Love this theater. Only with latest version I got a CTD without crashlogs being created. It was after successful first sweep mission and returning to base. It happened after ESC from plane after parking on the airfield (closest F-16 base to the front, forgot the name).
Not sure if it could be airfield based problem. It was dark but I could swear the airbase had changed from the 4 version and even looked like taxiway was gone after landing.
Did 4 missions in the previous version (4) and did not encounter CTD’s
Not sure what has caused the CTD (BMS itself or the newer Kuwait 5 version or maybe just bad luck this time).
Somehow the latest BMS version gives problems when exiting after a mission, much more the the 4.33 version ever did. But maybe the U1 will correct this, hoping for it to come out soon.Cheers Obi1

A couple of times I saw this when leaving the mission on earth and in the air. When the screen fades away, the AI takes over the control of the aircraft, active radio talks begin. Once a successful log showed some error in the ATC.
This rarely happens, possibly on the condition of a larger number of other planes around. Now reached the 3rd day of the campaign. I observe in the 3rd “action camera” - active AI activity on the destruction of military equipment - both by airplanes and by helicopters while advancing to Kuwait, and so far not a single CTD. Maybe just lucky
-
Thanks a lot for this update, Goro.
I’m involved now to see what happens in campaign, in my first attempt I couldn’t go further than 1st day at 1300 almost… I will see what happens by reiterating the flights with the saves I made at precise hours.
I chose a AMI Tornado IDS squadron (of course).Update: I started again from that last save point I made, and all ran fine, until I decided to add a custom package flight, just for fun. When I exited from this mission after having accomplished it, bam! CTD. Let’s see if it still is that random 4.34 bug happening to campaigns, first of all.
With best compliments in any case.

If you start again from the autosave file, the progress and results of this mission are lost? Or the campaign has managed to continue, given the progress of this mission.
What error is indicated in the crashlog?
From myself I will add.
With intensive use of helicopters, rarely, but there may be an error associated with the AI helicopters. The error occurs in the 3D world.Falcon BMS.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in: 00000000406CE16A Falcon BMS.exe, HeliBrain::GoToCurrentWaypoint()+58 byte(s), e:\wip\bms\svn\source\rel-4.34\sim\hdigi\h_waypoint.cpp, line 49

Right, good questions these yours, Goro.
Here are my answers:
- about the first, no. All the results have been wiped, so the campaign started up from a dynamically generated new point;
- about the crashlog, here you go.

- about the first, no. All the results have been wiped, so the campaign started up from a dynamically generated new point;
It turns out that the result of the mission and the progress of the campaign was saved. Not lost
The game does autosave before entering the 3D world and then when leaving it.If campaign progress was lost, when starting from autosave after CTD, you would be at the point where you entered 3D world for the last time. And again, there would be an opportunity to repeat your mission.

I have not seen this before. This is not connected with the ATC, not with the AI.
Some kind of error related to the graphic part.Perhaps the problem occurs when moving from 3D to 2D. Maybe it somehow depends on the settings of vertical synchronization, smoothing or triple buffering. Unfortunately I can not say for sure.
-
Thanks for your attention, Goro.
Anything it was, it happened once only… and good hint that about the graphic settings.
I don’t use the triple buffering option, but it’s a starting point anyway. And my 2080Ti can be an exigent b…
more than sometimes, you know. With best regards.

I see some SLUF love, but as far as I can tell, the USAF left their birds at home with the Guard. Only the USN deployed the A-7E in theater.

fly A-10, about to use AGM65 to attack a red GU. then screen freeze and ctd.

fly A-10, about to use AGM65 to attack a red GU. then screen freeze and ctd.
It looks like an error when drawing the display of a maverick.
Was it when you turned on the display of the Maverick, or was some target model drawn in the mav.lock ?- Does this happen all the time?
- How does A-10 work in other theaters?
Just for yourself.
What happens when you are in the A-10 cab when you press the F1 key?For example. I get an input error.
Falcon BMS.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in: 000000004042D600 Falcon BMS.exe, SimRadarRangeStepDown()+112 byte(s), e:\wip\bms\svn\source\rel-4.34\sim\siminput\commands.cpp, line 440

i fly the same mission for three times.
first time - i uncage mav and bsgt target > screen freeze and CTD.
second time - uncage mav, switch to viz mode, while aiming tgt > CTD.
third time - wierd, no ctd, fire all mav and bomb GUs.i’ve not tested a10 in other theater. kuwait theater is a better theater for a10 gun strafing, simple terrain tile background helps spotting tanks… i’ve difficulity finding them in green terrains.

i set up a TE in kuwait.
first time - i press F1 /or F2, in few seconds i got CTD and the same log.
second time - no CTD, i press F1/F2, no CTD at all.BTW fly buc, jag, A6, A7, AV8, F14 and F15 in kuwait cam, no CTD.

-Added the airforce interaction flags “army” “all-weather” and the “main role” tab for the squadron and OV-10d Bronco unit. Also for C-130, AB-8b and some others. The database is based on the original KTO. It seems to require a revision for these settings.
-
Made some settings in the mission file.
In the category AMIS_HighThreat added STSTRIKE (Stealth Strike), AMIS_RECONPATROL (this revived the activity of reconnaissance helicopters), AMIS_ONCALLCAS (+AMIS_flyalways)Removed from the same category
- AMIS_OCASTRIKE and AMIS_STRIKE
falcon4.aii reduced:
MaxFlymissionThreat = 65
MaxFlymissionHighThreat = 90All this will reduce the generation of some suicidal missions. I’m testing the 5th day, the result is pretty good.
- Updated Mirage-3/5 and Mirage F-1 models from CCC1tw
- The M-48 tank was replaced with AMX-30 - the main battle tank in the Gulf countries at that time (Qatar, Saudi arabia). models from CCC1tw.
- Added CH-53 transport helicopter - models from CCC1tw
- Airbase 11_29 - model has been replaced (taxiing and runway).
- Changed the order within the divisions and brigades. The division includes up to 6 brigades. A brigade of up to 4 battalions. The concentration of brigades and battalions in Kuwait has been reduced.
-
Good morning, Goro.
So, conclusively, can I assume since now that Iraqi’s armed forces are more reactive in campaign than they were in RL for a lot of reasons we can’t care of here?
Not that it can worry me, BTW.With best regards.
-
Initially, in the campaign file, the initial initiative was set at 5 to 95. Apparently on this, one of the parties behaved rather sluggishly.
Conducting experiments, I changed the initial initiative 40 to 60. And reduce the initial number of ground forces in Kuwait.
According to falcon4.aii - 20 is the lower limit for the “Min Secure Initiative”.To increase the initiative you need:
Destroy enemy airfields - reducing the value of AirPower - while achieving superiority in the air, the AI begins to initiate the onset of ground forces. Generates BAI missions and more.
The same will happen if you actively destroy military equipment, reducing the value of “ground power”.The campaign ends after the liberation of Kuwait and the capture of the Basrah area.
- The old model F-5e for RSAF has been replaced by the F-5e model from the CCC1tw pack. With texture correction.
- In the database. One of the two battalions of the SAM HAWK - changed to the state of statics. Used for the defense of airfields.Otherwise, even with “set by HQ” disabled, they love to leave the designated point and leave for their business.
In the folder “music” - added tracks (ui1-6) from old flight simulators, can be used for UI.

Thanks for this update, Goro.
So, let’s have a look to this too.
With best regards.

Campaign test(4.34-5 version, not -6) : Blue side wins on Day 11 0:00, after capturing Al Majarr Al Kabir.
i use [add package] to maximized A-G attack, wipe out all Red GUs/AD units before Day 9 0300.
on J-Star map, no Red GU dots left. then i periodically disable all Red AFBs and hit red Army bases to clear the sky. BUT Blue GUs did not move aggressively…tho major offensive targets at Baghdad for a long while…then i start to control GU movment, order some to capture all obj in Kuwait, some toward Al Barsa, and few aim at Baghdad. Tho no air/ground resistance, GUs move pretty slow… it takes a while to capture all obj in Barsa and Baghdad - but the campaign clock keeps ticking. the war finally ends when a GU capture Al majarr al Kabir…sounds like an insignificant obj at NW Barsa?
in short, trigger file may need further tweak, to push all Blue GUs advancing north along all frontline.
the ground op target keeps aiming at Baghdad- may aim at Kuwait first then Barsa, then Baghdad.Apart from A-10 CTD bug, i fly several ac in 3d, no CTD. great job modding…and looking forward to more aggressive GU maneuvor. Actually lots Red GUs did move toward Kuwait in the beginning and neutralized by Blue air power…it’s Blue GUs lack of drive to fight back in later stage.
PS- missing B-1 and B-52, and H-6 in cam.
