Maybe you are right that I am insane and out of mind to offer this thing. -
Nice that this is offered, but price is unreasonable even at half the price. I would buy a Warthog before spending $200USD on a pot and I have two Cougars.
-
Yes hello, I am interested in your $999,999,999 Cougar parts, please send through pricing and model numbers for bulk buy order…
Scale of order to be determined, at present expecting to order 2.5 * 10^-8 pieces
-
$299 for the ministick.
Very limited guys, jump on it !
ROFL -
Also, a lot of parts are still available from TM IN france. I have bought most of them a couple of months ago and paid something like 8€ / part. Ministick, VHF, etc…

A lot of people appreciate the mod and the ideas behind it, but then turn to criticize its price with a sarcastic tone. It is totally fine as long as your Cougar can serve you right.
I do hope Cougar community can flourish, but first thing first, any mod provider has to survive in this environment. Otherwise; Cougar is deemed to die away.
Perhaps I can help explain where some of the criticism comes from. At the prices advertised on Facebook, its significantly cheaper to buy a real F-16, pay a technician to remove the controls, and hire someone to create an interface to computer, and hire someone else to write a replacement for both BMS and DCS…
Even at the prices commented on in this thread, its cheaper to replace those switches with actual mil spec switches and fit them to the Cougar.
At that time, Cougar world had already faded away, no where to buy any mod to improve my sloppy/toy-like Cougar throttle.
Although all of the previous mod providers are all out of business, the lucky thing is I am not making a life on making joystick. To do a Cougar mod is just a causal hobby, of course, when I have time.
Perhaps I can correct this also. There are a number of other mod providers that still make Cougar mods. Not as many as there has been in the past, and the cheaper end of the scale seems to have disappeared - but your prices are not competing in the cheaper end of the scale. For these prices you are competing with RealSimulator, with Link L-3…

Here is what I paid for the parts from TM on May 6th 2019 :
- RADAR CURSOR RDR MICROSWITCH 252A104B60NB -> 6€
- OT 270S1800 THROTT.FCT HOTAS (Potentiomètre Man Rng) -> 6€
- POTENTIOMETER HOTAS ANTENNA (Potentiomètre Antenna Elevation) -> 6€
- Complete assembly for T2/T3/T4/T5 (radioswitch) button -> 6€
This was 2 months ago.
At $299 for the microswitch (with no return right), you make 97.7% margin, nice business model !
On top of that, this thread should be closed, as it is clearly advertising for your own profit.

Hey flow32, where are you based? Last time I checked with TM they didn’t have any parts left, but that might be the Europe office or something… But maybe they have new stock. I could do with an antenna replacement pot.
-
France.
I just sent them an email to ask about stock.
I’ll update here and let everyone know. -

I make no comment regarding what the moderators should or should not do, but I do observe that there seems to have been some leeway over this in the past for small modders.
Normally I am accustomed to margin % being a percentage of the cost price, rather than a percentage of the sale price. So this would make the profit margin 4342.8%, I believe. A 100% margin means the item sells for 2x the cost price, a 200% margin, for 3x the cost price, etc…

Yes. Different countries calculate differently. In France we we use how many % the net margin is compared to the selling price.
I guess this is why there was the CFO comment above.
100% margin here means you got the product for free and sell it for X, or you sell it for an infinite amount, which is kind of the case here. -
Can you share what email you used for TM?
-
Sure thing, here you go : [email protected]

Does anyone know CTS factory is based in Taiwan?
I can even get many free samples three years ago!
Do hope Flow32 really has the resource; otherwise pricing up is a must.- For any premium or mark-up of Fighter Sim Store products, go ask the refund/ rebate from Flow32
