reason… -
By the look of your performance impact cloud vs no cloud I think your GPU has difficulties to handle alpha layers of clouds
You might need to tune your GPU settings or update drivers
If you have 50fp with no cloud you should get around 35 with clouds
With all respect, before assuming something is wrong with 4.34 you might have a look at your settings first
Most of people have much more fps in 4.34 than 4.33 even if clouds default settings are much higher

With scattered clouds (default dogfight scenario) I get from 35 to 40 FPS, even if there’s multiple of them (it’s only an issue if I zoom in/fly through a cloud, decreasing my FPS to the 20’s - any idea if there’s a way to disable this? It’s like if the game increases clouds details the closer I get/more I zoom in, but it’s barely noticeable and I couldn’t care less for a slightly less detailed cloud up close).
The real problem though is the overcast, only then I get a serious performance impact. As for the alpha layers, I honestly have no clue on what it means (pardon my ignorance xD). But should there be anything I can do on my video card settings panel? I’ll check for drivers update, but I’m quite sure it’s up to date already.
Thanks.
Edit: pretty much everyone I talked to is having a worse performance in cloud heavy scenarios. It’s very noticeable how much more demanding 4.34 is even though I notice about no graphical improvement on my end.

Fully zoomed out/default has no change in FPS (keeps changing between 16 to 18) as long as the horizon is in sight.

Good numbers cortomalteseit great for a 1050.
Did you try with a cold jet.
My Cold Jet no extraction @ 2560x1440 with a moderate OC on cpu gets me to 35fps

Hi Shadow!
I started my test with cockpit cold and dark (about 40-42 FPS), then did a ramp start, take off and had a flight for several minutes, recording minimum and maximum values in each condition.
I’m satisfied by the frame rate obtained, and graphic is pretty nice too.
I’m at disposal for further informations, if required -
