Pilot model fo F-16
-
I also tried to reinstall the mod after a clean BMS 4.32 update 1 install… It doesn’t seem to work…
OK I’ve found. Just use the parent number 2 in the LOD then follow Harpoon procedure and all run well
Parent number 2 LOD ??
-
Open LOD editor and type “2” in the marked area. Click “normal” button on the left.
When done, this screen will come up. Click “Open 1” on the left and you are ready to begin the installation procedure.

Thanks Copper

Well… still doesn’t work… weird
I have to load “loaded.lod” right ? Not “FINAL.lod” ? -
Yes, “loaded.lod” is the one.
There is also a chance LOD editor might not respond at all after model replacement. The installation, however, would be complete and at that point you can close the program and see the effect in BMS, unless of course an error message comes up.

Just one small note. If you install the Blk 40 hud with pilot model you don 't have to install this one.
-
Still no leg,too.
-
Harpoon,I use this mod and love it.My question is when I install the update after i finish the caimpaign I’m doing now,am I correct that I only need to install the blk 40 mod and not this one? And i will have legs and body in all f16 blocks?
Thanks Tom -
I got my legs back in the default pit (blck 40/42 no prob because of different parent)
In the new update there is a change with the default pit=> parent 2. In old bms version it had LOD 82. Now it has LOD 7. So use the instructions from harpoon with parent 2 and lod 7
Always make a backup of Terrdata directory before editing -
Copy on the lod numbers, need answer to question 2 please and thankyou.

(pilot body) and (block 40/42 hud w/wo body) are 2 different mods. After the update the (pilot body) is undone.
-
You’re right. I installed the update yesterday and parent 2 has now a different LOD attached to it.
If you’ll do as Copper said, it should work just fine.
I’ll update the fisrt post with his changes.@ Copper - thanks m8. You’ve done the job for me.
-
You’re welcome
-
They are 2 different mods,ok then,glad I checked.Thanks

Ok, for anyone still confused by the post-update installation, a step has been left out of the discussion so far. Or, rather, more accurately, a step that you used to have to do is no longer required.
From Harpoons Readme.txt, you skip step 9. (Select LOD no. 82).
So, to put it context of the rest of the install instructions:
1. !!!Create a backup of files (not folders) in:
<dir>\Falcon BMS\Data\Terrdata\objects!!!
2. Put 8018.dds and 8019.dds files in<dir>\BMS\Data\Terrdata\objects\KoreaObj
3. Open LOD Editor, enter ‘2’ in the box next to ‘normal’
4. Click on ‘normal’, then ‘1’ under “Edit”
8. Click on ‘Select LOD’
9. Click ‘ok’ in the pop-up dialog box, don’t change any numbers here.
10. Select Action>Append/replace texture
11. Select 8018.dds and 8019.dds
12. Click on ‘Action’>replace model
13. Choose ‘loaded.lod’ from the archive.
14. When the LE changes appearence you can close it down.
15. Enjoy your new body! This is what worked for me, hope this helps.
PS - Still, its curious why we are getting different LOD#'s for parent ‘2’. Copper seems to be getting 7544, wolf123 got 7323, and I’m getting 7318.</dir>

It’s all about theater selection. Each add-on theater has it’s own LOD# for parent 2 that has to be replaced by “loaded.lod”. As such, Balkans and Aegean theaters for example, won’t have the same LOD for parent 2.
In my previous screenshots, Aegean theater was selected. That’s why 7544 displayed.

Hi Pilots,
at first, many thanks to Harpoon for his great Pilot Model!!
In my opinion, there is unfortunately a bit difficult to reach the sides panels. Therefore, I simply asked Harpoon how to remove the body and the legs still retains. He answer me promt wiht the solution. And it works! Thank you!
Here is an illustrated guide for those who want to try it too.At first some pics
Here is the guide.
At first, install the pilot Model like Harpoons readme.
For win7 64bit users, run lodeditor wiht winxp sp2 komp mode.
Do not forget, you should have a backup of the files in case something goes wrong.greatings,

It does’nt run for me. My pilot is already installed (and runs weel with legs and body) and I accurately follow the different steps discribed in your post. A last when I open BMS I can’t use it because some black and white areas appear on my screen. So I have to reinstall folloxing Harpoon method and It runs but always the legs and body
I run WinXP pro SP2Greatings

Hi,
I’ve tried many times and now after following exactly the procedure described by Eagle I can play again with BMS but surprised the pilot is still there with legs and body
Any track for these issue ?
