Hud-projection mod

Well specially at the end of the video where he opens the canopy the coloring (darker) of the HUD is obvious.
Also another q have u noticed at the start of the vid and at the very end the smoke coming from infront? it’s from airconditioning? and when he opens the canopy seems like the canopy has some stain (vapor) from the smoke - vapor coming from the front? -
-
Noticed that as well…IMHO these videos are totally amazing. What a kickass location and I assume the Netherlands and Belgium teams had previously planned to release these similar videos, almost identically in length and course of action. 2 displays at 2 different angles. Loved that.

Interesting landing in that 2nd vid. No lineing up 10 miles out. Just swerve into line at last moment and hit the deck cool as you please.
He seemed to increase throttle prior to killing the engine. Havn’t seen such proceedure mentioned in forums ?
Startup would have been more interesting but for time skip. Though not seeing inside cockpit it was possible to relate to movements. Display was a bit tedious from that view frankly

AFAIK … to avoid lube oil leak or for nozzle position … do not remember exactly.
-
For Oil. Push to 80% RPM for 10 sec and cuttoff immediately.

Great info Arty! That shot shown above first can be expanded to a big reso.
Now we only need a drogue chute switch hehe.Cheers

Hi, sorry to be off-topic…. but on both pictures from the cockpit, i can see that the ECM panel is empty, even the RWR is gone, what kind of ECM system do they have and where is it displayed ?
Spooky.
-
As for the RWR, I will try an answer from my knowledge: It ain’t gone, it is rather an MLU type of bigger RWR screen. E.g. seen on Belgian F-16 MLUs. Anyone correct me here…my edge in having collected info was rather on European F-16s and USAF ones.

Thanks crazytom,
But i see no screen at all …. this is what bugged me lol, i know that on the MLU’s the ecm panel looks different, that the RWR display is bigger, but … here i can’t see any display or panel relative to it … and the cockpit picture is from a block 52 + … maybe greece has another ecm system. I will try to find something about it.
Spooky.

now u got it all wrong…. about the absence of RWR…
In case u missed our weapon of mass distruction the mykonos super paradise… lol Jack Noris is Greek so we don’t need RWR we just think of them and we know where they are… lolAs u can see in the pic it’s bright new the plastics still smell and it’s before the installation of the system.

ECM suite ASPIS II is not installed yet to our Block 52 birds. The Block 52+ Advanced were delivered with the suite preinstalled, while the older Blocks 30/50 have the ASPIS I suite installed and it is partially upgraded to II features.

Thank you raptor.
Spooky.

Just to clarify this……the shown outside pic of the BLock 52+ is the same bird whose pit is shown one shot above?
That would mean the advanced Block52s feature basically the same (layout) cockpit the older Block 52s do? (No center MFD?)
That is cool IMHO since it means there is no need for a totally upgraded pit for those in the Aegean theatre, maybe some modifications here and there, but basically it applies? -
Yeap no center mfd.
-
Cool…Block 52+ free to fly. I’m a cockpit fanatic, I only fly birds with at least mostly correct cockpits lol. But I love the advanced Vipers!

I can count them out tomorrow cause it is 4 in the morning.
And, center “MFD” is called CPD - Center Pedestal Display system. 2 companies make them, each is a different design: Raytheon and Elbit. The first one has a contract for supplying these CPDs to all USAF/ANG; upgraded birds, while Elbit has supplied some; IAF’s birds - no pics of course of the Israel monitor operational in a plane, we are waiting pics of the ANG bird to popup in near future.
HAF also reviewed the Raytheon solution when planned to upgrade some blocks, but with a cost of approx 100k it was left aside atm.
Block 60 central screen has nothing to do with these 2 CPD monitors, it is another design, in fact all 3 mfd’s are the same type.

Actually Raptor, you are a bit wrong in both replies
