Falcon Sim Store now is offering Cougar replacement parts
-
Here is what I paid for the parts from TM on May 6th 2019 :
- RADAR CURSOR RDR MICROSWITCH 252A104B60NB -> 6€
- OT 270S1800 THROTT.FCT HOTAS (Potentiomètre Man Rng) -> 6€
- POTENTIOMETER HOTAS ANTENNA (Potentiomètre Antenna Elevation) -> 6€
- Complete assembly for T2/T3/T4/T5 (radioswitch) button -> 6€
This was 2 months ago.
At $299 for the microswitch (with no return right), you make 97.7% margin, nice business model !
On top of that, this thread should be closed, as it is clearly advertising for your own profit.

Buy more and just make it 50% gross margin.
See if you will be rich or broken -

Hey flow32, where are you based? Last time I checked with TM they didn’t have any parts left, but that might be the Europe office or something… But maybe they have new stock. I could do with an antenna replacement pot.
-
France.
I just sent them an email to ask about stock.
I’ll update here and let everyone know. -

I make no comment regarding what the moderators should or should not do, but I do observe that there seems to have been some leeway over this in the past for small modders.
Normally I am accustomed to margin % being a percentage of the cost price, rather than a percentage of the sale price. So this would make the profit margin 4342.8%, I believe. A 100% margin means the item sells for 2x the cost price, a 200% margin, for 3x the cost price, etc…

Yes. Different countries calculate differently. In France we we use how many % the net margin is compared to the selling price.
I guess this is why there was the CFO comment above.
100% margin here means you got the product for free and sell it for X, or you sell it for an infinite amount, which is kind of the case here. -
Can you share what email you used for TM?

Sure thing, here you go : [email protected]

Does anyone know CTS factory is based in Taiwan?
I can even get many free samples three years ago!
Do hope Flow32 really has the resource; otherwise pricing up is a must.- For any premium or mark-up of Fighter Sim Store products, go ask the refund/ rebate from Flow32
-
You are almost right.
You may calculate all the expense you need to make a real F16 throttle( say, 10 piece)
RS is not my competition -
It is ridiculous and insane to do mod business; no need the hassle to do it.
Assuming one component cost $10(I know you like $10).
Just let me make another $10/piece(reasonable? Right?)
The whole Cougar world( estimate from Falcon 4 BMS), the TAM is around 2,000 people.
So, if everyone buys in, I will make $10x2000=$20000
Poor me, to spend a lot of time and money to search the components and hire designer for design and factory to CNC/NCT.
You know what?
You give me $20 and see if I am willing to go to my post office and send you an international mail?
I am only myself! No company will do this business.
Do the math yourself, the COGS, the OPEX, TAX…
No company will serve these orphan Cougar users. No way! -

Thanks man. Email sent. No way I would pay $200 USD per pot. I’ll say good bye to my Cougar before I would pay that ridiculous price.
-
Well now everything costs $999,999,999.
Good luck paying for that…

Mine?
I’m sorry I don’t understand what you mean. I don’t own the FB stall.

Depending on your Cougar condition, I could take it!
