X55 keyfile -BMS -Full DX Programmed
-
Hello Snelle,
I have just bought x56 and your key settings are great. But that mouse micro stick setting seems does not work properly with x56(by the way OS: Windows 7 and Falcon 4.33). You mentioned that in your document it was only for x55 but I wanted give a try.
I have a silly question for you. What I am going to do with that pr0 file? Sorry, I did not manage to work that slide button with the brake toggle(b shortcut).
I will also try your settings with 4.34 and I will let you know the result. Thanks for the work you did here.

If the mouse/microswitch is functional within device setting of windows you should be able to select it as an axle within advanced BMS controller setup.
X-56 users do not need to use the reg files, and if you did I would advise to reverse these settings.
pr0 is a brake toggle, in/out. Install the Rhino software and activate it for its functionality.
The slider is the most logical key for the airbrake, but the limitation of the slider is that it is a single Direct X key, leaving no other options then to give it some (airbrake) functionality within HUD software.
This you can verify with opening MS Word, or some sticktest program, then moving the slider to the right or left once, then the result should be a single ‘b’.
I hope this sorts it out for you. Good luck. -

But about the slider I am sure if I did correct: When I slide the slider to the upper position brakes are open, but when I try to close it I have to slide down and slide up again. I think it supposed to be only one movement(slide down to close the brakes). Is this normal or am I wrong?

left or right, both should produce a toggle ‘b’. test it in HUD software, makes a difference compared to msword.

I figured it out Snelle, thank you so much.
For everyone else, Snelle’s settings also work for 4.34, no problem at all.

Well, 4.33 profile worked for me, though I’m not using shifted functions and reconfigured keys for my own preferences. Mouse cursors, etc. works just fine.
But I must say - did I understand correctly that by “Shift” you mean “pinkyshift”? And if yes, should pressing “shifted” button work in control setup UI? -
The shifted (i.e pinky) functions only work in cockpit and not in UI. Do not save keyfile in UI.
-
Is there an update for this to 4.34.2 that was released in December?
Some of this works but other things don’t. For example, Idle Detent on SW2 of the throttle does nothing. I’m brand new to this mod, having it a couple of days, and I really don’t understand how to edit the keyfile myself as it’s very confusing.

What makes you think that things don’t work? I assume you were referring to trigger detent, and not idle detent ? What else is not functioning and how did you came to that conclusion ?
Keyfile editing … if you really want to go your way try learning to master the included keyfile editor in BMS. -

I (try) to fly exclusively in cockpit mode and the post above mine says that’s the only place it works but it still doesn’t register.
Wheel brakes, Laser Arm On/Off, etc just don’t do anything.
So, I went to the Alternative launcher and redid everything after a few days. Set all keys as the same as the Map Legend.png file and pinky switch still doesn’t work. While it says it’s bound to “DX6 :Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino Stick / STICK: Pinky Switch” it still won’t do anything in game. Even though I have wheelbrakes, for example, set to “DX5 SHFT”.

check DeviceSorting.txt in config folder for device order. what’s the content?
edit: also verify correct usage of the pinky shift command syntax: press the pinky button, press/release desired command, release pinky button……

{22150738-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino Stick”
{A2150738-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino Throttle”
{028E045E-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Controller (XBOX 360 For Windows)”That is the order in my DeviceSorting.txt
And yes, I hold the pinky switch in when hitting the wheelbrake button but they do not engage. So I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing wrong.

try unplugging the xbox
verify “set g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude 256” //config// Falcon BMS.cfg
check your x-55 device buttons work correctly in windows
if that does not help I suggest do a clean re-install and do it all over.
good luck -
Just found this, it looks awesome. Thank you for that work!

First of all: Thank you so much for your profile! It works like a charm.
I have now spend hours in figuring out how to assign the thumb stick on my Logitech X-56 Stick to change views in BMS 4.34. Is there any chance to make that happen? It is shown as axis in the UI - i just can’t figure out how to assign it as a “POV Control” as I don’t have TrackIR.
Any help on this?
Thank you so much guys
-
You could use Opentrack as it allows you to set it as input there and output TrackIR output back to BMS

beacause the thumb on stick is an axis you cannot assign keys to it. Should work though with saitek programming and assigning “bands” to it.
I would go for trackir, if monney is an issue try searching this forum or the net for cheap alternativescheers
edit feb 2021
TIR died spontanious……served me well for more then 15 years… RIPI bought a delanclip and it works just fine, much better then TIR 4 with reflector.
-
Thanks guys! I’ll keep getting TrackIR in my mind - I’ll try the Opentrack solution first i guess.
But now I’ve noticed another strange behavior. Couldn’t get my head around first - but now I noticed that the HOTAS is reverting to some “basic mode” everytime I press the pinkyshift button. Afterwards the POV Stick really acts as a POV stick and not as TMS anymore. Everything else stoppes working except for the Throttle and Stick axis. And it’s not revertable ingame.
Is this a known issue?
-
with oentrack you already have the software part for a full TrackIR System. I build IR Track Clip DIY with an PS3 eye cam for an overall price of less than 10€ and functionwise it’s as good as a 170€ TIR5
When using Pinyshift keep in mind to have proper release order release first the shifted key and then the pinky otherwise the button ,hat might be stuck in the shifted layer mode
Example of Opentrack setup which would be using my X65F ministick axis for Pitch and Yaw view movement

perhaps it is a releasing order issue.
you probably release pinkey before releasing the "key’ (whatever it is) . so press pinkey press “key”, then release “key” , release pinky.
