Tom's Cat

Oh hell yeah! black lions skins!!!
-
VF-213 OEF Boss Bird…almost done with the package so all you Tomcat fanatics (the 2-4 persons there are) can expect a zip here soon!
Man, that cat looks wicked!
This might be my favorite color scheme (or at least in the top 3) for the turkey. By the way, are cat-lovers that few in the Falcon community ? -
There are some even more wicked ones you might favor…I’ve put together quite a lot…there are a number of fans some call themselves Ram like that Pick-up from way back in the 30s…some others have less obvious names about the ETA I’ve always been reluctant to give one but given the limited time I need to complete this and the limited time I have to spend on this I’d say some day in the second month of 2012…
PS: Anytime, Baby!

drop dead gorgeous…

Nice work Sting-Ray, all four of us Tomcat Fans love your work. They would go really well in one of the theatre expansions in work. Cough, cough, Libya, cough, cough.

Cool, I’m all excited to fly an F-14 (Decorated in one of those detailed skins) against a flight of Sukois in the Gulf of Sidra.
-
Thanks for all the warm words guys! I’ll sure keep you updated on the progress…
as far as I can see this is a package for ThirdWire’s Strike Fighters 2. It’s funny you posted this as I’ve stumbled across this sim only a couple of days ago not surprisingly because they’re apparently working on a F-14 sim in the form of a North Atlantic extension of their series which is pretty much the drop dead dream scenario for me personally. They also have some pretty impressive screens out (with a beautiful E-2 and Russian Bear aside the Tomcat) but there’s nothing specific nor a release date yet. Either way that F-14 model is a beauty!!!

Pulled the pre 1996 skins into the PSDs today, almost finished with that. Also put the final touches on a skin I never really finished - a retro design the Tomcatters had on the 101 bird during their last cruise reminiscing the original flying pencil…
Felix Rules!

Top/Bottom:

This is like Deja Vu.:D

I’m surprised you haven’t heard of them before. They have a very large community of players and a very large data base of mods to the various SF series of simulations over at http://combatace.com
They are very playable and offer something for just about everyone. Certainly not as complex as FF or F4 BMS but a good sim and the user mods are sound. -
“Anytime Baby!” Damn, sure was a sexy beast.
Too bad the 'cat never had the combat record the Eagle did. Anyone ever hear of Dale “Snort” Snodgrass? He’s the guy they took the now famous picture of doing an insanely close portside knife-edge flyby past a carrier (forget which one). He was a ledgend in the Tomcat community, he used to do flybys alongside the carrier, lower his hook and drag it in the water past the boat! Those were the days fellas.
-
In the end, the D-model was probably what the “Cat” should have always been. New engines, glass cockpit, Link-16, new radar and targeting pod+JDAM. It just cost too much to keep the girl flying.
-
BAH, our Gov’t wastes so much money on crap, like $16 muffins, they should have just left them in service because they’re SEXY.:D

So was the F-106

Ah, our cat was designed for the war that never came (fortunately), they don’t make them like that anymore
