Eurofighter Typhoon

Back to topic.
Edited a bit the bubbleness (lol) of the canopy it seems a bit better now, might be a bit longer as Radium said but have to see how i can fix this without destroying completely the Uvmapping of the model at least to my eyes now looks a bit better
Now that i see a bit better the whole model i think is a bit longer…. Have to check it maybe a global scaling in x axes fix the issue, got to get some info on that

LOD can have the same shapes … but as long as there are textures on it … it must fit with LOD0 sharing the same Parent.dat file og the Parent folder , otherwise 3DDB Test will generate errors reports.
As long as 3DDB Test do not report for critical errors (labeled as *** in the .txt file) and along as distance transition makes the differences non visible (mainly colors, global shapes) , we are fine. of course, if transition occurs so far that we could even use a generic LOD, the related LOD is simply pointless. So it must remains relevant. No point in making a dedicated lower LOD if the transition occurs beyond visual range.
Aat 500 miles it is even no longer rendered. LOD starts to be rendered at Deagg distance or the lower LOD distance (the lowest value of the two).
So in general speaking if i just use the lod3-lod4 of lets say E/F model with the skins of the other parents (lets say EJ) then problem solved right?

Looks a bit better now i think
Measurments in the Max file was around 17 meters length reduce it to 15,something as the original plane and also finally in 4.34 Taildragger doesnt needed as sim now reads perfectly the z position in the FM file! Bravo to the team!

don’t forget the left fusolage dirt

I start to look very professional mate.
Very nice work

Thanks a lot! All we need is a nice cockpit and as i said before some dedicated pylons as well

great job. Be sure to make the dimension correct!
i checked current typhoon model in BMS DB, its dimension fits wiki info.
IMHO wingspan figure is more important than length which may affected by pitot tube length.wiki info:
Length: 15.96 m (52.4 ft)
Wingspan: 10.95 m (35.9 ft) -
Be very wary of just grabbing dimensions off of Wikipedia - I realize it’s a no-brainer to recognize that fact, but still. Obviously, you will want to cross-reference data from multiple sources if at all possible. And of course, official publications are superior to third-party ones.
I just pulled up this document after a quick search concerning general dimensions: https://www.eurofighter.com/files/pdf/EF_TecGuide_2013.pdf
…Of course, you are well past the stage of needing general dimensions. The last plane I was playing with as a project was the F7U-3 Cutlass. As surprisingly challenging as it may be to nab the general dimensions of a type, as well as a set of decent line drawings, NOW you must be able to size the various guts of the aircraft appropriately, which is a lot easier said than done. This assumes your drawings are perfectly proportioned and accurate; it also assumes that if you are putting the drawing into your CAD software of choice that you have appropriately sized the template, etc. And with a line drawing without dimensioned parts, your accuracy tolerances may vary by a sizeable margin in relation to the real thing, etc., etc.

Well I think if you are within the specs is not a real problem. I mean if you are -+10cm in the dimensions then you are ok. But of course be dead on will be better! I think i might be wihin that margin in Length witch is fixable (missing around 10 cm) but as said i thought the overall plane looked too long to my eyes (it was a bit over 16m -3ds measurements-) now looks a bit better so i have to find a way to be precise without massing with the UV and have to re-do it again.
In general even if i miss 10cm for my eyes is ok (if i try to fix it wihout losses to all work overall) therefore after i have to re-enter the parent dimensions of course (hitbox-bubble etc) to better include the current model so the new BMS “options” can be available (near missile miss and hit etc) and correct i believe. I see what i can do I belive this model needs that love
Also thinking of buying a scale model in 1/48 lately (lol) -

I know you’re a very busy guy but I was just wondering if there was any update on your fantastic Typhoon model? Very much looking forward to flying it -
I second that!
It would be a fantastic addition to the spanish EF squadrons for POH, can’t wait to see it finished!
Keep it up, Manos! :thumb:

The main models are ready undergoing tests right now, as said i made 2 versions (as the original db) RAF (with IRST can be used for other countries as well) and a GAF (without IRST). They are on the painting facilities for other liveries, currently having finished only RAF and GAF as well. Soon i will finish Italian and move on to Spanish stay tuned!
Cheers! -
Great to see there will be high quality Typhoon models soon!
One question regarding the 2009\3dckpit.dat file for the stock GAF Eurofighter:
Within 4.33, it was possible to have the Typhoon wings by setting cockpitwingsmodel 3038.
Does anybody know the equivalent number for 4.34? Unfortunately, there is no EF2000 entry anymore within Cockpit_parents.xls.Thanks!

More updates coming soon… stay tuned

Indeed, from a long route perhaps. But it should come not easy - the task, I mean
With best regards.

Well it will not take too much time i believe. Im not in Athens so i dont have access to my PC but my laptop is here with me and its powerful enough to run 3dsmax so no problems there [emoji16] also it can run photoshop for the skins. I have all the models loaded in it and the psds for the skins
