Making good progress but . . .

Well after some self caused frustration and misfires - I finally have BMS 4.34 U2 up and running with a working (mostly) TM Cougar HOTAS, CH Pedals and two TM Cougar MFD’s using the Alternative Launcher which I love. I had an issue with the microstick not reading but that was fixed with the TM Controller software. The MFDs are working great and soon to have a couple old android tablets behind them after I better understand the Display Extraction. Also going to move the ICP to an old phone I have.
I can take off and fly but combat is a bit iffy as I’m still trying to figure out the best use of the Cougar HOTAS buttons and switches . . . My question is - Can I load Dunc’s profile and still use the Alternate Launcher to go in and modify / keep some settings I already have and like? Or is there a “standard” map for what to assign to what on the Cougar?
Next step, once I get it working / flying right and I’m able to be somewhat successful in instant action and the training scenarios I’d like to get the monitors / tablets and Display Extraction going to be able to keep my head up. Eventually I will add TrackIR I think and hopefully by then I’ll be proficient enough to join up with a group and fly together with some of you pros out there

The best way to configure your cougar is EXACTLY like the real one using DX, nothing less , nothing more

Using tablets for MFD extraction wouldn’t be my first choice. Most of the Display extraction tools are build to use secondary screens. Even so there are client server Apps turning a tablet into a monitor. But as you say you have TM MFD bezel whyvnot using a second screen.
From my personal experience even before starting with display extraction I would add Head tracking first.
Btw a tablet I would see more for the usage for ICP.

Well that’s pretty much what I was thinking . . . some things work just fine but I’m struggling with others. For instance the DOG FIGHT switc - I can get it to select Dogfight Override in left position and MRM Override in right position but can’t seem to get it to cancel or return to NAV mode when returning to the middle position. Another is I can use the microstick to slew the MFD Cursor but can’t seem to get the button click to select a target. Also - not being a REAL F-16 pilot I’m not exactly sure what they all should be and was looking for a layout that would help guide me through setting them up correctly

I have two screens - my thought was to stack them with the “Cockpit” on the lower and hud/outside view on the upper. Having the bezels I just thought a couple cheap tablets to bring the displays to life and free up screen room. I was hoping my old Galaxy Note would be big enough for the ICP . . . ? I’m not experienced at ANY of this so input and advice on what others have done that worked is welcome!
This is what I’m working with right now

Open the Falcon BMS.cfg file which is located in your BMS user\config folder with a text editor. Find the setting: set g_nHotasDgftSelfCancel. It’s set to 0 by default, please set it to 1. This will enable dogfight switch middle position to NAV.

Check “Use 3-way ON-OFF-ON switch for TQS: DOGFIGHT” option in the alternative launcher.
Or, If you are using AL v1.5 you can assign DX release behaviour to “TQS: DOGFIGHT Switch - MRM/DF Cancel”
I can use the microstick to slew the MFD Cursor but can’t seem to get the button click to select a target.
TMS UP should bug the target, not slew cursor click.
Slew cursor click should be assigned to “TQS: RDR CURSOR - Cursor Enable”Open the Falcon BMS.cfg file which is located in your BMS user\config folder with a text editor. You should not if sing AL. AL overrides that option.
